Thanks for the kind words!
I took a lot of inspiration from videos online; I wish I could give everyone
credit. That one guy from Germany with a Lego city is a freaking beast!

I've added the creation to the gallery:
https://www.bricklink.com/v3/studio/design.page?idModel=538842&ref=my_studio

Thanks again to everyone I've met along the way.
Happy Building!!

It is finally finished!

Over 50 hours of stud.io design work.
8,214 pieces.
614 lots.
27 BrickLink orders.
34 inches wide.
42 inches deep.
250 ounces (15.5 pounds).
About 40 hours build time.
Many small easter eggs relevant to my childhood.

Funny.
I just did a build of over 9,000 pieces, all ordered from here.
Out of 14 little reddish-brown 1x1 round pieces, I broke 9 of them trying to
wedge them between 4 pegs. I didn't "cram"... I just set it in at
an angle, and gently pushed from above to level. SNAP. 9 times!

having some serious quality control issues. I've found more broken parts
in this lot than I've ever seen before. I've got plates and bricks from
30+ years ago that have held up better than these parts from under 7 years ago.

Anyone else seeing an increase in damaged parts from newer bulk used purchases?

I’ve been having a hell of a time lately with new part outs. Mostly with dark
red and red brown. It’s so bad I started a box of rejects that I’ll just fill
up and sell by the pound.

Did I do something wrong? My build was only like 20 pieces. I can't imagine
what a larger build would be like. I also paid far more in shipping than what
the actual pieces cost, but I assume that's because I had such a small build
(I actually ordered parts to make 4).

This was my first time as well.
I built a model of my childhood home.
Just over 8,000 pieces.
All added to a wanted list, imported from stud.io.

This equated to 27 different stores and carts.
I paid about $1,200 for pieces; and about $160 in shipping.

I agree. It wasn't the best experience.
I still have two stores which have refused to ship or respond.

BUT....
1) Do I have all my pieces? Yes.
2) Did I somehow receive "mysterious" quantities? Yes. I think this
has to do with an individual store requiring a minimum amount or quantity (which,
from what I can tell, get's automatically adjusted. You REALLY have to pay
attention to your individual store carts).
3) Did I meet two OUTSTANDING store sellers? YES!! And I will continue to try
to order from only these two stores in the future.

So... your miles may vary. But that's been my experience with a fairly large
first time order.

This split down into two carts.
Since Easter is Sunday, I messaged the sellers directly, pre-purchase, to inquire
about expedited shipping methods, and if they were able to physically fulfill
the order on such short notice.
While corresponding with two separate sellers; I tried to reply, and was told
"Oops, you have exceeded your message limit.".

This created a "frantic" situation for me; as I was already against the
clock. I had to figure out how to message them off-site, and finish my pre-purchase
conversations.

I understand bots and reasons for security measures.
But it feels this ones a little too tight, as I had already made 23 purchases
before this happened.

Well, I was able to place the orders and then communicate with the sellers off-site
via email. Thanks SO much to "Lets Play Bricks" and "CoffeeBricks"
for working with me personally, replying to my questions immediately, and providing
additional options to specifically fit my needs!

Let's Play Bricks
https://store.bricklink.com/Letsplaybricks?p=Letsplaybricks#/shop

CoffeeBricks
https://store.bricklink.com/Coffee.bricks?p=Coffee.bricks#/shop

Now, what happened??
I made 28 orders over 2 days, about 10 days ago.
Two of the sellers are unresponsive, have never changed the status from "paid",
and do not reply to messages.
So, I made yet another cart with all the pieces from the two unresponsive sellers.
I then went to purchase this cart, which broke down to two stores.
I messaged each store, asking if they could get it shipped today with expedited
shipping (it's Easter weekend).
As I'm working it out with these amazing sellers, BrickLink tells me I can't
reply to them anymore.
I had to complete the purchase, then I was able to finish correspondence with
the seller via the order form.

What a bad experience.
What did I do wrong here?

