Would it be possible to enhance (or better yet, replace) the forum interface
to allow functionality like the following:

- Likes and other reactions to posts and comments (a sometimes useful indicator
of whether a view is widely shared or an outlier; and also enables people to
chime in without having to post their own "me too" comments)

- Ability to quote more than one prior comment (without having to do so totally
manually)

- Ability to reply to more than one comment if the prior comments are in different
sub-branches of the thread

- Ability to edit comments rather than cancelling them altogether and starting
over

It seems there are a good number of simple, plug-and-play forum software systems
around today that enable such features and much more without a whole lot of administrative
setup effort.

Thanks!

I would like the forum messages to have a YEA OR NAY vote button, but really
just a NAY. Buyers or sellers with at least a 250+ feedback can vote (all nay
posts moved to "off Topic". Then maybe the people that actually contribute
to the site will start using the forum again.

Bricklink is probably looking at it differently. Hypothetically, new user sets
this new feature once to help in their local search then forgets its set. Next
time they are looking for a rare item, opps none found (must not exist in inventory).

Wait a seller in Germany does have the item, but user is unaware.

Yes but it's maybe why he said "an option to save your search criteria",
in short, a checkbox somewhere "Remember my search parameters"...

But then, this may be called a Wanted-List and already exists.

Instead of searching, put something in a new (or a "misc" WL, and then
your search is saved for life

Poncke's attached image is in reference to the CATALOG item page. This has
nothing to do with saved searches or wish lists. If I understand it correctly,
the page is for doing a definitive search on a single item verse other methods.

That has been asked for many times.

Exactly, that's the whole point of his post... Can this be addressed, you
respond "move along - move along".

I'm pretty sure this already exists: https://www.bricklink.com/searchAdvanced.asp

Are we not talking about different screens. I thought we are talking about the
catalog page (saving the view), not saved searches. If there is somewhere to
save it can you explain, otherwise I'm confused.

I think it's just more a lack of communication. They sometimes have valid
reasons for rejecting suggestions, but don't disclose what those are and
everyone get frustrated. Just like this one just posted today, nobody will ever
know. Hell, I'm just wasting time even giving my two cents on the matter.

I'm very disheartened today. I received my first neutral feedback yesterday
and thought I did everything I could to make things right. While pulling the
order I found one small part that was slightly discolored. I notified the customer
and gave them a refund but let them have the part anyway incase they could use
it. I shipped the order and the customer recieved it quickly (even sent me an
email thanking me for shipping so quickly). Later I received an email that one
of the parts I sent (a 1x2 slope) was actually a MB brand. I try to make sure
all my used parts are LEGO but sometimes one may slip through. I replied to
them (through gmail) on Jan 29th and refunded them for the part. I thought everyting
was fine. Yesterday I received a neutral feedback stating I never replied or
did anything. You try your best to keep 100% praise then one customer kills it.

Chris
RC

Without seeing the order details (qty of parts, order total, rareness of parts
in question, etc), I can not say. Each case needs to be handled differently
depending on its complexity. As a seller I know when the part might be crucial
to the order or not and I will slash the shipping in half or email them and
ask for their input (would they like a full refund). Sometimes it's just
a quick note, hey I'm minus 1 on this part.

That being said if ever sent a customer a Mega blocks product I would give them
a full refund ASAP.

In Shipping, SmokeFreeStuds writes:
When re-selling a used set with the instructions included, if they were never
folded originally, is it acceptable to fold them when shipped with the set, or
is that frowned upon? I have some sets with larger instruction booklets, and
while the sets themselves may not take up much space, if I don't fold the
instructions then I would require a much larger box. If I were to fold the instructions
in half, is that something I am expected to disclose in the item listing, or
is folding instructions something that is generally acceptable and does not need
to be indicated?

Short answer is NO, but never introduce folds just to make shipping easier.

- Some small instructions are pre-folded by Lego and need to be left in that
original format.

- Others are perfectly in a half fold from Lego (these I unfold and package),
describing the 1/2 fold in description of item.

