I know it is confusing, but Iceland is not part of the EU. Yes it is Europe,

Maybe we can contact Pierogi from scammer payback or Jim Browning to make an
item about this kind of scam. And put the video out on the website with a warning.

I`m not saying I will not fall for it, but I always save my username and password
in my browser. If the browser does not automatically come with my credentials,
then I go in maximum save guard. Usually closing all tabs from that website and
typing in the correct url to see what is wrong with my saved credentials.

I don’t envy the task that management has ahead of them, but they need to take
some substantive action soon.

But what kind of “substantive action” can BrickLink take?

Buy the website names that may look like bricklink.com?  The 3 millions of them
(org, .net, .«country», etc., briklink, brickslink, bricklinck, etc., brıcklınk.com¹,
briϲklink.com², etc.)?

MFA?  They did that with OTP.

Mandatory OTP?  They did that last week.  It’s annoying and people are opting
out (like you did at first).

Send messages?  They did that.
But they only talked about “brickslink” (or was it “bricklinks”?) and you almost
got caught by one of the 2,999,999 others.  Should they send a list of the 3
millions possibilities?

Put a warning on the front page?  One that can also be faked and diverted by
phishers?

Okay, what they could do is have a 24/7 helpdesk and quick procedures to at least
block an account… but then how do you ensure these procedures are fast and secure
and not abused?  Another round of passwords and MFA?  Another procedure that
can be copied / faked on a phishing website like they copied the OTP one?

In the end, phishing is a problem that can’t be avoided without the user being
diligent, without the user taking action.

Strange they reopend the store while admin closed it.
My opinion is, you should report it again. Until you have control back at your
account it should stay closed.

confirmed this to me in an email. They also told me to get the VAT back from

I am willing to die on this hill. So how do I get my VAT back? I can log a claim
with PayPAl to get my VAT back, I doubt this will work. And I can file a chargeback
with my Bank. Other ideas?

But I will move heaven and earth to sort this out. And Bricklink have a responsibility
here to support me with this. The seller's hands are tied as well.

If I can remember correctly you can read Dutch.
I think Dutch tax authorities (belastingdienst) are quite clear about this situation.
They even give an example which can apply to Lego and your situation as well.

https://www.belastingdienst.nl/wps/wcm/connect/nl/internetaankopen/content/ik-moet-te-veel-invoerrechten-betalen-voor-mijn-pakket-uit-het-buitenland-wat-kan-ik-doen

I`m not aware if such helpful pages do exist for Irish citizens, but since it
is also EU the same rules might apply for you as well.

And yes I stand with you, BrickLink should address those problems and acknowledge
the problems and the recommendations from the EU. But even if they handle this
situation correctly for the future it does not help your case for now.

Hi,

I always see a difference between CENTER / CENTRE, depending surely where the

See it as a kind of "verlan", but less complicated than the version used

I’m hoping that someone can offer some suggestions that I have not tried yet.
I have set # 7720. It was sitting in the basement for years. There is corrosion
on the metal conductors. I have used white vinegar and baking soda paste which
worked a bit. I also tried Coke but that was not so successful. I popped all
new batteries in and it is not working. There’s still some corrosion so that
might be the problem. Has anyone ever had this issue? What did you use? Did it
work when you were done?

I would appreciate any advice. I would hate to just have to part out this classic
set.

Karen

Sounds your on the right track. If your vinegar still turns green after the bath,
it is not ready yet. Make sure the parts are not wet anymore before putting new
batteries in. Otherwise motor pieces will die before working again. If they are
completely dry and ready for testing spray (a small) bit of WD40 on the contacts
and in the motor.

Thanks Sylvain for the EU article.

that

No, that’s illegal in EU.

To be able to put an item on sale, the item must have been in your store for
the base price the month (30 days) before.  The base price is the lowest price
that was effective during these 30 days.

Example:
If you propose an item at €1.00 for 30 days, then you can have it on sale for
20% at €0.8 on day 31.

If, in the last 30 days, the item was at €0.90, even for a single day, then your
sale isn’t 20%, it’s 11.11% (0.8/0.9*100%).

And, of course, if the product was always at €0.8, then selling it again at €0.8
is not a sale at all!

Just an advice and not to harm you.

But you can look into you shipping table.
I tried to make an order but got confused about the shipping costs.

Your Terms and conditions says a small letter within the Netherlands would cost:
€0,96
Your Shipping policy say it costs: €4,50
And when checking-out with auto checkout it says: €1.01

Also your sale in your banner says 15% off while you advertise on the forum with
20%

You say in your terms:
  i'm only a human

So take this as an advise.

