This is possibly also linked to the aforementioned stripe issues ?

Anyway for me it is very important
1./ I can pay using my Revolut Visa card, because i get an advantageous dollar/euro
conversion rate there.
2. Do not want to pay using paypal because I like the Monthly Statements on my
credit card better for all important purchases. I only use paypal for incoming
from customers.

I take it this gets resolved this week ?
Thanks !

Just got the email from bricklink stating that all Members selling to the EU
must now register individually and supply bricklink the OSS number.

So Lawrence at brickowl was able to deal with this and set it up so brickowl
takes the VAT required from sales and pays it to the relevant tax authorities
(just like Ebay, Etsy, displate, cgtrader) and I`m sure most other online sales
portals. But Bricklink once again has to be a little different.

I really want to rant about this, but what's the point. My trade has been
moving from BL to BO more over the past year anyway.

David.

I'm fine with the new VAT rules but....

"If your sales in the preceding 12 months are above the new EUR 10 000 distance
sales of goods threshold, you will need to register for the OSS or in each individual
EU Member State where you sell on BrickLink.
If BrickLink determines or receives notification that you are not meeting your
VAT obligations within 30 days after receiving this notice, this will result
in the suspension of your selling abilities on BrickLink. "

The thing is, how are they going to check each store sold 10.000€ EUR in total
to the other EU members?

We have the data on this and will be individually contacting sellers that fall
into that category. Discovering which sellers are over the limit is a legal requirement
for us.

In strict terms the 10.000 euro "distance selling of GOODS" is physical product,
i.e. Lego ?

Does shipping paid on order also qualify and count toward 10.000 euro threshold
?

This makes a huge difference as +/- 20% of my sales are S&H ...
I'm desperate to stay under the threshold as to avoid extra administration

Please implement standard deviation.

By eliminating the (small number)% cheapest and (small number) % most expensively
priced lots, the average price index would be "more statistically significant"
in scientific terms ( less error margin ).
This is only necessary for items that have at least e.g. 10 distinct lots for
sale.

Why this suggestion ?

Yesterday i noticed one particular seller set all his prices at ( BL avg x 10000
). This caused average price index "lots for sale" to be inflated at least
tenfold
.
Someone else suggested he made a mistake in currency.
If this one shopkeeper persists, unwanted "extreme" inflation may occur on several
very common items, and those lots - for sellers not paying attention when adding
to their inventory - might become impossible to sell.

If Bricklink supported tags on catalog items (which could be reviewed/flagged
by catalog admins just like any other change) it would make it easier to find
things and there would be less "what is this" questions on the forums. For example
a minifig torso from a NinjaGo Zane minifig could have "NinjaGo" and "Zane" added
as tags. Or a part like 60208 (Wheel 31mm D. x 15mm Technic) could have tags
like "turbine" and "engine" added since its been used as an aircraft/spacecraft/boat/hovercraft
engine part in so many sets. (its never even been used as a wheel as far as I
can tell and no tyres exist that fit it).

I am sure people here can think of many other uses for tags on catalog items...
Brickset has tags on sets and its quite useful.

Yes please !!
Just yesterday I asked to correct (what i thought was) a typo in catalogue.

Turns out (nexo knight) gLoblin cannot be found by searching for goblin.
I was looking for this specific tile, which should interest future generations
of dark fantasy MOC'rs;
http://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=3069bpb463&idColor=2#T=C&C=2

Using tags, I foresee higher trade volumes, especially toward new customers or
people who are little acquainted to BL catalogue.

1x (3001) Black Brick 2X4 (inventory says 5 but there should only be 4)

I am really disappointed with the inventory of set 8097-1

My part-out slave promised me all the bricks a while back but was running late,
and so on Friday I already sold 2x of "Dark Bluish Gray Slope 18 4 x 2 " of which
there are, according to BL, 6 of in each set. Turns out there is none... not
ONE !!!

