| Please keep the shopping cart contents alive across log-ins and browsers.
I use two browsers, one prone to crashing (but it's pretty fast and powerful)
and one that's not (but it's a memory hog). I'm logged into BL on both; I'd
like my shopping cart(s) to be visible in both.
Currently shopping carts are married to a buyer via a buyer_id, so I don't see
that this could be that big a stretch from where the system is now.
I'd also like carts to remain valid for a week or a month rather than a day of
inactivity - it takes me a while to get my act together, and the number of times
that I've given up shopping because the cart got cleared out underneath
me is greater than the number of times I've gone through with an order. This
would increase sales.

The problem is currently the cart is on the client side. This would require it
be server side.

Not true. If you paste the appropriate link into a completely different browser,
up comes the store with all of your cart in it. It's on the server side. It's
just not exposed to us on the client side.

Hey, you're right! That's cool. I had figured that it was on the client side
as well, though this wouldn't really matter for the suggestion. (I mean, it would
make the process of implementing the suggestion different, but the suggestion
is a good one regardless.)
Hrm ... now I want to test some ideas...

I'm sure everyone here is aware of this fact, but the longer you keep your cart
open without purchasing, the more chance there is of someone happening to buy
one or more of the parts in your cart.
