That just sounds super sketchy. Voted no. Buyers should have protection for any

all liability by paying in a way they can never get a refund if anything happens
is just sketchy

I already expected this would result in a discussion about whether or not a buyer
can have a freedom of choice when it comes to having a shipment traced/insured
or not. I think that buyers should have that possibility.

When I remove the Eur 5,- min order value from my store I will receive many small
orders. Even at this moment, for most of my small national orders (for me Dutch
and German orders) people ask for shipment without tracing and insurance at their
own risk, just like I do with most of my small orders in The Netherlands and
in Germany. The difference in cost of shipment can be up to EUR 3,30 (about $
3,50). In 20 years of buying on bricklink, I only had 1 order which I didn't
receive. So, for smaller orders I hardly see any risk.

BUT.. when even when the buyer agrees to a shipment without tracing and the order
is paid with paypal, paypal will refund the buyer his money when something goes
wrong. Therefor I'm forced to add tracing on every order paid with paypal.

I like to have that automated for me; if a buyer pays with paypal (or something
else that requires tracing) give the buyer only the options with tracing or insurance.
If a buyer pays with a bank transfer let him choose if he wants to have the order
traced and insured or not. This makes it for me possible to automate the making
of the invoice.

Hi,

I would like to have the possibility to make a shipment option available or not
depending on the chosen payment option.

I'm a private seller and I like to give my buyers the option to have orders
shipped without tracing and insurance. These options should only be available
when a buyer pays with an option which doesn't require tracing, for example
a banktransfer in my case.

Making the shipment options depending on the chosen payment option would solve
my problem.

Another option for me would be to add the extra cost of tracing when a payment
option which requires tracing is choosen. At this moment it's only possible
to add a percentage of the order when a specific payment option is chosen, but
tracing is a fixed amount.

Regards,

C

  Hi,

I've received an order of 86 gramm, but the shipping methode which is choosen
only has the following weight bands in gramms:

0 - 9.00
9.01 - 33.00

I expected that this shipping option wouldn't be available for the buyer
and an other of my shipping methodes would be choosen.

Is this normal behaviour or an error?

I've done some testing. I've used:
2 x 824 Train Base 4 x 7 with Wheels Holder
7 x 737ac02 Plate, Modified 2 x 4 with Train Coupler Open for Magnet with Blue
Magnet Coupling, Train - 6.5mm Cylinder (737a / x547b)
Total weight 47,85 gramm.

By the shipping options the right shipping option is chosen initially, but the
buyer can select the shipping option with a weight band of 9.01 - 33 gramm.

How is your shipping method configured? Did the 86 gram show up on your scale
or on the BL order page?

On the order page. All Items have a weight on the order page the total weight
is 84,6 gramm (instead of 86 gramm, but still more than the specified weight
bands).

You have no onsite payment method for your store.
