  Hello,
[p=553b]

I see that the old 553b Blocked Stud has been merged with the much newer 3626
Vented Stud.

Thanks,

I really hope that this is not a merge that will take place
Minifigs could end up looking really weird.

  Hello there!

I live in Germany and on december 8th 2023 i bought something from a seller in
the Netherlands.

on december 18th i get the following message:

from: *censored* Sent on: Dec 18, 2023 10:04
It was shipped last week but I forgot to set it on shipped.

Track & trace-code
3SKABAcensored

A day later i check the trace link and the Name in the adress field only has
my first name in it (see picture) I immediately contact the seller and ask him
to contakt PostNl to have them fix the adress. Hey replys with "That is something
PostNL did, not me. But I send them a message."

Then nothing happens until January 2nd the trace link updates to "delivery
failed" without any delivery atempt or a message in my post box to go get
the package at my lokal post office or something.

I contact seller again. For the next 24 days he asures me to contact posnl and
have them investigate where the package is because as u can see in the immage
it took post nl a while to sort everythin out. On January 26th seller contacts
me the package has arrived at his place again. And a big white sticker was covering
the rest of my name but for 12,50€ he would resend it to me.

Here my question: do i have to pay again for shipping?
If we cancel the order: can i only get back what i payed w/o shipping fee?

He states that in his Terms he stats "shipping on your risk" is that
even legal here on bricklink? afaik seller takes shipping risks.
What should i do now?

thanks a lot!
Leo

If indeed the seller put on the correct address and PostNL (or it's partner)
messed that up then the seller can claim the original shipping with PostNL.
With that he can pay for a second chance on shipping

And the seller could not have corrected the address with PostNL once it is shipped

Although the fault lies with PostNL (or partner) they are not willing to correct
mistakes that they make while shipping is in progress.

76959 Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Hollow Round Bottom Tube

Fixed.

That's good thank you.
But how did this (and the glass) happen?
Is it some side effect from the changes that already are being made?
And if so can we expect more of these kinds of issues?

Too late for me.... but that is a genuine warning BL should have send out to
all members like the 'we are going to change some stuff' by direct mail
a couple of days back

Maybe to late to be informed, but since the items we're changed, your BS
had updated the database. Otherwise you would have had no message and all items
in the bsx would still have the 'old' number and description.

Just make sure that if there are any variants in those files where you want to
make sure you get what you want (eg blocked open instead of hollow stud) add
a remark to those lots.

76959 Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Hollow Round Bottom Tube

Strange because it was visible in the list and no error message was given.

Ah, now I see it says on the part's page that "Cannot add to inventory".
Why exactly?

Hmm, strange, it's not on he list of variants that are going to be merged.
Can't find anything in the forum about it as well.
Maybe it's considered as a variant not important enough to be distinct from
the normal 3660 (Slope, Inverted 45 2 x 2 with Hollow Round Bottom Tube), but
in that case that description should have been changed.

And 3660old would be weird as well, since the hollow tube variant is not old

Maybe a catalog admin can shed some light on the matter.

Yes, I did the manual update.

It contains some B and C parts as 3942c, 3957b, 4081b, 4623b but these are not
effected by the merge, at least these aren't in the list.

I don't know then

Maybe you could manually add the couple lots missing to the Wanted-List if you
know which they are?

Or wait a couple days maybe, I'm sure they're fixing many things as of
right now.

Last line it states 32 unique lots, is it possible there are 2 duplicates?

but if you have the template customized you can make it work by removing the
tag [COMMENTS] and [/COMMENTS] in this page:

https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/message_templates.page#/1

Leave you custom instructions on the template

Seems that you have to change the tag to

{seller's additional comments}

This tag is the only one that has both opening and closing brackets. Enter any
additional default comments here, for example your paypal address. When generating
an invoice, the additional comments between the tags will be shown inside a text
area box which you can later add additional comments to. So it's default
additional comments plus additional comments. You may also enclose any of the
above tags in between the comments tags, for example: Please send grand total
to paypal address test@test.com

That is the same error happening in the help page:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=661

Old view:

https://web.archive.org/web/20210506172548/https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=661

PD: Tried with the {} and it didn't work either.

Put the {seller's additional comments} just behind the Comments end tag.
worked for me.

At 15:47 local time (6 hours ago) it was working fine.
After that the tags got broken.
But the first reported issues we're from before that, so it doesn't to
break at the same time for different people

As far as I now have tested there is no need for any tag/macro.
My template uses payment type and country of origin for different texts.
They now seem to work fine without the 'comment' and 'seller's
additional comments'

Now hope it doesn't get broken again

No matter what.

This Wednesday I (we?) received a BL message regarding the upcoming change.
With a link to a Help Page. Nice.
Until I clicked it....

If a seller wants to 'add a short line of text' for each lot affected,
sellers need to enterl more than 4000 numbers to check IF they are in their inventory.
And than manually editing the NOTE field.

This will take every seller hours of entering numbers, checking the results,
editing note-fields en checking for the edits to be correctly made.

Urgent request: can BL please provide a script or simple change page where
this actions can be (partially) automated?

Question for Admin_Russell: what happens exactly with my affected inventory entries
when nothing is changed on the sellers end?

With Notepad++, Excel and BrickStore it took less than an hour to update 416
lots.
No need to go through every single item, this way you can update all 30387pbxxx
(for example_ in 1 go, same with 3626b**** and 3626c****

in rekening brengt. En zeker 6% is wel erg veel.

Would you be kind enough to post a copy of the macro script. I think I may have
messed it up and I'm not great with html. Even if yours is a custom script
for the order invoice that is ok.

Go and edit the template.
Copy/paste the whole text to notepad (or something else, just make sure yo have
a backup).
Then at the bottom of the edit page you can delete your custom template.
Now you can start with the default template

I asked a while back but it was inside of a different thread so maybe it didn't

In some macro tags, there is a value for shipping method. This would allow us
to customize the drive through message and to give our buyers the correct links.

However, I tried using the name we have for a method, with and without the curly
brackets, also tried changing the name of the method to eliminate empty spaces
and replace them with dashes (-) and none of that worked.

As an example, we have a method that is called "DHL Express" (without
the quotes)

I tried using "DHL-Express" and that didn't work either.

It's the 4th method in our shipping methods so I tried using just "4"
and that didn't work either.

Is there something I'm missing? (probably)

If so, what is it, where do I see the shipping method ID?

I'm looking at the conditional macro SHIPMETHODID-EQ:{value} if that helps.

I think you need the actual (database) ID of the shipping method.

And while waiting for the approval, take a look at your store terms

Shipping Policy: Bock's Bricks only ships to the United States.
Store Ships To: All Countries Worldwide
Shipping Methods:

"If an error with the order is found, and we cannot work out a reasonable
solution, buyer pays return shipping and the purchase price for the items returned
will be refunded. There will also be a 10% restocking fee for returned items."

So you, as seller, make a mistake that you cannot resolve, you want the buyer
to pay for all shipping and deduct a 10% fee?
I'm not sure how well that goes with potential buyers.

"After the shipment has been made, Bock's Bricks is no longer responsible
for damage during the shipping process."

Seller is held accountable for the order until buyer states it has been received
(in good order).

In elke shipping methode zit een "Show estimated fees on:"

Have you looked into this file?

Also, shouldn’t you ask Bricksync’s author?

That will not be easy.
Stragius made it open source a few years back and then left. Not sure what he
was going o do, but as I remember it was something far away from computers and/or
internet.
There are some people that maintain it (and doing a very good job a that), but
that is not going much further than making sure new colors get added.
