| Thank you for your quick responses. I think you are correct about part 973p42c01,
but the gold is gone with time.

| This is the last piece to ID from a bulk collection that I've now cataloged.
However, I cannot find this torso in the BrickLink inventory. This doesn't
come up when searching for "Sheild," "Red Torso," or in the Castle
series. All the shields, crests, and coats of arms there have some design, they
are not just black with a blue border.
Thanks for your help.

| Thank you again.
I suppose that motor got broken apart at some point. Not a piece that is of value
all by itself then.

|
| I have part 32270 (Technic, Gear 12 Tooth Double Bevel) in old gray - both Dark
Gray and Light Gray. They were clearly two different shades of the old gray colors.
All the Light Gray parts I had sold a long time ago. My Dark Gray gears aren't
moving at all.
Now I see that 32270 doesn't come in Dark Gray - officially. But a few others
have also listed this part in DARK Gray.
Why isn't this part officially listed as Dark Gray?

| Interesting responses. Thanks.
It never even occurred to me that this might be a "short shot".
Quality didn't catch this and it end up in someone's box.

| Hello Everyone,
Is that a Lego variant on 60208? I don't find a 60208 with an irregular edge
like this one. I would think that this piece is just broken, but the edges are
so smooth and the "break" is symmetric on both sides. The smoothness of the jagged
edge makes me think it was manufactured this way.
|
This could be one of those parts that did not had enough plastic filling in the
mold, too short of plastic.
There is a name for such parts, I forgot it.
|
“Short shot.”
| I believe there are collectors for these things.
So, indeed, a factory issue.

| These are problematic. They are badly discolored. I've gotten complaints
from buyers for sending discolored bricks, so I don't. They might be a loss.
I've tried Hydrogen Peroxide 50% with water 50% and sunlight. Sometimes that
works, but sometimes you get what are called white blooms. An uneven lightening
of the plastic that makes it equally discolored. H2O2 works well on white and
trans-clear but it is very hit and miss on old gray. Ensuring the bricks remain
fully submerged 100% of the time seems to help avoid white blooms.
I've recently heard of this new method called RetrOBright (google it), but
I've not tried it.

I have a dark gray sword, looks like a Katana. But the only one's listed
have an Octoganol or Square guard. This is definitely a round guard only. Is
this LEGO?