- Last are folds due to box / packaging damage / movement, and need to be listed
as Used with description of quality.

Hope this answered your question.

yeah annoying as ****! Hope they will fix this asap.

I found all updated part types (3062,3068,3069,3070) had errors and were blocked
out after doing an import from Bricklink to Brickstore. Then after going to
extras / update databases, everything imported just fine.

Change 3062b to 3062.

I think it is important to remember that Bricklink was created to be a marketplace
to buy and sell LEGO. It was not created to be a bible or a reference guide;
that is just a side effect. And it is a problem that too many see Bricklink as
a Bible; many take it too literally, and forget that it is full of errors, or
that many sets and minifigs were produced with several part variants. Lots of
those are not reflected in the catalogue.

I agree with all the changes that has been planned now, and I hope that more
variants are being merged in the future.

Helge

+ ONE

- One of the complaints here is always "PLEASE DON'T CHANGE THIS OR THAT"

- Second complaint is your change broke my whatever, maybe (SYNC Software) which
enables me to sell on other platforms.

- Third is always the site is so "Old and Outdated", when are you going
to make some changes.

Dam, 16 feedback (8 as seller and 8 as buyer) and you want to run Bricklink.
Bionicle has been put to bed, so thanks to all those old timers that contributed
to the bricklink database. It's time to move on and look forward to the
changes to come.

  Hey there.
I received a neutral feedback from a new member of Bricklink. I do not agree
with the feedback as I messaged the person BEFORE the order was sent and the
description also mentioned that instructions were not included, yet he left feedback
that my description is misleading. If he would have read the entire description
he would have noticed that I mentioned instructions were not included, and I
also wrote a message through BL messenger that the instructions were not included
before sending the item to him. There was no response to any communication I
sent him. Is there a way to dispute feedback?

Thanks!

Strong sellers are going to just take unwarranted feedback on the chin. Communication
is king especially before you ship or at the time you ship the order. Best just
save all your energy on making you store the best it can be.

3) manually to through the 4.394 parts effected and add notes?

Some explanation would be nice.

+1

Before lots were moved to "marked for deletion" and sellers moved them
over manually or not. Not sure why instructions are not being given on what
seems to be a new process. I made a list of effected lots and made sure my data
is backed up via Brickstore. My only question is are remarks going to be retained
if lots are merged automatically.

Bricklink only includes what stores charge overall. Paypal used to have this
until Ship Station took over, and they don't have this option. Any suggestions?

For anyone reading this, we found best practice is to add actual shipping cost
to "My Note on Order".

Then at end of year you can download all order Data into a spreadsheet then total
that column.

https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/1066447?hl=en&co=GENIE.Platform%3DAndroid

to access any site after the login and password , the user has to enter the numbers

I think you have already thought about it !

Do we need suggestions from users on how to improve the site that have never

Its usually someone very critical of something, seems fishy to me.

My feedback was honest and true. I even have the message history to prove it,
including the store trying to "bribe" me to change my feedback to positive...
This shouldn't be allowed...

An honest reply to this post by other sellers is going to be "Stop List"
you.

Can anyone help ID this part because it does not have a number on it. On the
back, it looks like the numbers were glued or burn off at some point. The marks
are precise so perhaps this was done in the factory?

when the clip is broken?

This part is not usable at all with a broken clip. I also believe that the price
of this piece gets inflated due to sellers selling a broken part.

I understand that sellers have the right to sell anything LEGO in their shops
as long as it is clearly stated in the description if something is wrong with
the part.

Seriously though, who is going to buy a useless part? It cannot hold up the
Super Battle Droid or any other droid.

Can someone please explain this to me?

Cass T

Totally get it... It's like the list of criteria that most sellers used to

discard damaged / broken / mis-aligned stickers parts / yellowing, etc. are in
the comments section of these others sellers. I know this does not apply to
rare parts, so you can stop typing.

I would throw any broken part away as I agree they are not usable if broken.
If the sellers price them low AND state they are broken then I only see it skewing
the price guide.

Are the ones you have bought broken listed as such?

Just like I said, please read my reply.
