From Set 76175.

Hmmm, that's a tough one. The box front advertises Peter Parker (see attached
image). We could include the mannequin as the standard figure in the inventory,
but I think people will want the Peter Parker figure as advertised - so maybe
include s693 as an inventory alternate?

Why not have the inventory of the figure include both heads?

In Colors, Admin_Russell writes:
However, this does bring up a larger point about which types of images serve
our users the best. To be honest, the old renders with black lines were terrific
at the 80 x 60 size, and I've long considered the idea of bringing them back
as an option, specifically for sellers picking orders.

...

If enough people think they are an improvement over what we have now, we could
maybe give an option to select one or the other depending on preference.

I agree that the older renders with the black edges were terrific. One reason
was their simplicity, but another was consistency. I've browsed stores
where I'm looking at one color category of parts, and the small images are
not all the same color. (This is most noticeable with light bluish gray and
dark tan.)

I would love an option for viewing the original style thumbnail images. Maybe
it could be some checkbox or dropdown menu option?

All attached images are just for nostalgia.

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 8095 Name: General Grievous' Starfighter

8095-1 (Inv) General Grievous' Starfighter
425 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2010
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars

* Add 1 Part 4032 Dark Bluish Gray Plate, Round 2 x 2 with Axle Hole

Comments from Submitter:
This plate round 2x2 with axle hole is shown in the instructions but not in inventory

The 2X2 round plate is listed in the inventory of the EV-A4-D minifig instead.

Does it have to be a new item entirely, or can it be images?

When you use onsite PayPal, there are a couple of steps to go through, and the
final step for payment brings you back to Bricklink for payment confirmation.
Currently that confirmation page shows the icon for Admin_Jaclyn as the administrator.

I think she did a fine job when she was with Bricklink, but I also think that
any user icon that appears on that page should be of a current member of the
BL administrator team. Of course, that page could also function just fine with
a non-user specific BL logo or no image at all.

The image I've attached is from when I placed an order just today.

As others have already mentioned, I would prefer BAMF parts listed in the catalog,
but not whole minifigs. They don't have instructions or packaging showing
what an "official" complete BAMF would be, so I think parts only would be best.

D'OH! For some reason I was thinking that BL called the lighter shade Light

just "Lavender."

These renames and moves make sense to me.

I remember MANY years ago when

Part No: 6121 Name: Tower Roof 4 x 8 x 6
*
6121 Tower Roof 4 x 8 x 6
Parts: Roof
was getting added to the catalog, and so they had to create the Roof category.
We've come so far!

Thank you for your efforts in this, and also thank you for posting the list a
while back so that people could give feedback before the changes were made.

I have to agree with hpoort. Those bricks are a combination of some True Light

Three Spider Legs Horns”?  I count 6 legs.

Yes, I could have made a change request but I wanted to know if there was a rationale

I don't know anything about the misnumbering in the name, but I do think
it's a very interesting new part. Do you know what minifig is goes to or
what set it comes in?

Besides being a yellowed white plate (as other have mentioned,) the only color
it could be is original Light Yellow. Is it an even yellow color on both sides?

I just spent over two hours submitting elements and adding copious detail to
the description of some new minifigure parts. Now they all read RETITLE. Why?

The removal of the titles you created and their replacement with the word Retitle
was not a request for you to do anything further. It was merely a note to ourselves
that before approving your submissions every of them would have to be entirely
retitled to meet catalog standards.

I can see why the submitter would think that he needed to retitle all the submissions.
If the word "retitle" is just a note to the catalog administrators, then it
should be added in a way that is only visible to the catalog administrators (similar
to how sellers can ad notes that only they can see to their items for sale.)
Since the notes were added in a way that someone besides the catalog administrators
could see it, I assume that that's the only way to currently do it. Here's
to hoping that changes.

Now that TLG has acquired BL, isn't it about time that we set about resolving
conflicting colour names? The flesh/nougat adjustment shows that it's possible,
so when are we going to rename BL Dark Green to Earth Green?

Obviously there are many others which need aligned over time, but currently Dark
Green should be an immediate priority.

I can't see why this would be a priority at all. Dark Green is clearly a
better name than Earth Green. TLC has come up with some odd color names over
the years. I think it would be best for Bricklink to keep their color names.

David

I think the change of ALL colour names should be a priority because however bizarre
Legos colour names may seem to us it is the manufacture who made those decisions
for their product and so it’s their name choices that should take precedence?
If an established and well-known paint brand names one of their colours ‘Bright
Yellowish Green’ distributors and retailers should follow that colour guide because
by re-labelling it as ‘Lime’ they only create confusion for their customers.
The customer knows the brand of paint they want and they know the colour that
the manufacture calls it and yet the customer is expected to somehow work it
out for themselves or if they’re lucky stumble across a third party colour guide?
The variations of the Lego product are confusing enough at the best times so
why create further confusion in areas that are easily fixed?

Bricklink has been around for 20 years. Bricklink being owned by LEGO is a recent
thing, so for a couple decades Bricklink customers have become used to the Bricklink
color names. Changing them because TLC bought Bricklink is not logical.

Furthermore, you compare color names for LEGO parts to color names for well-known
paint brands. You mention "The customer knows the brand of paint they want and
they know the colour that the manufacture calls it," however, that's not
the case with LEGO. Very few LEGO customers are going to know that TLC calls
regular green "Dark Green" and that they call dark green "Earth Green." Changing
names like that at this point would cause a lot of confusion.

I imagine it would make the most sense to have it be a part that's an assembly
of these parts:

Part No: sailbb22 Name: Cloth Sail 27 x 17 Top with Blue Thick Stripes Pattern
*
sailbb22 Cloth Sail 27 x 17 Top with Blue Thick Stripes Pattern
Parts: Cloth

Part No: sailbb21 Name: Cloth Sail 30 x 15 Bottom with Blue Thick Stripes Pattern
*
sailbb21 Cloth Sail 30 x 15 Bottom with Blue Thick Stripes Pattern
Parts: Cloth

Part No: sailbb20 Name: Cloth Sail Triangular 15 x 22 with Blue Thick Stripes Pattern
*
sailbb20 Cloth Sail Triangular 15 x 22 with Blue Thick Stripes Pattern
Parts: Cloth

Then, of course, the inventory of the assembly would consist of the 3 above parts.

It's hard to tell from the photos, but my guess is that they're both
Purple. TLC used to have a recognized problem with getting purple right, as
far as color consistency. It could be that both grills are meant to be purple,
but the coloring process was imperfect, and they ended up not being exactly the
same.

Bricklink tried that once years ago. A lot of people didn't like it, so
it didn't last long. You can always check retail prices on Brickset.

Why does bricklink show this? A simple IF statement could be used to only show
a discount when it is possible for a buyer to achieve. Then it doesn't make
the store look stupid by offering discounts that a buyer cannot possibly take

The older version of Bricklink used to do this automatically. It's a bug
that they've never fixed.
