Character based animals like these are a complete mess. None of them are minifigures
according to the LEGO descriptions.
|
Actually, the 2013 book LEGO Minifigure Year by Year: a Visual Dictionary states
that a minifigure must consist of the standard minifig parts, and shows that
figs like skeletons and mini dolls are not figures, as they do not use enough
regular figure parts to actually count as one.
Confusing, huh?
|
Not really on LEGO's side. LEGO's definitions are really quite clear,
at least for modern sets, as they state which characters in sets are minifigures
and which are not, using language like figures, characters, droids, etc when
they are not minifigures.
For example, Barracuda Bay: "The set has 8 minifigures including Captain Redbeard,
Lady Anchor, Robin Loot and twins Port and Starboard for pirate role-play action,
plus a shark, pig, 2 parrots, 3 crabs, 2 frogs and 2 skeleton figures."
They are also clear that C-3PO is a minifigure, and R2-D2 is not: "This immersive
build is a great way to relax and reconnect with your Star Wars passion. A Dewback
LEGO figure and 2 Landspeeders complete a wonderful display piece. Bring your
Tatooine scene to life with 21 LEGO minifigures, including Luke Skywalker, Han
Solo and C-3PO, new-for-October-2020 Ponda Baba, Garindan and Labria, plus an
R2-D2 LEGO droid figure" (from the Cantina.)
It is BL's definitions that are confusing and inconsistent.
|
The confusing thing is that they state they are not minifigures, then proceed
to include them and tons of variants in a book ABOUT minifigures

I'm not against this idea but I have a feeling the Admins/Bricklink will
be plus you also have to consider how far we can stretch things because if you
give every minifig two entries does that actually benefit Bricklink for the better?
I mean do we really want to see caped and non caped versions for each and every
minifigure for example? Well I would'nt have a problem with that either but
there are certainly some minifigs that would benefit a lot more from having two
entries and it may be better starting at these before overcomplicating the catalog
with too many entries when there is only one single part different between them
|
Probably not....

Do you mean sh229? If so, it will stay as space iron man, as that is what he
is officially called on the set’s box and is recognized by lego as that, despite
the fact it is supposed to represent the Mark 39.
On BrickLink, the catalog entries are named after what they are called in the

Well, in the games they are not really a “character”. They are an item. In the

A Monty Mole for example seems very much like an animal to me because it is a
mole and not sentient in any way

What about under "part"?

| I noticed that the Cars 3 cars are classified as minifigures. The older ones
for 1 and 2 in 2011 are built in pretty much the same way, but are not minifigs.
How does this make any sense? Should we put the older cars as figs or make
a new listing for the complete car under parts (kind of like how a full dinosaur
goes under parts) so people can find the individual cars easier? Just a thought
Stay safe!

| I think we should get a better system for the gallery. I tried searching up something
simple and got many results that don’t match. Should we get an upgrade for it
or not?

| I think that when going to a category such as Minifigures, parts, or sets there
should be an option to sort from highest to lowest price and vice versa. A benefit
of this would be if I wanted, say, a Ninjago villain because all I have are ninja,
but I don’t want to pay a lot, I could just sort the entire Ninjago minifigure
category from lowest to highest price and select the first cool villain I find,
which is obviously the cheapest because of how it would be sorted. It would make
it a lot easier than searching through a bunch of characters and writing down
all the prices. I have added a picture of where this should go in the catalogue.
I hope you consider my suggestion.

| Can someone do an inventory for the Minecraft husk? The minifigure’s page says
it’s made from N/A.
Someone should fix this. I don’t know how to.
