  WHAT I SEEK

There are some ways of doing this.

#1, Let the retailer specify how much space there is, and somehow be able to
fill that virtually in some way?

It's rare that the order is space constraint; much more likely that adding
more bricks will bring it up to the next weight band. That information is already
shown in your shopping basket or at checkout. Some sellers even have this in
their payment instruction message: "your order currently weighs x grams; you
can add upto y grams for the same shipping cost".

In practice, I've never really considered these factors when choosing what
to order extra. Only things like: will this become a package or stay a small
envelope.

#2, Be able to provide a list to the retailer, and ask, to fill what you can
of these. Perhaps in any order or priority??

That's what the wanted lists are for and for you to choose.

#3, Be able to split my wishlist, into these priorities.

You can use as many wanted lists as you like, be it a single one or a hundred.
When in a shop, you can toggle these separate lists on and off.

These 4 instructions are identical, but have different part numbers on Bricklink.
(and as was also mentioned for the minifig series instruction).

It can only be addressed by completely reprogramming the way the catalog database
functions in regards to instruction manuals. The chances of that happening anytime
in the foreseeable future is pretty close to nil.

I was thinking to suggest (mis)using a relation type like "Same Stickers with
Different Catalog Entries" but even that won't work since it does not allow
links between instructions entries. Instructions are really the strange beast
among part/sets/gear/books/minifigures.

but “teeth” for a few others
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?q=gear+teeth&catType=P&catID=
(mainly the new gear plates and the differentials).

Is there a rationale?  For both the difference and the use of the singular because
I’ve trouble understanding why it’s “tooth.”

As non-native English speaking Dutchman I would say everywhere it is more than
1 tooth it should be teeth

Why? In Dutch it's the same way: 8-tands tandwiel / tandwiel met 8 tanden.
(tands = singular + genitive 's' / tanden = plural)

TLG's policy. These were produced by a different branch of TLG (The LEGO

  Hi everyone,

I have a few large boxes of used lego, all unsorted, and want to list it all.
I'm wondering if anyone has the best idea/way to sort it all, as I want to
be most efficient in my time and cost-effective.

Any suggestions from the store owners that sell mainly used parts?

Thanks,
H DOGG BRICKS

Sort by BrickLink category first. (Bricks, Tiles, Technic, etc) Then lay each
category out where you can see everything. Using the Catalog page as a reference,
add each part with all the colors you have of it one at a time.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&catString=5

Store each category together so you can find your items, or use Remarks to label
where you are storing stuff.

It's a time-consuming process if you are not intimately familiar with LEGO
parts and our catalog, no doubt about it.

There's a page for difficult to identify parts:

https://www.bricklink.com/help.asp?helpID=2479

Also, read through the thread for catalog identification, as someone has undoubtedly
asked about the part you can't find already.

https://www.bricklink.com/messageList.asp?ID=34

Good luck,
Jen

Excellent advice, but I miss the first step:

When you have the big pile of unsorted parts in front of you, ask yourself: "What
is the biggest part or category of parts that I see many off?" For instance 'Panel
1x6x5' or 'Bricks 2x...'. Then pick those and put them in a pile
until you have most that can easily be seen. Repeat with the next biggest part
/ category. Repeat until done. Go from big to small. Go from broad category to
finer category or to specific parts. Split by color only in the very last round.

In every round you will spot parts that you ought to have picked in the previous
round. Pick those with your second hand if they are many, or put them in the
proper pile directly if there are few.

It has to do with what kind of extra images are available.

* means: additional images are available
! means: a 3D image is available

When there is neither of these symbols, no additional images are available which
is not so common nowadays.

I also cannot unmark the order as paid.

Has anyone had this issue in the past and if so I would appreciate any advice?

Thanks, Gary

Since the order total is printed in bold, that indicates the invoice has been
sent already. Perhaps automatically?

Toggle some more display settings through https://www.bricklink.com/orderSettingsCols.asp
so you can see all relevant columns.

Since the buyer is in the EU (and you are not), and the amount is under € 150,
Bricklink handles VAT. I'd say that would go through onsite payment, but
in this case maybe it even went through instant checkout. Have you setup some
instant checkout shipping methods? If so, eat your loss, fix the methods and
consider it lesson learned.

I just enabled VAT on BrickLink because I'm now required to. I have been
VAT registered for about 2 years and have been doing all previous sales in that
period with VAT.

But from what I can see, BrickLink will now consider 20% of my sales VAT (Danish
VAT percent is 25%, so 20% of the order total is VAT).

