Just curious because it doesn't look like a panel at all https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&catString=91&catType=P.
Seems to me more a Connector.

To me this part seems more technic than anything. But I know for certain I never
would have checked panels for it.

I have enjoyed Lego most of my life, but it seems that Lego seems to want to
make me give up on them. I have had to increase shipping rates and add a processing
fee to offset the increasing fees. The addition of the VAT taxes has made it
nearly impossible to make money on Bricklink. It increases the final sale which
in turn, increases the fees that both Bricklink and PayPal take from you. You
have to notice the huge decrease in stores and customers. What is everyone else's
thoughts on this?

I think you are wrong about almost everything.

Very surprised to find moving rounded bricks to the Slope,Curved category. How
many people really were in favour of that idea and how many were against? I thought
the general sentiment was that curved slopes are an entirely different thing

Putting rounded parts in Slope,Curved really makes no sense to me. I'd really
like to see some kind of vote on this as I cannot imagine this is intuitive to
the users.

Some people don't know how to leave well enough alone. It's all completely
moronic and further proof why some people can't be trusted with a thimble

We all know that currently the way feedback works is kinda borked. The feedback
percentage counts Positive vs other feedbacks and so it causes a neutral feedback
to lower that score. Neutral feedback should simply not be a part of the equation.
It should be positive vs megative and completely disregard neutral feedback so
that neutral feedback is actually neutral and not 'negative light'.

New users do not understand that leaving a neutral feedback hurts the shop's
feedback percentage and to be honest, it's completely understandable because
neutral should be neutral, it should not have any incidence on a shop's feedback
percentage.

Honestly, I think the real issue here is that you stacked bricks for your buyer.
And a more seasoned Bricklink buyer might have actually given you a negative
for that. Just my two cents since that's what led to this post.

The 2x2 tile looks like dark red to me and the plates reddish brown when next
to it.

Do you actually have any old brown bricks/plates to put the "others"?

TBF the plates do look brown in the first two photos. But lighting and images
can make something look very different.

Tile looks dark red to me.

I am pretty sure that 1x4 plate is reddish brown.

I think so too.

How did you determin that this is Brown and not Reddish Brown?

Sure looks reddish brown to me.

And yet in another message you don't seem to be fond of the idea of losing

As for what they would say, the new color names are mostly TLG's own. What

Do you genuinely believe that TLG is incapable of making mistakes? Are we to

My first take.

Took a long time to load for me. I don't necessarily attribute that to whatever
code you have going on, but just saying.

Search for Yellow Head, Any Stud Type, keyword: scar. Returns zero results.
I believe this should return 38 results.
I believe this to be at least in part a flaw in original goatleg code.

Search for Black Torso, Blue Arms, no hand color selected. Returns zero results.
I believe this should return 8 results.
I believe this to be at least in part a flaw in original goatleg code.
With yellow hands also selected, returns 3 results. I believe this to be correct.

It appears that for any search all dropdown options must have an active selection
to function. I would suggest this is not the optimal solution as sometimes arms
or hands may be swapped on a torso. Also if you want to find all heads with glasses
irrespective of what stud type something has...then I don't think three searches
should be required to achieve that.

At narrow screen widths the wrap is malformed or something...button gets cut
off. Screen Grab attached.

Would be nice if the layout better adjusted to a narrow (phone) layout.

Good start, though.

Your first version of goatleg you did, the black torso, blue arms returns 19
results.

I actually like your older version better but great job either way. But what
you have to figure out how to do is is to get it to stay at the top of the bricklink
page after you start your initial search so we don't have to go back and
forth to different boxes after each search.

So you used to be able to click on the picture of a piece in the catalog, sort
of a quick view. You'd see the years it was made, any sets/minifigures the
piece was in, etc. You all know what I'm talking about. Well, a few days
ago I couldn't do it anymore. I've tried three different devices.

Why would they make such a horrible change for? I rely on that heavily when listing
minifigure parts to make sure I have the correct listing. This is going to make
this job twice as long now.

Doesn't work for me either. This happened a few weeks ago. Then all of a
sudden I could enlarge them again. Then a couple days ago, it stopped letting
me enlarge them again. A big pain if you ask me.

is a good idea. Keep trying!

Haha thanks for reaching out. Lol, I can see how it would be a pretty big ask,
but yeah it's pretty similar to what rebrickable would do.

Example: "You can build these figures with the pieces you uploaded"

And if there were an optimization feature which took into account the qty of
pieces you have and you could either tell it to "Build Max Qty" or "Build Max
Value" so once a unique head or something was consumed by a figure, it couldn't
be used to complete another.

I am in complete agreement with this. I have thought it would be a great idea
for years. Wish they would do it with sets as well. Might be too difficult with
sets but it would at least be great for the minifigures.

Right now they can be found by going to the parts section.

Giving them their own section would make them stand out. I didn't even know

Make the corresponding drop down menu match to the theme the assembly comes from?

*
3830c01 Hinge Brick 1 x 4 Swivel
Parts: Hinge
Marked for Deletion

I see that this part is marked for deletion. Since the counterpart policy has
changed it seems like it should not be.

Great.

I give up.

Yeah. Can't tell if it's just a case of 'left hand doesn't know
what the right hand is doing' or some sort of turf war.

Josh

I did not see any catalog admins taking part in this discussion, but I do not
think it is a coincidence that after 16 years in the catalog, this part is suddenly
deemed a bad "precedent."

Incidentally, looking at just the black version as an example, it appears that
the complete hinge sells at about three times the rate as the individual parts.
It is pretty clear that people prefer to buy this hinge as a unit. It's my
opinion that the number would be even higher if the hinge were in the counterpart
section of inventories.

I'm nowhere near knowledgeable enough to get involved in the workings of
Bricklink or the catalog. I just think that it was simply ridiculous to get rid
of this hinge from the catalog.

Really should have at least put the "undetermined" option for this.

As Bricklink seems to be growing at an impressive rate and we see more new buyer
join,
i have noticed a negative trend of posts in the forum regarding scammers and
dishonest sellers.

I'd hate to lose these potential shoppers who might not be as savvy in spotting
the red flags of a seller that might fall short of providing the minimum level
of service one might hope to receive.

To a buyer; those initial shopping experienced shape her/his opinion of Bricklink
as a system- we (sellers & Bricklink) should make sure those experiences are
pleasant.

So my idea is a simple one; how about having a short 'quick start' guide
for new BL shoppers; a short and informative welcome message that would give
the most basic of advises to the shopper such as taking a look at a seller's
feedback (not just quantity of feedback but also the quality of feedback as some
relatively new shops might not have the high volume of feedback but would still
provide an excellent service)

Some general info to take the mystery of what happens after you place your first
order (wait for invoice) and more of the general info that is provided in the
'Help''Buying' section which i'm sure most new buyers don't
look at before placing their first order.
a 'welcome to Bricklink' email with some of these details might help
both buyers and sellers avoid some frustrations and benefit our community.

This the best new idea I've seen about Bricklink since I have been on here.
Fantastic idea and should absolutely be done.
