I may have misspoke. I don't wan't an email, or a message sent out. (Most of
those suggestions ask for some version of a message to be sent) Just a note on
the page when you go to part the set out.

Ok, an inventory was submitted, and the submitter forgot the extras.
Why would you want to be alerted?
Haven't you counted the parts when you added them to your inventory?

Maybe I set the parts that aren't in the inventory yet to the side to add manually.
If I go to part out the set again a day (a week, and hour) later, it would be
nice if there was a simple alert (could just be one line of text) that says that
the inventory was updated/changed since I last parted out the set. Then I could
check to see what those changes were.

The coding wouldn't be intense, if the inventory has been changed since the last
time the set was parted out, display message.
Or even easier, just put a note that says the last time the inventory was updated/changed
no matter what.
Either way I don't want a message to be send out, just displayed

And lazyness is awesome! Am I expected to just toss out my remote control? My
power steering? My wife?

I fear people would ignore those, just as much as they ignore the search option.
Although it would save people the trouble of re-typing the most popular ansewers
to questions

Catalogs are a bit different then parts, but I see your point. Perhaps maybe
put the weight in, but have it show in red if it was entered automatically. I
would like to think that it would be correct more often then not, but this way,
if you see a weight or dimension in red, then you know it was just copied, and
you can verify it, and enter it if you choose to.

That data can always be updated if it is incorrect. That's how it works now,
if you see something that is incorrect, just change it.

The pieces with different paint applications have the same base part number.
So once one of them has the weight added, all the others variations, (or all
the future ones entered) would just populate that field automatically.

Those pieces are the same, just taken from a different angle.

Just curious if it's possible and/or practical to make it so the the weight/dimensions
etc
when parts with only a color variation are entered into the catalog?

For example, when this is added,

Part No: 98140pb04 Name: Lower Body with Tail with Orange Scales Pattern
*
98140pb04 Lower Body with Tail with Orange Scales Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Legs, Modified, Decorated

can is just take the attributes from this?

Part No: 98140pb01 Name: Lower Body with Tail with Yellow and Light Blue Scales Pattern
*
98140pb01 Lower Body with Tail with Yellow and Light Blue Scales Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Legs, Modified, Decorated

I just use the remark section in that specific situation. When I know i need
a lot of a part, but will be willing to buy fewer from a store.
Might not be the best solution for you, but it's simple

ditto, that would greatly help with the people that change their mind after they
see the shipping price, or think the shipping is included.

Just submit your photo. It it's better, I'm sure they'll use it.

sounds too Paypal-ish.
What amount would possibly deter scammers? Seems like they would be happy to
pay it to seem more trustworthy

Would it be possible to merge a remark if it is exactly the same as one that
is already there? Or just not put it there again if it is already in the remarks
field?

I don't know if this is possible, or if the option exist and I just overlooked
it

I've had the same problem, I just make a new wanted list. Then when I find the
part, I just delete the entire list.
I feel your pain, and realize there can be an easier way, but I don't think it's
worth the amount of time it would take to make it happen.

Hahaha. Well, is your kid a rocket scientist?

As long as the message states it's automatically generated from Bricklink, and
not the seller hassling them, I'd be okay with it