Gorgeous!!
I live in the US and we have a total solar eclipse coming up on April 8th.
Totality is supposed to last almost four and a half minutes.
I just looked at the UK and it appears you will see a partial eclipse.
It'll look like the moon is taking a bite out of the sun
Don't forget to order your shade 14 glasses, so you can view the eclipse
directly.

Sounds pretty shady to me.
So the seller can't work with the buyers requests.. but can immediately file
an NPB?

FYI, the red banner at the top mentioning closed April 1st is using black text
on a red background, and is fairly difficult to read. I don't know if you
have the option to adjust that background color or text color; but I can imagine
if I had trouble, others will

I think it's those gradient lines in the banner red color that make the text,
what... blurry, I guess.

Lol.. I knew when I was watching a video of a 9 year old showing me how to put

I'll certainly post more as the project completes.

You are most welcome.
I'm sure there are other methods, but found this one works best for me.
If you encounter any issues, just post back in the forum.
This community is pretty amazing, and very helpful.

Hello, and welcome to the community!
So, I'm fairly new here myself, but have made many purchases.
I have found that paypal seems to be the preferred payment method.
Once you have your items in a store cart, and continue to checkout, you will
be provided with a 5-step process.

1) The store mentions any important information regarding orders, shipping and
processing times, etc.
2) You will confirm your shipping address.
3) You will be prompted with how you'd like to pay. NOTE: I typically try
to find sellers who offer "instant checkout". This will allow the payment
to post immediately, and not have to wait for an invoice or other payment options.
4) You will select the shipping method (if more options are available from the
seller).
5) You will be redirected to PayPal to complete the purchase. Once completed,
the page will redirect you back to BrickLink, to an order confirmation page.

Afterwards, you will receive emails regarding your purchase.
And another email once the item has shipped.

ahh I see, I very much appreciateyour help josh. I will do just that, thank you
for the help.

Super amazing software. As a cad/cam engineer and software developer myself,
it was a delight!

So, my house has over 8,000 pieces, which resulted in numerous orders through
BrickLink.
After placing over 20 orders, I receive multiple emails.
One from Bricklink for each purchase.
One from PayPal for each purchase.
Another from BrickLink once the order has shipped.
Another from PayPal once the order has shipped.

Each of these emails use various names, or email address, or store names.
It's confusing to identify which email goes with which order.
I often find myself scrolling through emails, looking for a store username, so
I can match it to my BrickLink orders page.

MY SUGGESTION:

Please add the sellers store name (perhaps under the username?) on the buyers
orders page.
This would seriously help with identifying which order goes with which email,
without having to physically click into each order, and find the store name.

Alternatively, if maintaining a single row on the orders page is preferred, could
we maybe add the store name as a "hover" when mousing over the store
username?

Thank you for the consideration.

My apologies.
I just saw the last bit about seeing the house.
That's really awesome that you asked!
I haven't shown anyone yet, so you're the first

I still need...
1) Extend the back yard.. we had over 4 acres, and I'd like to make the wooded
area.
2) Add a street along the front of the house. We played on that street all the
time.
3) Put the entire model on raised plates that can be joined together in sections.
4) Add the roof, chimney, etc.
5) put all the branches and leaves on the tree, but I wanted to leave that until
last. I have nightmares of the trees breaking apart while trying to redesign
the model onto baseplates.. lol.

Just what 1001bricks said.
I was confused my first time as well.
The seller was very quick to email me with an invoice, and I was able to pay
directly from a link in the invoice (or from your cart on bricklink; which I
remember reading was the preferred method). Just watch your email.

Just as an FYI; here are the steps I take:
1) Create a wishlist and add all your required parts to this wishlish.
2) When finished, view the wishlist.
3) There is a "Buy All" button from the wishlist. This will take you
to a page which lists all the stores, and there are some filters.
4) I always filter to the USA (to avoid international delays); AND filter for
"Instant Checkout".

The instant checkout is what allows you to complete the payment immediately,
and not have to wait/watch for an invoice.
