Who would want to discuss politics on a lego selling website, it has nothing
to do with it. The discussion forums are wild enough 🤦‍♂️

Which boxes do you typically keep and which go in the bin?

I rarely keep boxes, only some that I really like (Pirates of Barracuda Bay for
example)

For the large boxes I don't keep I cut them down into strips so when I sell
instruction booklets I put 2 pieces around the book so it doesn't get warped/damaged
during shipping

Still love the variant changes, there's so many super-small changes in variants
that it fills the site with multiple listings with small # listings/sales that
it confuses both the buyers and sellers, with a lot of sellers mixing those variants
anyway.

The only one in the first mold-variant link posted I'm really mixed on is
the Part 3747b one, I feel like that's enough of a difference that it should
keep separate, otherwise 👍👍

there's no way I'm paying double/triple now for it.

Guess I'll wait for the part list and buy the pieces for it ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hello, I was looking at the Special Assembly category

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=961

And I was wondering how do you make one for the catalog?

I wanted to make a few for some different assemblies, like the Minecraft Iron
Golem figure.

In the Game category, there should be sub-categories, like 'Bionicle'
and 'LEGO Games', but I think they would add it anyway if someone used
the 'Add or Change' feature and set it up ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Right now for the Hero Factory theme, there are 3 categories (Heroes,Villains,Vehicles).

I was wondering if each release wave theme could get its own sub-category (Breakout,
Brain Attack, Invasion from below, ETC...)

I can use the catalog add/change feature, just wondering if it should be done
first.

I have this set with the 16x32-

Set No: 3825 Name: Krusty Krab
*
3825-1 (Inv) Krusty Krab
286 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2006
Sets: SpongeBob SquarePants

And I also have a 32x32 one from the Lego Store I got last year.

Putting them side-by-side, the 16x32 one is darker compared to the 32x32 one.

In Colors, crazylegoman writes:
This past week at Brickworld Indy I noticed that all of my tan 16X32 baseplates
were a different shade of tan than all of my 32X32 tan baseplates.

Part No: 3857 Name: Baseplate 16 x 32
*
3857 Baseplate 16 x 32
Parts: Baseplate
My tan 32X32 BPs appear to be the same color as any tan brick or other regular
part in tan. However, all of my 16X32 BPs are slightly darker and more yellow.
The difference was, of course, most noticeable when I had the BPs right next
to each other on my display.

The tan 16X32 BP has been in 16 sets over the years, 14 of which were from 1996
to 2002. I have bought all of my tan 16X32 BPs from various sources, and they
are all the same not-quite-LEGO-tan color. There were a couple of Spongebob
sets in 2006 and 2008 that had a tan 16X32 BP. I imagine that none of my BPs
are new enough to be from those most recent sets.

I was wondering, does anyone out there have any tan 16X32 BPs that you know are
from the Spongebob sets, and can verify if they match the shade of other tan
LEGO parts?

Thanks,
David

Is there anywhere that I can find a set inventory broken down by bag number?
I have found all 5 bags in the set Palpatine's arrest. One of the bags
is open from what looks like wear. I would like to verify that that bag is complete
without having to open the other bags for a complete inventory.

Hopefully I have made sense in my explanation of what I am seeking...and thank
you to anyone who may have the answer to my question.
BIll

You could look up the instructions and go through each step in that bag number
piece-by-piece. Not the most efficient but should work but excludes the extra
parts.

I'm new to the Bricklink community. Probably like many, I was into legos
when I was growing up, then stopped when I reached high school and now have kids
of the right age so I'm getting back into them.

I've bought a few sets of missing pieces so far on Bricklink. What was built
here never ceases to amaze me. It strikes me that one thing that's missing
is a way for creators to make money on their own custom sets. There is a very
old discussion topic on Affiliate Marketing which doesn't look like it went
anywhere. This idea is tangentially related.

It would be great if a builder could encode their design into a bricklink shopping
cart and then when people purchase the legos from the shopping cart or custom
set, the creator of the set could get some referral cost of the legos purchased.
This could give a huge boost to the lego community by empowering creators to
design and sell their own designs and could help increase cost per brick for
the sellers. At the same time, it would allow the common builder access to a
much wider array of sets to build.

I know some sellers have MOCS that they release what pieces are needed, and then
sell the instructions for that MOC.

That way they get some money off their creations.

Looks like the only new pieces are the Figure Torsos and Santa's printed
face piece.
The set also comes with 4 instruction booklets. I also have a photo of the figures
someone if someone could add them to the catalog.

Thanks

Do you have an original copy of the set?

Yes

If you opened it when it was sealed and have been careful with the parts, you
could do the inventory yourself and use Sealed Set Contents as the source.

Most of the data is autofilled for you when you use the "Manual" form:

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvAdd.asp

After that it's just a question of adding some minifigs and extras, and checking
the inventory against the parts that actually came in your set.

I got the set used, so can't guarantee 100% accuracy (Looks like it complete,
even comes with extra parts).

Also the whole 'catalog add or change' features confuse me, so that's
why I posted the parts list from the instructions, so someone whos used to doing
that can submit the parts forum.
