  Hi,
I am wondering if anyone knows how the "Issue Refund" button in an order
works. I had a couple inventory errors, and I want to provide my buyer with a

Thanks in advance

When you click on it you get brought to another screen that lets you choose how
much you want to refund from .01 to full value and select the reason why

Okay, Great
Thanks so much

Hi,
I am reopening my store after a few years, and while I was listing inventory
again, I noticed that the listing process is a bit cumbersome. I have lots of
experience in software development now, and I am building a chrome extension
to make listing as fast as possible. Some features I will be including are:

You will navigate in the Bricklink catalog to an item. Click the "Add to
Inventory" link, which will open the extension's popup

The popup will have a single form that will list all the colors available for
the selected catalog item with 6 month average sales prices and an input for
quantity. This will allow you to add all colors of the part all at once.

Once submitted, the item will be added to store inventory in all colors with
a quantity above 0, at the 6 month average sales price.

Later I can add more customizability features.

Bricklink blocks requests from their own address with the CORS policy, so I will
have to build a Proxy api with a database to manage API keys.

Because the proxy makes things more complicated, I think I will use React.js
to build the interface in the popup. I would have a settings page where users
can add/update api keys. this page would be password protected with JWT.

Voice your inputs. I think this would be a welcome feature for sellers to increase
profitability, I am interested if other sellers think the same, or what features
they think would be bennificial.

are large scale commercial sorting services for bricks. For giggles I used a
sorting system manufactured for a client to sort my tub of bricks. First by color
and then by brick, plate and tile. The sort lasted 1 hour, the programming a
few days.

I ask the community if such a service exists? If not, I wonder if I could provide
a service that would sort by color, part, type. You would ship a box, we would
sort into bags of same parts. If desired also by color. If desired a washing
service could be provided. The concept perhaps 1 cent per part service. I would
need to sort 50 million bricks to cover my investment alone. Somewhere around
1/4 million us pounds.

My tub of 10,000 parts would have cost me $300 to be washed and bagged by part
type and color. Much less than I spent.

I'm a programmer; mostly in Node.js (Javascript, React.js, MySQL). I think
a better business model would be to offer this service as a web subscription
ie, license it. Sell hardware (scanner) and charge a monthly access fee for the
software. Say $500 or so. This would be an enterprise product. And then you could
charge less for small stores to reduce the barrier to entry. maybe 1/2 cent per
part scanned until it caps at $500 every 30 days or month.

As far as the software goes, logically, each part would need to be 3D scanned
with something like lidar and compared to a 3D modal. Perhaps this modal could
be harvested from Studio through an API.
when the scan is compared to the 3d modal it would identify the part and determine
the condition. Cameras could be used to determine color.

I don't see why this wouldn't be possible. Lots of code, but fairly cheap
to do if you are a programmer or have a business partner who is a programmer.
you could build one scanner prototype and test it until it works.

Big stores would eat this up because they could move product like nobody's
business!
I also think another opportunity is to integrate a syncing service between bricklink
and brickowl with a friendly UI in a web app.

Totally cool. Excited to see where this goes!

An identifier hardware/software like this already exists. Piqabrick / instabrick.

Identification of probably 98% of parts in a joblot for an experienced seller
is not the slow part. The slow part is the actual sorting / batching and storing
/ putting the bricks in the right place.

That's a good point. Something that would work would be to use a "filter"
technique. First dump in completely unsorted parts and sort them into main categories
(all types of bricks, all types of plates/tiles, specialty, everything else).
Then sort each of those bins. say if it's the bricks, sort it into regular
bricks and modified bricks and just go down the line.

Even if it only sorted 60% of the different parts at first, there is still room
for such a product on the market as it still saves significant time. It is also
scalable.

You cannot put it on IDEAS and sell instructions, that breaks their rules. Even
if it got to 10k votes, LEGO are unlikely to approve a Modular. They can come
up with ideas for Modulars without needing help.

I was kind of think it would break the rules. I just haven't read them yet.
And I know ideas modular buildings always get declined, part of me thinks that
maybe the previous ones just weren't good enough. But it would make sense
that they get declined because LEGO already had designers for them and then they
don't have to pay a royalty. But then there was market street back in the
day... so maybe there is a chance. Also, you would think that if they were not
going to ever accept a modular, they would just not let them through initial
moderation.

Hi, I cannot figure out how to access the Bricklink API.

If someone could show me how to access the API in JavaScript and PHP that would
be great.

I'm using React. I think I figured out how to do it with JavaScript/React.
I think the reason I was getting CORS errors was bc I was using HTTP and not
HTTPS. I need to know how to consume the API with PHP though and I'm not
having much luck finding out how. I'm new to OAuth too btw.

In my continual quest to make your lives marginally better, I have just now put
together a list with photos of the different types of figures the LEGO Group
has produced over the years.

This list is not yet official and will change. It will have more detailed descriptions
of figures and hopefully better photos. It will also move from the current location
to an unknown location in the Catalog Help Center section. Or, of course, it
could also get shot down.

I have also asked that the item type Minifigs be retitled to Figures
in light of the wide range of figures of all different sizes we include in this
one section - no word on if this will happen or not. So the six item types would
be:

Sets
Parts
Figures
Books
Catalogs
Gear

This is truly a sneak peak for everyone - the people at the BrickLink office
haven't even seen it yet:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=88

Your thoughts on this list and the item type retitle? Do you find this list
of figure types useful or is it something not needed?

I like it! It just helped me learn a few things! I do think that you need to
get rid of the repeat after the title though.

This already exists, use your default selling settings: https://www.bricklink.com/invOptionsAdd.asp

I didn't see any setting for adding individual items. There is only one
for parting out sets.

I fully agree. However I chose to do the work and spent almost 2 hours going

too slow update on Brickstock made it impossible to use that handy programme.

my babies better! Just like the flags, LEGO does not differentiate the baby
heads and as far as I know, nobody complained about the new baby head catalog
entry. I just added a new mould of a Pretzel with Flat Bottom to the catalog.
i hope nobody has a bird over this!

is that their is no information as to where these colors originated, what sets
they are in, or the time they were released.

I have a new pretzel mould with a flat bottom, that should have it's own
catalog entry. Right now it is listed in the catalog under the older pretzel
mould as an alternate item number (34094), but it is a new part. I had the new
baby head with a neck before it was released in sets and received it's own
catalog entry too!
