| Some sellers on here are running small operations, so I understand them wanting
to place liability on the buyer. There are other sellers, myself included, that
would prefer to make their stores more buyer friendly by accepting liability
for all orders placed in their store. I think that the existence of a the check-box
"Include Insurance with my Order (cost will be determined by seller)" is a major
turn off to some buyers. Long time bricklink users are familiar with this "policy,"
but new buyers coming in might see it, and immediately jump ship back to that
other site.
When a buyer requests insurance in my store, I don't charge them anything extra,
I certainly don't pay for the overpriced insurance USPS offers. What I do is
the same thing I do with any order - if it gets lost, I refund the money. I had
to do this a grand total of once, and it was not for one of the orders
requesting insurance, mind you. I will also add that this was significantly cheaper
than buying insurance for every order and no hassle filing a claim. Having the
checkbox on the checkout page makes buyers think that they would have to pay
more to avoid liability - even when that isn't stated in my store terms!
So in short:
A vote of "yes" means you want bricklink to include an option on all sellers'
store settings page to remove the line "include insurance.." from the checkout
page on their store only for all buyers. Any seller who didn't want to
remove the line could still keep it.
A vote of "no" means keep things the way they are; no one has options.

Don't you already have this option, though? Just include in your terms "all orders
are insured for shipment, at no additional cost." or something to that effect.