Yesterday evening after a weekend that felt more like a workweek I arrived at
her place, asking for my urgent bricks on 2 ALREADY PAID orders I spent a couple
of hours on ... and it looks like the (6x) 18 4 x 2 are somehow replaced by
at first glance (4x) 33 3 x 2.
So I had to make a phone call and ask a BIG FAVOR to get the parts from the biggest
AFOL I know, drive 15 miles extra this morning, under office hours. And promise
him I would return them. So now I HAVE TO buy some new sets to part out containing
this part to make good on the promise. Meehhhh...
Anyway long story short : not amused ....
PS : just venting

but still: WTF is up with "np1989 (4) inventoried this Set on May 7, 2010, inventory
last updated on Jan 21, 2015. CPgolfaddict (2014) confirmed accuracy of this
inventory on Feb 15, 2011. (source: Sealed Set Contents)"

Numerous revisions and still FAIL

This is why we need a big notice that alerts sellers to any inventory note before
they part out a set.

Please see the note on this inventory at the bottom of the page:

An alternate version of instructions for this set is represented in the Alternate
section by match number 99.

There are two different versions of the set, and this has been painstakingly
studied and the inventory adjusted accordingly:
http://www.bricklink.com/catalogInvChangeItem.asp?itemType=S&itemNo=8097-1&viewDate=Y&viewStatus=1

The version of the set you have has the parts that are listed with a 99 (see
right side of page) in the Alternate section. Which means if you parted out the
set and didn't choose these alternates, you have got a much bigger problem
than one missing lot. You need to check your stock against *every* lot in the
inventory with a match number of 99, both Regular and Alternate.

To avoid this problem in the future, please read the inventory note before parting
out any set.

Thanks for the clarification, I was not aware of this.
Now I will pay extra attention, hope these WILD aberrations only happen with
older sets...

( my way of work with my part-out slave is );
1. Drop off 2 or 3 different types of sets each in 3 to 8 fold at her place
2. When deadline approaches: Part out all sets into my BL inventory, items of
which I have less than 300 pcs as StockRoom B. Then when I feel I am going to
get my bricks, they go into my shop.
3. In the meanwhile I compile a printed list with images for all sets blended
together, based on my own excelfile, MACROtized/ordered according to "My Remarks"
so it can easily be stored it in the right labeled box A-Z without running needless
miles in scattered ways

In short, the Big Plus with my method:I get everything in order according to
my specific storage system.

Now I should alter my method and keep it in Stockroom B a while longer I guess
... and again extra work in checking what inventory I got. Too bad, I'm really
starting to believe The LEGO Company could be the Evil Empire

  Hi all,

I've had this idea some time ago and didn't see a reason why it shouldn't be
possible: Why isn't Bricklink opening an 2nd PayPal Account in Europe, to let
the sellers pay directly in Euro and to save losses
a) due to the bad paypal conversion rate and
b) due to higher paypal taxes for international transactions
As a lot of sales is done in Euro it would be a very good opportunity to let
the european sellers pay their fees in Euro.

Of course I'm aware of the fact that BrickLink needs his money in USD, but i
suppose it would me more rentable to let the sellers pay in Euro and to exchange
the money by the bank exchange rates.

As a seller I got to handle this problem by letting people pay in USD, so I can
use that money for BrickLink fee payments. Nevertheless I suppose that other
sellers from EU accepting just Euro have to pay the bad conversion rate paypal
gives them (if not paying directly by credit card in USD, of course). But in
fact this suggestion should be of use especially for BrickLink itself.

I'd like to know what you are thinking about this.

Best regards
Andrei

Hi Andrei,

the idea should be considered. The investment mother company of BrickLink has
operations in Belgium so they could then also offer to pay BL fees for EU members
in Euro with SEPA.

This saves EU members to convert into USD and saves 5 % paypal Fee.

kind regards,

Stefan

Hi is there any news on this ? I fully agree there should be an IBAN option for
EU-sellers. BrickLink can then opt to convert to USD at a time of favorable exchange
rates. It's a win-win. Or use the money to pay the Belgian venture capitalists.
Please please BL 2.0, include this
