I would like to suggest that instead of purging messages as well as orders that
the system do an archive feature.

Would be very simple. 6 month increments.

At the end of 6 months it generates a report.

The same way it does billing, a report of the last 6 months orders.

For the forum buffs a quick archive of the last 6 months messages.

Simple and would allow the sellers to find old orders as well as be able to find
old problem orders as well.

Thank you for letting me post a suggestion.

I believe that there is already an archiving function in place for orders, it's
that it's a manual process. What would this proposal do that is above and beyond
what you are proposing?

As far as the forum archiving, what is important to you, isn't necessarily important
to me, so who makes the call? And how are these archives stored and retrieved
if this is a BL function?