Example: Just paid a member within the EU, for some heads. Having never transacted
with this member before, I initially thought the price good. Silly me. At least
they only used one of the two available "additional charges" columns

In moving forward, what I typically do is create a note for the member (collected
quite a few over the years) so that the next time I am pondering a buy with them,
I’ll know to factor these types of costs (shipping rate and additional charges)
before pulling the trigger. For me it’s that simple.

I gotta say though, that it's been buyer experiences like this, that have
motivated me early on to structure our selling practice with no additional charges
and low shipping costs, to the point that we often subsidize the shipping by
a small amount. I'd rather bake any ancillary costs into our prices than
hit the buyer with them afterwards.

Is it really that terrible? With all the governments wanting a piece of the action
in international business. Probably paid via Paypal who charges on every cent
transfered (so also the tax piece) and requiring at least tracking.

Try to send this order by your standards back to Europe. Your shipping costs
also start with $14,95. Do you eat the paypal fee over the government tax (in
europe around 25%) and shipping yourself?

Do know, in Europe (or EU at least) there is a free cancallation for all orders
not picked up locally. So you can cancel your order if you don`t want it.

Does anyone know of gloves that would be better? Or perhaps you have a better
solution?

I'm facing a 6,020 piece set I bought to build during Christmas vacation.

Thanks!

Maybe a solution is to get the room you are building in at the correct temperature.
When I build in a room that is to cold my hands and fingers got brittle and paralyzed.
They crack like paper. But when room temperature is correct nothing happens
and I can enjoy building.

few days the user paid the order. Another few days later, just before I sent

user had opened a dispute saying that he had not made the purchase.
Comparing the names of paypal and bricklink accounts, I imagine that a boy placed

purchase. In the problem order section I have no options, as the order is paid,
so I wanted to know how to proceed to cancel the order and refund it (I have
not shipped anything so I have no problem to refund) without paying fees or (if
possible) having any negative feedback canceled.
Thank you in advance for your help.

Chargebacks are lazy users, who blame they have no control over their kids to
the sellers. Worst cast Paypal will take your money and charge another high fee
on top of that for "investigion"

Refund it, report the account to Bricklink for underage AND fraude. Start a NPB
proces, finish it after the time sitout to protect your feedback and give apropiate
feedback after that.

In addition: You might want to give the feedback earlier, to warn other seller.

For the lazy reply, for people who feel offended by it. The proper way to solve
this is to contact the seller via bricklink, write what happend and work things
out with the seller. By jumping to your creditcard company you will get the creditcard
company and Paypal charge (extra) high fees, while clearly the parent should
fix what their kid did wrong, and maybe reimburse the costs which comes with
it.

If studio will go the professionalization side they probably will need to support
3d mice as well. I never got used to the zoom settings of solidworks (or any
drawing program), so I switched to the 3d mouse early.
For the connecting large assemblies they probably need a function to connect
by surface and axles.
In the beginning when studio got launched (I never used LDD), I sticked to drawing
lego in Solidworks, since it was also my profecion. I was way faster using solidworks.
But now many years down the line I completely switched to studio for lego creations
(although I still like building it from scratch out of a pile of lego). That`s
mainly because the community with a large fanbase adds parts faster than I can
draw them.

Thanks community!

In Designer Program, FastBuildinFred writes:
I'm pretty new to Studio 2.0 and its been years since I used LDD, but as
an Engineering Student I've gotten very used to the PTZR (Pan Tilt Zoom Rotate)
system that normal CAD programs such as SOLIDWORKS use. I added a GIF of me moving
around a SOLIDWORKS assembly.

I think there are two main differences between Studio and SOLIDWORKS. In SOLIDWORKS
you can zoom to the cursor (like Google Maps). You can see me zoom on each triangle
in the GIF just by moving the cursor (then using the scroll wheel to zoom).

You can also rotate the viewpoint around an object instead of the point in space
by beginning your dragging on the point you want to use as your center. You can
see the second one in SOLIDWORKS in the GIF I attached where I am rotating around
the pink point (which is where I began my drag (SOLIDWORKS uses the scroll for
the rotate tool, but which button does what isn't a big deal).

This has made it problematic and extremely annoying to use the PTZR system that
Studio uses (and iirc the PTZR system that LDD used). I have only seen one other
post on this topic, I'm assuming because many people are used to LDD's
PTZR and don't encounter this issue.

Am I alone in hating the PTZR of Studio? Would the Studio devs be interested
in adding an optional PTZR system like SOLIDWORKS? PLEASE? I BEG IM GOING INSANE.
Alternatively if you're not a dev, any suggestions like a hotkey to swap
the center of rotation to a certain part (I think LDD had this).

Best,
Fred