Due to sales of more than €10000 EU export in the past year, I have registered
for OSS. According to the Danish tax department, I should now use the customer's
local VAT percent on all orders, not the Danish, i.e. I should include 19% VAT
for German customers. I can't see anywhere that BrickLink supports this.

So how do I do this?

hebt.

The problem with a duplicate entry may be in *any* of your wanted lists, not
just in the one being edited. You have to find and fix that one duplicate entry
before you can edit any other thing.

Ik reageer even onderaan ..

Simpele oplossing [Ctrl+A] (alles selecteren) [Ctrl+1]
(celopmaak) [ ] Cellen samenvoegen (grijs vlakje / vinkje weghalen).
Celopmaak - Patroon - Geen. Dan zie je tenminste welke cellen samengevoegd
zijn en waarom.

Of: je kunt het de tab-separated-value-variant (TSV) gebruiken. Dan heb je de
meeste problemen met de opmaak niet.

Succes,

Hans-Peter

It really would help if the following changes / additions would be made for the
Order Download. An Excel download is of no use, for it's all in text mode.

In my Excel download, I would like to see:
- dates as a date record
- amounts and quantities as a digit record, amounts without currency sign
- a total of Order Cost
- an extra column for location (without state/province)

How nice would it be, that I can use Excel to calculate totals per country!

And if it's not too much, I would also like te be able to select EU and an
extra column EU for the download.

Diana

over.

My priorities as a buyer are for Bricklink:

[p=3068bpb1430] To have technically capable personnel that can solve technical
site issues adequately and swiftly. Often I wonder if there is anyone at Bricklink
who still knows about the old school web and database development. Quickly solving
many small issues in a sprint should not be hindered by the long term strategic
development of the site. The fact that Bricklink personnel is still portrayed
with a

*

Parts: Container
on their head on mfav's comic site is saying something. Compare
Studio where every month a lot of small issues are fixed (definitely not all,
alas), as opposed to Bricklink where hardly ever anything small is fixed at all
or only after years (e.g. packaging dimension on catalog item page).

[p=3068bpb1431] To change the policy on variants. Both sellers and buyers alike
should be able to specify whether or not they distinguish specific variants,
with smart default values for those who don't bother.

[p=3068bpb1432] Add an automatically maintained relationship part versus decorated
part. For newcomers, having to rely on the naming convention only is a steep
entry point. And for the pros, this relationship has its benefits as well.

None of the above is new, but it would be nice if at least something was taken
action upon. Or communicated about. I don't believe I've ever had a single
useful reply from Briklink (plenty from members ) on my suggestions / remarks
/ questions in the forum.

  Hello everybody,

I was offered a huge amount of Modulex for sale, but now I have problems with
pricing.

How do you sell that? does anyone still buy that? I'm really a little overwhelmed
by that.

It would be really great if someone could tell me something about that.

On the photos you can see part of the offer. In total there are over 90 boxes.
So really a lot.

Thanks in advance

Daniel

This article https://www.newelementary.com/2018/11/old-elementary-modulex-integration_15.html
made me buy some; so I think there is at least some market for it.

But then there is this https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=289408
that dwarfs even your 90 boxes.

I cannot see how to finetune this yearly overview any further.

Well, you can always use the catalog download page and filter in your own spreadsheet:

Stud.io is missing some parts from the Minifigure, Castle, Prince of Persia,
and some other History/Fantasy themed lines that I'm really interested in
for some stuff I'm working on.

Namely I'm looking for:

(Minifigure Theme)

Spartan Warrior
Samurai Warrior
Elf
Hazmat Guy
Viking
Gladiator
Roman Soldier
Minotaur
Viking Woman
Conquistador
Heroic Knight
Forest Maiden
Roman Emperor
Roman Commander
Warrior Woman
Battle Goddess
Hun Warrior
Snake Charmer
Samurai (Female)
King
Egyptian Warrior
Queen
Flying Warrior
Frightening Knight
Desert Warrior
Roman Gladiator
Tournament Knight
Viking (Remake)
Hercules

Does anyone know where I can download these? Surely someone has to have made
them. Same with the missing Castle, Prince of Persia, etc. themes. I know someone's
done it for Star Wars.

Thank you,
A Medieval Historian

The Studio Parts FAQ is here: https://forum.bricklink.com/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6368

There are currently around 9K parts in Studio against 64K on Bricklink. So not
all Studio files have been built yet.
