| This would actually go along way in helping me figure out where parts are, older
vs recently acquired, by showing the date. This would be shown only to the seller,
much like 'remarks'.
I know that i can check each individual part IF i still have them in my inventory,
but when someone buys the whole lot, any info is long gone.

You can make it not be gone.
When listing an item, check the box marked "Retain After Sold Out". That way,
if someone orders all of a lot, instead of having an X in the amount remaining
on the order, you have a Zero, which is a link to the item in your inventory
(now in a stockroom).
You can also set this as part of your default sell options here http://www.bricklink.com/invOptionsAdd.asp
(Last checkbox in the first section).

What's also nice is that it shows the date you last sold the item.
