  WHAT I AM SEEKING

I want something like a coupon, except, where I the buyer, offer to pay for something
the next time I place and order with that store.

THE PROBLEM
Of the 30x orders I have placed in the previous months, I have had a funny thing
happen in one of them.

I was sent some extras, and all by mistake by the seller. They where not even
meant to be getting sent out that day, yet, here they are.

Naturally, I want to make it good with the seller, by either returning, or paying
for the items of which they sent by mistake.

As I aim to purchase more from that store in say a few weeks, perhaps a month
or two, it makes prudent sense for me to postpone this payment, until such time
as when I make the payment for that future order.

As I said, I have placed 30x orders in the last month or two, it is hard for
me to keep track, and, often forget totally too. What I may dub as a counter-coupon,
is seen by me as the perfect solution to this problem.

If the seller has made an error then currently you can return them (ideally at
the seller's expense), the seller can let you keep them for free, or you
can even pay the seller if you want to keep them (although this means no tax
is paid). If you really want to keep them and pay the seller for them, why not
just pay him when you notice?

If you were to pay through an anti-coupon, then tax / VAT would need to be added
since the payment is for a transaction going through BL. Similarly BL fees should
also be applied, but BL has no record of the contents of the transaction taking
place since no items are bought. They can add their fee to the anti-coupon but
not record the parts' sales.

Probably the cleanest way of resolving it if you want to do it all legitimately
is that you buy the items from the seller's store, pay zero postage or handling
fees, but do pay for the items and any taxes due.

It would make accounting difficult as well, if a seller doesn't know if and
when you are going to place another order. Especially concerning missing stock
write-offs, tax and whether it is paid in the same tax year or not.

What would happen now, when there is a missing part?

If I was to send payment now, anything less than having that paypal link is just
not worth the bother.

And, payment systems like PayPal, charge a different % based on how much the
transaction is worth. By me sending this payment with the total sum of another
order, when the missing part may be less than $1 or 1 pound, you do the maths
here.

Over the last month or so, I have placed some 30 orders, and naturally some issues
come up, of which can be done better.

THE EXPERIENCES
This is in respect to, when I place an order with a store, sometimes they are
not able to find many of the part(s) of which I am seeking to purchase.

This can get complicated, where I have already made my payment for that order
as I do via PayPal.

As I am prepared to buy there again soon, my option has always been, for the
vendor/seller to issue me a coupon to the value of the missing parts.

WHAT I SEEK HERE IS
Rather than be issued a coupon, there are some improvements of which can help
here.

#1, A search option for that store, which will give me only the items of which
are exactly the price of the missing part(s)

#2, A search option, which shows up only the items of which are below that value.

#3, An easy reference point, like in a cart, of which says, how much to go before
I reach the value of these missing part(s)

#4, Let the seller suggest buying these instead

WHERE IS MY IDEA FOCUSED
--- Is in respect to the "Order Status" on the Orders Placed page.

WHAT I SEEK
--- In addition to the Status of 'Sent', I want another one with
a word that means, its ready to pick up.

PROBLEM I SEE
--- Recently with the 30 or so orders I have placed in the past two months,
I have a few, where I have the opportunity to go and pick up the order from the
seller, to save money and other things.

The word 'Sent' does not suit these types of orders. Some of the sellers,
do not set it to Sent, where I needed to ask them to do that, after I have picked
up the order, so I can in turn click it onto Completed.

I will suggest, not only have the Second option to the Sent status message, but,
also, to have an option other than received as its follow up. Such as "Picked
Up" just for me to say I got it.

Could there also be an "Error" status, for when the vendor/seller can not find
a particular part(s) for the order, This will be replaced with "Resolved" once
that has been done.

Further to this, for me the buyer, to have the option of say "Short" or "Dispute"
when, the order does not include all the bits I have ordered. I do seem to
have this a fair bit. I do place large and complicated orders of which test
the best at times.

I have a proposed moc, needing specific shapes of parts, but the colors do not
matter. In fact, I prefer the greatest range of colors for this moc.

In the wanted list, I am required to select a specific color it seems. The only
way for me to select several colors is, to select a wanted item in each of those
colors.

Is there a better way, if so, please explain.

  WHAT I SEEK

There are some ways of doing this.

#1, Let the retailer specify how much space there is, and somehow be able to
fill that virtually in some way?

It's rare that the order is space constraint; much more likely that adding
more bricks will bring it up to the next weight band. That information is already
shown in your shopping basket or at checkout. Some sellers even have this in
their payment instruction message: "your order currently weighs x grams; you
can add upto y grams for the same shipping cost".

In practice, I've never really considered these factors when choosing what
to order extra. Only things like: will this become a package or stay a small
envelope.

This. Sure, there may be extra room in the package, but to fill it would jump
the weight and the shipping price up by quite a bit. One of the main boxes I
use for first class is 5 cubed. To completely fill the box would increase the
weight to over a pound; so I would then put it into a priority box, which is
larger. So now you have even more space to fill, and your shipping charge just
jumped up a bunch.

