Please give 3001special access to all colors in the catalog, including Modulex
colors.

Often when uploading test bricks, it is hard to find the exact color, so having
all colors available is a must.

Also, some test bricks actually come in Modulex colors.

It would be great if this can be added.

Thanks,
Maxx

Almost complete, just a few blue bricks and a blue 700e baseplate on the box.

Received from Germany, the house and box, thank you Thomas!

Originally received in 2012 (second picture) now with original buildings.

Third picture is an original picture of the board in 1958 taken from a toy shop
folder.

————————————————————————————————————————————————-

LEGO: OLD WOODEN BOARD

(2012)Finally in from Germany, my own wooden board, thank you Kurt(c:

This board is from around 1958, introducing the then just new bricks with tubes.
The board was used by toy shop owners to show to their customers how to use the
new brick with tubes.

A few builds were gluid on there and people got to build on it, feeling how this
new tube system made for more building fun.
See here for the original:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/maxx361/11051928904/in/photostream//

The board is build up of a wooden back board, on it lay 7 thick baseplates 10x20.
The wooden plate is screwed onto the baseplates.
The bricks are all glued in place to the baseplates, so no other pattern can
be made.
The red bricks originally on here should not be there and have been put there
sometime in the past.

It is my understanding (from the text and new picture) there came more loose
bricks with this, so the shop owner could show his buyers the possibilities.
These loose bricks sat in the container on the right.

The text reads in German:"Please, build for yourself with LEGO and tell your
buyers too, how easy it is."

The black part is cardboard glued on the baseplate.
The bricks are glued onto the cardboard, a nearly identical one was used on the
patent application (4th picture).

It shows the different colors available at the time (no black bricks yet), the
top and bottom of 2 bricks and a few cut bricks to show the inside.

Very special also are the 4 transparent bricks with one orange tube.
Showing how the new tube system works.

It was also used on the 1958 small box:
http://www.flickr.com/photos/maxx361/4976859687/in/set-721576274..

The wooden plate measures 60 x 19 cm.

See pictures, recently found this plastic wrap.

No idea what it was used for, I think it is to expensive to use as packing paper.

1985 Belgium.

Any ideas are welcome, I will add it to the catalog if needed.

70 cm wide.

As well as for my own collection, I am also always looking for more 2x4 brick
colors for my store.

I would love to have all the different colors available in my store, but the
damn bricks keep selling

Over the years it has gotten harder and harder to source certain colors.
Prices keep going up which can be good if you are selling, less good if you need
to buy more stock…

But it is not all bad news, we got 3 new colors this year already!

For all color collectors out there, I hope we find some more of the rare colors.

Hope to see you all soon,
Maxx

Several of these recently came available and I was lucky enough to get some.

As far as we can tell, the holes were used to fasten the bricks for clutch tests?

The S brick is just a weird but fully normal modern brick.

And the last one is a LEGOland 3001old G-mold, not really special, but I just
like the different mold letters

If you have any info on these bricks, please share.

First of I wish everyone a good 2023, it started with a nice find for me.

Having been a forum user for a long time, it struck me how it has changed over
the years.
It might be my distorted image of forum posts, but I feel they had more consistency
in the past.
So I will make a first move to try and give something back to the community

Almost 10 years ago I aquired a nice addition to my collection through a collector
friend Kurt.
It is a shop display to let children and parents know how LEGO works, this is
1958!
See first and second picture, it was a wooden board with text telling the shop
owner how to use said item.
When getting this board, I had no idea what was supposed to be on it.

So I set out to find out and shared my knowledge on Flickr:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/maxx361/8029339053/

9 years ago, I found a picture in an old LEGO shop owners folder which showed
the complete setup in black and white.
My suspicion that something was originally build on it was confirmed.
And even later a complete setup was found by another collector, unfortunately
his had no writing on it.

Over the years, parts of these boards have turned up, mostly glued buildings.
Which brings me to my nice find at the start of this year

Going through my box with old LEGO items I ones found but at the time didn’t
know what they were or what to do with, I finally noticed familiar glue marks.
I hope they are visible, but the glue and screwhole marks match with the original
wooden board.
It is only 4 of the total 7 baseplates, but I may just yet find the other 3 one
day.
Since I already have this complete item, this one is going to either a LEGO restorer
friend or the LEGO museum in the Netherlands.

I hope this small story gives you something nice to read and maybe show you something
you have never seen before.
It may give you the idea to not just throw away old LEGO, because you might just
be throwing away a piece of LEGO history.

Anyway, enjoy and have a very LEGO 2023!
Maxx

Here some more info on the board, same as on Flickr:

This board is from around 1958, introducing the then just new bricks with tubes.
The board was used by toy shop owners to show to their customers how to use the
new brick with tubes.
A few builds were gluid on there and people got to build on it, feeling how this
new tube system made for more building fun.
See here for the original: www.flickr.com/photos/maxx361/11051928904/in/photostream/

The board is build up of a wooden back board, on it lay 7 thick baseplates 10x20.
The wooden plate is screwed onto the baseplates.

