i think this might be what your referring to but I might be wrong

That is NOT the new site they are building. That is the new site that failed
to convince people that it was better than what we currently have.

Also know as the "We don't know anything about how you use the site but we're
going to improve it anyway" version. I can't imagine why they failed!

Knowing how this sort of thing usually goes, I would not have dropped of the
package and only given up what I was delivered in exchange for what should have
been delivered.

Heck, even if the color isn’t right Minifigure hands are made with POM instead
of ABS (so they don’t break when they flex). This often leads to color matching
issues, especially with older figures that used a much lighter yellow than normal.

I wasn't clear - I meant comparing them to other hands of the same colour
(and age) not necessarily other parts.

And yeah, I know they are different plastic, as they don't dye anywhere near
as easily as torsos or the arm sockets they are in.

  Hello everyone!

I'm working my way through a bulk lot of used minifigure parts, and I found
quite a bit of arms that don't have the Lego mark on the inner side of the
arms.

Because I found so many, I started wondering if Lego did not put their name on
the arms at first or if this is simply counterfeit. And if they did not put it
there at first, how can I differentiate the genuine Lego from the counterfeit?

Also, if anyone has tips on the hands, let me know!

80s and 90s figures do not have logos on arms. I'm not sure about 2000s as
I have very few. Then 2010s onwards seem to almost all have them.

As for hands, I'd assume genuine if the colour is right and the rest of the
figure is right. Hands are cheap with a very few exceptions, I doubt there would
be wholesale scams of replacing genuine hands for fake ones.

I sent out an order over 3 weeks ago domestically by first class mail. The buyer
contacted me that it was not received. The USPS tracking shows it as not yet
delivered. I contacted the post office and filed an inquiry and still says it’s
being investigated. As the seller what is my responsibility for refund. I didn’t
have insurance on the item either.

I would ask the buyer to wait a little bit longer, then refund. It's very
uncommon for a package to be delivered after 3 weeks (though it does happen on
occasion).

Definitely follow this advice. Let the buyer know it is being investigated and
tell them that once the outcome is known if it has not been delivered then you
will refund. That way the buyer knows either it will arrive or they get refunded
and hopefully will not take a rash decision to NSS or go to PayPal.

I am looking to trade some Muppet Minifigures. I have one extra Fozzie, one extra
Statler, two extra Gonzos, and two Beakers. I need Kermit, Ralph, Bunsen Honeydew,
Animal, and Walldorf. These are new out of the bag. I am willing to trade one
for one.

You will need to find a store that is willing to take them in payment for an
order via a coupon, so sales tax and fees can still be collected. Although whoever
takes them in payment cannot sell them as new, not only have the minifigures
green assembled, they have also been put on stands and are holding accessories.

Depends. It's possible to set up a search index to include synonyms at index
time (so you would say that "DBG" is a synonym for "dark bluish gray" for example)
or at search time (so that "DBG" and maybe "dark bluish grey" and "dark bley"
translate to "dark bluish grey"). Modifying the search functionality is probably
the easiest thing to do here on BL (to change the indexing would mean re-indexing
everything).

Possible yes. But on bricklink? A site that cannot manage to return a title with
stripe in it when you search for stripes (or vice versa).

Recently, adding a bunch of minifigures parts, I had to type the words "light
bluish gray" and "dark bluish gray" in the search field.
It would be a lot easier and faster if you can just type three letters instead
of three words.

Is update like this even possible? Can I help somehow in doing it?

It would need lots of repetition in names. If I want to find something like a
torso assembly with Light bluish gray hands, I search for 'torso "light bluish
gray hands"' to be sure not to pick up other parts that are light bluish
gray. If there was an abbreviation as well torso assemblies like this:

Part No: 973pb3070c01 Name: Torso with White Stomach Pattern / Light Bluish Gray Arms / Light Bluish Gray Hands
*
973pb3070c01 (Inv) Torso with White Stomach Pattern / Light Bluish Gray Arms / Light Bluish Gray Hands
Parts: Minifigure, Torso Assembly, Decor.

would need to be called "Torso with White Stomach Pattern / Light Bluish Gray
Arms (LBG arms)/ Light Bluish Gray Hands (LBG hands)" otherwise searches with
the colour name in front of the part name would not work. Calling it "Torso with
White Stomach Pattern / Light Bluish Gray LBG arms / Light Bluish Gray LBG hands"
breaks that functionality.

