I think there are many wanted list e-mails that are in error.

The default value for Notify Me By E-Mail
in the part out to wanted list screen is set to yes (checked)

http://www.bricklink.com/wantedSet.asp

This should be no (cleared) in the set part out same as for adding individual
items.

I uploaded about 40 different lots, fairly small quantities and pretty typical
parts and pricing. The system generated 900 e-mails.

I accept people have these on wanted lists, but these are not the type of parts
you need to get an e-mail for. There are in most cases dozens to hundreds of
other lots already listed.

I know I have on occasion I have neglected to clear that check box when using
the part to wanted list function and was immediately getting wanted list notifications.
So I went and fixed it, but how many new users are suddenly getting volumes of
wanted list notices the did not expect and don't know how to fix?

Bump: This is a quick easy and proactive fix. Night before last listed 8-10
lots - again run of the mill stuff - generated dozens of e-mails.

Andy

This morning parted out 1 copy of a game at average prices - generated 4+ lines
of wanted list notices!

I even have notify option set as not checked and it is still checked.