Also, how in the world would the shipper notify as to how much space is left?
I don't know what package I'm going to use until after I've put the
order together and am ready to ship it. To notify customers of how much space
is left would then delay the shipment, which most customers wouldn't appreciate.
Then what do I tell them, that there is .67 x 1.3 x .897 inches left available
in the package? I'm not going to take the time to figure that out first of
all, then that wouldn't even be much help to the customer to figure out exactly
how much more he can fit.

Sorry, but this is one of those ideas that sounds good on paper, but would have
many flaws and issues if people tried to put it into practice.

What if this was optional?

Let the store decide if they want to specify this or not?

Often, I am faced with a delivery, where, whilst the smallest parcel size available
was provided, there is still, plenty of space in it, of which I could of had
filled with more Lego from that seller/retailer.

I seek some options in, being able to do this when adding to an order.

--- Background ---

As you understand, I have items on each of six levels of priorities as follows,

#1, URGENTLY NEEDED, I have a moc I need to build in the next weeks. Say, its
for a show, or to be done by a particular event such as a birthday or etc.

#2, MOC ON STANDBY, I have a MOC sitting there, needing these missing parts to
complete it.

#3, URGENT SPARES. Similar to the above, but, I do not know how many I need,
and, will always get extras now just in case. Whatever the store has, depending
on finance etc.

#4, ANYTIME SOON. I have a moc idea, for later in time, but will not buy the
parts for that MOC just yet, unless I find them at a good bargain. I am most
likely on the lookout for these parts at a good price, or, if I see it with a
store, I am buying #1 or #2 from, I may buy those there and then also. Otherwise,
I would rather wait.

#5, JUST BOOSTING STOCKS, I dont have a MOC idea for these, but, may like to
add these to a MOC sometime later in the future.

#6, FUN TO COLLECT. I will buy these, only to fill my budget, and/or if I find
them at a good rate.

-------

Naturally, with time, and finances being limited, I need to set priorities on
what to get now, and what to hold off for later. So, I have these many sub-lists.

HOW/WHEN WILL THIS HELP
Often, I, place an order with priorities #1, or #2. But, I still have #3,
#4 and #5 parts I would like to get too. But, naturally, these are not in the
current order, as, I just can not justify them 'just like that'.

However, knowing there is space inside the existing parcel, may be the one thing,
that would have me want to get one or two extra pieces while I am there.

WHAT I SEEK

There are some ways of doing this.

#1, Let the retailer specify how much space there is, and somehow be able to
fill that virtually in some way?

#2, Be able to provide a list to the retailer, and ask, to fill what you can
of these. Perhaps in any order or priority??

#3, Be able to split my wishlist, into these priorities.

I am talking about when you select to see the list of carts you have items in.

Or, on the file of, storeCartList.asp

I seek the addition of a third column, showing the money value of items in that
respective cart. I dont know if we just have one, for say the parts value, or,
the total, or, both?

Also, some way to enable us, to mark cart priority. Such could be the text note
like what you have under "Purchases".

While I am here, can we also have the following on this same table too....
....mark which carts are below the 'store minimum'
....When you placed the first item into this cart
....when you last updated the cart

Last week, I have been in something of a frantic rush, to get all of the parts
I need, for a MOC, that I need to be ready by the end of next week.

For me, price is vital, due to affordability reasons too. Therefore I need to
plan carefully, then, once the money comes in, time to for an instant splurge
on all of my carts.

I had to place orders with 14 different stores, and before that, I had spent
many days searching through almost 20 carts I had worked up in the lead to the
splurge event.

Then, with money and time running out, there is an almost panic rush to make
sure I have not left anything out of what I need. I found that to be a nightmare,
I gave up on, but my solution idea below, would fix that quite easy.

It is quite a nightmare, scrolling through 14 different stores I have purchased
from, then to add the many of the carts I still need, and so on. There is just
one solution, that is simple to do, yet will help me in a major way.

SOLUTION

Have the ability, for me to get one single, and complete list, of all the items
I have purchased across those many orders I have paid for.

++ One for just the orders I have placed. This will help me tick off, what I
no longer need to purchase. Helps me greatly in knowing how much of what, I
may still need to get.

++ The option to include all carts, across all stores that I have items in their
carts.

++ Some way to compare Purchases vs Cart vs Wishlist.

Also while I am here

I would value having the ability to run a 'cart priority'. Doing a wishlist
is not an option at this stage. only a cart, ready to push through the register,
is good enough here.

I naturally, do one cart for selected items. This guy is the cheapest. But,
I may have a week before I get the funds required to buy it with. He/She may
sell out before I get that cart to the register. So, naturally, I will have
my 'backup cart'. with stocks from a second cheapest store, just in case
store #1 has sold out before I could buy that cart.

A simple means to mark each of the carts, in some way. Perhaps up to three or
four lists. Some ideas to think about.

Where I am talking about
In the Price guide under the column of 'current items for sale' and where there
is a list of such retailers for new and used etc.

I seek to expand on the red cube=will not sell to me, green cube=will sell to
me.

What I request to be put there

I seek the following extra options

++Those in my own country (Say Blue)
Make a distinction between the two groups of whom will sell to me, change
the Green to 'Sellers outside your country who will sell to me' AND have a new
one, 'Will sell to me, and are within my own country'

++Stores from my favorites list (Say Yellow)

++Stores from my 'least favorite list' (Say Purple)

And while I am here, why not include...
++Closed stores (Say orange)