The bricks are all glued in place to the baseplates, so no other pattern can
be made.
It is my understanding (from the text and new picture) there came more loose
bricks with this, so the shop owner could show his buyers the possibilities.

The text reads in German:
"Please, build for yourself with LEGO and tell your buyers too, how easy
it is."

The black part is cardboard glued on the baseplate.
The bricks are glued onto the cardboard.

It shows the different colors available at the time, the top and bottom of 2
bricks and a few cut bricks to show the inside.
Very special also are the 4 transparent bricks with one orange tube.
Showing how the new tube system works.
It was also used on the 1958 small box:
www.flickr.com/photos/maxx361/4976859687/in/set-721576274...

The plate measures 60 x 19 cm.

I am uploading some weird parts, like short shots and such.

If you are interested, have a look, there are also still a few marbled parts
left.
I am always up for a trade, but I mostly trade for items I don’t yet have

Or just have a look at some weird LEGO items, enjoy!

From 2013, for the new people that don’t know my history and wonder why I collect
2x4 bricks, this is how it started:

Just found an old picture of when I was younger under a bunch of 3001olds.
(weirdly enough, all pictures are from when you were younger)

I was wondering where that picture had ended up.
That's an old picture of me with my dad.

And in case you are wondering, yes, that is my Mum in the background, shaving
her legs with my dads axe, he would not let her use the chainsaw again after
the unfortunate trouble she got into the last time with the daughter of our next
door down neighbours son in law.

My 2x4 collection started that day a long, long time ago in a far of galaxy where
this brick came out of the sky.
(or it might have been in our backyard, can't remember exactly, it was a
long long time ago after all)
I asked Pa what it was, he scratched his head and got his cigarettes out.
Lit one in a straight line and made a smoke square in the sky next to the crop
circle we found surrounding this weird brick.

Did I mention he was a very square guy, everyone around him thought so.
They used to get round him to keep him from taking a swing into the house which
my mother thought should be outside in the grassy knoll.
After a few puffs he said: "I don't know son..."

My dad has always been a very helpful guy he has.

So from that day forward I took upon me the mission of fighting crimes against
unwanted 2x4 bricks.
Going to places no one had gone before, seeking new bricks and new collections,
getting balder in the process.
Making a better place for those multicolored bricks in a blue, yellow, white
and red dominated world.

So far I have liberated many bricks from oppression, being locked up in dusty
old places and being mistreated.
You should see the scars on some of them as they come in, like they were bitten
or chewed.
Some are black and blue or even worse.

But after a nice welcome, a fair treatment and a nice warm bath in my place they
soon settle down and enjoy the view.
After all those years of being abused they now find themselves in the good company
of my pa, whom had stopped smoking after I told him it was bad for my bricks.
He just looked empty glassy eyed at me and asked me if that was some kind of
slang for balls, filling up his cup again after draining the pond for the coming
winter?

We both build a box to house the bricks in and lit his one to keep us warm and
used mine to sit on in the field to not get wet bottoms.
Pa hated a wet bottom he ones said, I did not ask, but now I knew why mother
always chose that spot close to the fire place.

"Did you ever think of that brick from the sky", I asked him?
"Where it might have come from, were it was going, why it was blue?"
He took him empty bag of cigarettes and lit one, puffed a nice triangle of smoke
to let me notice he thought I was gay for asking.

Now every time a new 2x4 brick arrives, I am feeling very gay, but to make it
so obvious a statement in the air for everyone but my ma to see, she was in the
house making dishes from that fight she had with pa over UFO's.
"No such thing as flying saucers" he said, plates flying over his head, smashing
into the wall behind me.

After a while you got used to the weekly trips to Ikea and started wondering
why we even owned a dishwasher.
He only cost money, so I decided to let my brother go, he could try and earn
a living somewhere else washing dishes.

After putting out his empty and now burned package of cigarettes he koffed and
finally answered my question.
"No," he said being the level minded person he was, he sat down and got back
out into the house using the stairs to go up into the basement, leaving me in
there looking down at the night sky, wondering why me....

Forum ignore X-person list:

https://www.bricklink.com/messageFilter.asp?viewFrom=P

For those of us that want a more peaceful reading of the forum, you could try
this, it has helped me stay sane and not react to certain people/types:

https://www.bricklink.com/messageFilter.asp?viewFrom=P

There will always be people you don’t agree with, that is just life, but just
like in real life, you avoid certain people and certain situations, so can be
done on the forum.

Please if you disagree with me put me on your ignore list, just like you don’t
like me, I probably don’t like your opinion on certain things.
Things I avoid are discussions of religion, that is personal and just like certain
body parts should be kept private and in your pants.

Only thing I hope to get out of this post is to help others find the “ignore
x-person” list.

So, one more time, you want to ignore someone on forum, see:

Have a great day and a good forum experience, do with this information what you
will