I did not mean the terms that way. I changed it because I never want this problem
again.

That is why it would have been good to apologise to the buyer if they were misled,
since they probably also got the wrong impression from the language used in the
terms.

Better still would have been to allow the order as a one off and then changed
your terms so as not to have the same problem again. I obviously don't know
the order value but the fees would have been not that different to BL's fees
for the transaction (plus the small fixed fee). If the error is even just partly
your fault, and the cost of putting it right is miminal, it is so much better
to put it right rather than rushing to a public slanging match through feedback.
Remember the negative for the buyer won't stop them placing orders. But the
negative for you pushes your percentage praise even lower which might make some
buyers think twice about ordering.

  Howdy,

I figured it out...on one I was looking at the past 6 months sales average &
on the other I was looking at the average for what is currently being offered.

In that case, yes there is often a very big difference! Lower priced items tend
to sell whereas higher priced ones tend not to.

Although not always, sometimes for convenience people buy items that are way
overpriced if they are placing an order anyway.

Yet your terms (which you have now changed) stated buyers could choose the option
of PayPal. This is part of your offer to buyers when they place an order, even
if this was not offered to them at the checkout. So a buyer reads your terms,
decides to pay with PayPal, places the order knowing that you allow the buyer
the choice of paying with PayPal, then you refused to honour your terms. And
then you left them negative feedback for wanting to pay using PayPal.

If you cannot accept that you made an error in offering buyers the choice of
PayPal then refusing it, then it is perhaps not surprising that the buyer refuses
to remove their negative feedback.

Before, Paypal was only allowed for Buyer outside of the Netherlands.

In the checkout, yes. But the wording of the terms suggested anyone could - and
presumably this is why the terms got changed.

Also, it is not true that the seller is always responsible for the delivery.
This is only true for professional sellers. For private sellers, the responsibility
ends with the transfer to the shipping company.

Yes I removed paypal entirely to not have to have the same problem in the future.

The fact that you quickly changed your terms suggests that you know that you
were offering the choice of paypal to your buyers. If you want to resolve it,
remove the negative feedback that you left for the buyer for wanting to use paypal,
apologise to them and hope that in return they remove their feedback. Otherwise,
it will stay. Bricklink are very unlikely to remove it, as there is nothing that
goes against feedback rules.

ok thx, as bricklink is from lego itself the inventory could be created in a
somewhat more automaetd manner i guess .. although it can be part of the fun
to create one ... maybe i will pick one up thx koen

Apparently there is some automation for common parts, but remember that the BL
database has different identifiers for printed parts, which makes it much easier
to know what they are (as the base part is in the identifier). And of course,
minifigures do not exist in LEGO inventories, just minifigure parts.

the netherlands, as it costs more for the same thing, as well as several bad

One of the first things in your terms says "I prefer being paid by IBAN bank
transfer, as it is free. When paying by Paypal, all additional costs are for
the buyer. Please keep this in mind, when placing an order.
"

If you refuse to accept PayPal from NL buyers to the point of cancelling their
orders, then your terms ought to reflect that and not give the impression that
this is a buyer choice.

PayPal and IBAN are not the same thing either. PayPal gives buyers an easy way
to contest a transaction if the buyer does not receive the items, whereas IBAN
does not. Maybe the buyer looked at the other negative you already have and saw
that when a parcel was not delivered you blamed the buyer for not purchasing
insurance.

It is nothing to do with brickset.

The only restriction is that items cannot be sold until officially released.
Once someone Inventories the set, and it is approved, it can be parted out.
