up to whatever the person who adds it feels like doing?

My sense is that if they were supposed to be a small minifig then it was added
as such and if it was used as an actual statue/toy then it was added as a utensil.

Yep.

   Astronaut guy doesn't seem to follow the pattern.

I tried to have this fixed almost three years ago and was rejected by the catalog
admins at that time without even an explanation.

You are exceptionally polite in your persistence.

  Hello

I got a quote request from a customer saying that the shipping was too high.
When I looked at the order it looks like the below piece is the issue.
I have shipped this part before with no issues as lettermail.
With Canada post anything thicker than 2cm must be sent as parcel which is much
more expensive.
I am trying to understand how bricklink takes the 2x2x2 and translates that to
shipping dimensions in centimetres or inches.
Also can someone help me to understand how this can be 2x2x2 when one side is
longer than it is wide.
Is one of the measurements stacked bricks?

Thanks for any help

Edward

Thank you this helps, but it doesn’t address how bricklink uses this information
as it relates to packaging limits.

BrickLink keeps a separate database for packaging dimensions not related to the
format of our catalog data. The new database was derived from a mishmash of sources
but is now updated by members posting in a certain thread here in the Forum.
You can only view the dimensions entered for the parts in your shop on the My
Inventory pages.

Hope that helps,
Jen

Please make changes to the following inventory:

Set No: 10176 Name: Royal King's Castle
*
10176-1 (Inv) Royal King's Castle
811 Parts, 12 Minifigures, 2006
Sets: Castle: Knights Kingdom I

* Change 2 Part Black {2453 Brick 1 x 1 x 5 (Undetermined Stud Type) to 2453a Brick 1 x 1 x 5 - Blocked Open Stud or Hollow Stud}
* Change 13 Part Light Bluish Gray {2453 Brick 1 x 1 x 5 (Undetermined Stud Type) to 2453a Brick 1 x 1 x 5 - Blocked Open Stud or Hollow Stud}
* Change 2 Part Reddish Brown {4460 Slope 75 2 x 1 x 3 (Undetermined Stud Type) to 4460a Slope 75 2 x 1 x 3 - Open Stud}

Comments from Submitter:
I acquired this set from its original owner in fantastic shape and still built. I am reasonably confident that these parts were not mixed with other sets, and this can be treated as a reliable source to update the inventory.

  Congrats Hygrotus! And thanks for all the work you're doing

I second this. He puts in far more work than many people realize for the site.
Check out the list of top contributors:

I love this page. It's good food for those of us who are a wee bit competitive.

The contributions page shows he is in the top four contributors for all but a
single category. And that page reflects the entire 20-year history of BrickLink.

  I have several games that I want to add. The GAME value is not in the catalog
list.

As an example I am trying to add: Lava Dragon: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?G=G3838#T=P

The inventory app will not accept: G3838, 3838-1, G3838-1 WT#?!?

I just added Lava Dragon with no problems. What pages are you using that you
are seeing this error?

Jen

I didn't look to see who added the minifigures! (face palm)

If I would have seen it was you, I would have said "They are correct."

Awww, thank you!

I have made mistakes from time to time though...

Minifigures: LEGENDS OF CHIMA

* Delete 1 Part 11098 Pearl Gold Minifigure, Armor Breastplate with Shoulder Pads, Front Stud and 2 Back Studs
* Add 1 Part 11097 Pearl Gold Minifigure, Armor Shoulder Pads with Front Stud and 2 Back Studs

Comments from Submitter:
Wrong armor shoulder pads are listed for this figure, this can be confirmed from the instruction download from lego on page 5 of set 70010. I have this figure and can provide picture of correct setup if needed.

This has been wrong in the catalog for a long time and many sellers probably
have this listed as pictured. So it would be better to add a new minifigure and
have this one marked for deletion.

It looks like the armor shoulder pads for this minifigure were switched with
another minifigure this is pcitured with 11097 when it should have 11098. Can
you also add a new minifigure for this one?

Minifig No: loc042 Name: Razar - Pearl Gold Armor
*
loc042 (Inv) Razar - Pearl Gold Armor
Minifigures: LEGENDS OF CHIMA

TLG either got the instructions wrong or got the official box and set images
wrong. The box and set images show the minifigures as they are in the catalog,
but the downloaded instructions show them reversed. My kids have this set. I
will find the hard copy instructions that I have to see if they match the downloaded
instructions. Maybe the online instructions are wrong.

Cheers,
Randy

I think you might be a bit confused about how this form works. What were you

By the way, I see that Bricklink's descriptions are a bit off and need improvement

"Purchase Confirmation: Sent to a buyer who made a purchase with Instant Checkout"

Not true, only when it is paid onsite. Otherwise it is not sent.

"Order Invoice: Sent to a buyer who you issued an invoice to"

...or sent instantly by Instant Checkout, unless the order is paid onsite.

I reported the typo and the poor grammar on that page to BrickLink for 6 months
before I gave up. Even rewrote the whole thing correctly for them. No one was
interested.
