| Would it be possible to enhance (or better yet, replace) the forum interface
to allow functionality like the following:
- Likes and other reactions to posts and comments (a sometimes useful indicator
of whether a view is widely shared or an outlier; and also enables people to
chime in without having to post their own "me too" comments)
- Ability to quote more than one prior comment (without having to do so totally
manually)
- Ability to reply to more than one comment if the prior comments are in different
sub-branches of the thread
- Ability to edit comments rather than cancelling them altogether and starting
over
It seems there are a good number of simple, plug-and-play forum software systems
around today that enable such features and much more without a whole lot of administrative
setup effort.
Thanks!

I would like the forum messages to have a YEA OR NAY vote button, but really
just a NAY. Buyers or sellers with at least a 250+ feedback can vote (all nay
posts moved to "off Topic". Then maybe the people that actually contribute
to the site will start using the forum again.

Bricklink is probably looking at it differently. Hypothetically, new user sets
this new feature once to help in their local search then forgets its set. Next
time they are looking for a rare item, opps none found (must not exist in inventory).
Wait a seller in Germany does have the item, but user is unaware.

Yes but it's maybe why he said "an option to save your search criteria",
in short, a checkbox somewhere "Remember my search parameters"...
|
| But then, this may be called a Wanted-List and already exists.
Instead of searching, put something in a new (or a "misc" WL, and then
your search is saved for life
|
Poncke's attached image is in reference to the CATALOG item page. This has
nothing to do with saved searches or wish lists. If I understand it correctly,
the page is for doing a definitive search on a single item verse other methods.
|
That has been asked for many times.
|
Exactly, that's the whole point of his post... Can this be addressed, you
respond "move along - move along".

I'm pretty sure this already exists: https://www.bricklink.com/searchAdvanced.asp

Are we not talking about different screens. I thought we are talking about the
catalog page (saving the view), not saved searches. If there is somewhere to
save it can you explain, otherwise I'm confused.

I think it's just more a lack of communication. They sometimes have valid
reasons for rejecting suggestions, but don't disclose what those are and
everyone get frustrated. Just like this one just posted today, nobody will ever
know. Hell, I'm just wasting time even giving my two cents on the matter.

You are correct.

I think if it was Glitter Trans-Light Blue you would see sparkles in the leading
edges.

| I'm very disheartened today. I received my first neutral feedback yesterday
and thought I did everything I could to make things right. While pulling the
order I found one small part that was slightly discolored. I notified the customer
and gave them a refund but let them have the part anyway incase they could use
it. I shipped the order and the customer recieved it quickly (even sent me an
email thanking me for shipping so quickly). Later I received an email that one
of the parts I sent (a 1x2 slope) was actually a MB brand. I try to make sure
all my used parts are LEGO but sometimes one may slip through. I replied to
them (through gmail) on Jan 29th and refunded them for the part. I thought everyting
was fine. Yesterday I received a neutral feedback stating I never replied or
did anything. You try your best to keep 100% praise then one customer kills it.

Without seeing the order details (qty of parts, order total, rareness of parts
in question, etc), I can not say. Each case needs to be handled differently
depending on its complexity. As a seller I know when the part might be crucial
to the order or not and I will slash the shipping in half or email them and
ask for their input (would they like a full refund). Sometimes it's just
a quick note, hey I'm minus 1 on this part.
That being said if ever sent a customer a Mega blocks product I would give them
a full refund ASAP.

| When re-selling a used set with the instructions included, if they were never
folded originally, is it acceptable to fold them when shipped with the set, or
is that frowned upon? I have some sets with larger instruction booklets, and
while the sets themselves may not take up much space, if I don't fold the
instructions then I would require a much larger box. If I were to fold the instructions
in half, is that something I am expected to disclose in the item listing, or
is folding instructions something that is generally acceptable and does not need
to be indicated?
|
Short answer is NO, but never introduce folds just to make shipping easier.
- Some small instructions are pre-folded by Lego and need to be left in that
original format.
- Others are perfectly in a half fold from Lego (these I unfold and package),
describing the 1/2 fold in description of item.
- Last are folds due to box / packaging damage / movement, and need to be listed
as Used with description of quality.
Hope this answered your question.
