The worst part is how vague they are. Like narrow it down to the city/state/ISP
and the IP address. Most security like this also give the name the device is
using on the network. But telling me someone logged into my account from my
own country is useless.

Also, after I changed my password and logged in on my laptop, I didn't have
to log in with my phone. Same network, and google/chrome pwd autofill, but makes
me wonder.

The shopping side of BL is down (store.bricklink.com). I get a 502 bad gateway
error. I verified against isitdownrightnow.com .

Lots of text boxes changed text and background color for me. The only other
site I've noticed changes on is lego.com . Win 10 has the problem, but my
phone and my win 11 laptop work fine. Chrome browser everywhere.

In Help, Nubs_Select writes:
This morning I accepted an order item removal request and ever since then all
websites on my PC (mainly bricklink) look weird I tried looking up a solution
online but couldn't find one so I thought I should ask here as it happened
when I clicked a link from a bricklink email (not a phishing email) I have some
photos. The problem includes almost invisible text, Black screen, etc. I've
tried clearing cache and changing bricklink to light mode and back to dark mode
with no success. Also it works perfectly find on my phone Any help would be appreciated!

This is more of a heads-up for a severe bug. I had a 78 lot order on 9-11 at
17:43 where *none* of the items were removed from my inventory. Plenty of variety
of partial/full lot purchases. Some items set to retain, most are not. Order
#17132161 in case an admin sees this.

Thankfully I noticed it while pulling, and not a week later when the items sell
again. Brick Junkies mentioned on the Brick Slingers podcast last night that
they found an order from a week or so ago that also had the same problem. Unfortunately
they discovered it because they had a string of orders that they were missing
parts for.

Having to fix 78 lots is enough of a pain.

These are being packed at the Lego factory like a normal set, instead of hand
picking every set like the prior BL sets, right? So just remove the purchase
limits and set a reasonable time to get your pre-order in. If you need to set
delivery at 1 year for sets over 5k, then so be it.

10k castle sets is $1.8m, or about 0.03% (no, not 3%) of their annual sales.
Lego can absolutely make room in their production schedule with 6-12 months
lead time for pre-ordered sets. Even if the factories are at full capacity (Lego
*is* expanding, regardless), they can bump one set, or trim their first wave
of something. They re-ran the entire Lego Movie 1 line in 3 months by bumping
that summer's Technic line back, and still increased production 13% that
year, and even more in 2015. Doubling the castle again would be the equivalent
of bumping a small speed champions car for *presold* sets.

Just shut up and take our money.

Exclusivity and purchase limits incentivize set flippers. It artificially restricts
availability of the set, driving up the price, making it more lucrative to use
alternate means to order more.

If you want to cut down on flipping, allow unlimited pre-orders during a generous
window so that everyone can get one. Then people who *do* flip sets will increase
the supply, keeping aftermarket prices down, instead of driving them up.

This should be the seller's choice. Thanks to some obnoxious decision, I
have to manually list treasure chests in sets as a single item. But at least
I still have the choice. Buyers seem willing to pay a little extra to have the
parts grouped together. It saves them the hassle of wading through sellers missing
the counterpart piece. Or worse yet, having to pay shipping on two packages.

It would help if the price guide had an option to display qty avg sales by my
own country too. I'd love to be able to part out sets at local rates, instead
of having the prices dragged down by someone in Europe who selling parts bought
in massive bulk from the factory store, or artificially inflated due to a particular
set having gone on a massive sale.

I wanted to run an idea by you guys see what you think, I think it would be really
beneficial and helpful. In the price guide, for any particular set, you can see
the purchase history ( which is awesome). I was thinking, would there be a way
to add which country an item sold in? I feel like that would give us sellers
an idea where an item is hot, and compare that with the pricing. Anyways I think
it would be great, let me know what you think

Thanks for the suggestion, and it's helped a little to slow people down.
But it's only enforced for that shipping method. It's not like the
master setting where they're notified that they haven't reached the minimum,
and blocked from checking out. And it doesn't stop people from checking
out via manual invoicing.

You can with the new instant checkout shipping settings.

I don't mind small orders ($2+) in the USA, but international orders are
such a pain that I dread anything under $40. Now the customs forms are a minor
hassle, but buyers often don't understand English well, are annoyed at me
over the sky-high USPS rates (as if I can change them), and if I make a mistake
and have to ship a missing part, it costs a fortune.

I don't want to shut off international sales altogether because international
resellers place orders I love. But orders where the postage costs more than
the parts just aren't worth it.

I would just omit the self-bought data from the price guide. I take a lot of
parts out of my inventory for personal use, and I wouldn't use the check
out system for pulling parts, as most of what I pull comes from my stockroom,
which doesn't show up in the store. Now if they added a feature to show
my stockroom items when I'm looking at the price guide or my own store,
and let me create a pull sheet like a normal order, *that* would be awesome.

In Suggestions, WoutR writes:
I can absolutely see the need for testing, but I am wondering how far the test
order has to go. If the order is completed there are fees, the possibility to
manipulate price guide data and the possibility to give yourself feedback...
so the test order should stop before those actions happen.

I can see sellers wanting to use the order process as a way to adjust their inventory,
but I think that that would create to many potential issues.

I know it's already been hashed over and over that sellers want to be able
to buy in their own store, and, for reasons I still cannot fathom, BL has refused
to allow it. But that isn't why I'm posting here.

The real problem is that I'm unable to test my store settings from a customer's
perspective. This is %$#%@# ridiculous. No store on the planet has a policy
that stops employees and management from taking items to a register and going
through check out process (and then void the sale, or abandon it before finishing).
Now this new instant check out has me setting up a system that I'm barred
from using without going to someone else's store to experience their *different*
configuration.

I guess I need to set up a shill account in violation of BL's terms just
so I can make sure my store works as I intend?

Please restore the max price filter in a store's wanted list results so that
it hides overpriced items. Or at least gray out the entire entry so that it's
easier to find the items that are under my max price. It can of course be an
option alongside the other filters.

Simply showing overpriced items with the price in red is makes acceptable prices
very hard to spot, especially when the good prices are in black like all the
other text. I use the wanted list extensively to find utility parts at good prices
so I can pad out my order. Having a store turn up hundreds of overpriced results
when they only have 5 parts that fit my criteria is useless.

It looks like BL needs a way to create generic coupons that anyone can use.
Having to make a coupon for each user is a waste of time.

I think "min 10" would be clearer.

I *wish* BL would allow minimum purchases. I really couldn't care less whether
someone wants to buy 30 of a 5c part, or 31 of them. Even if I had them pre-bagged
in 10x increments, it wouldn't be a problem to add 1 more, because I'd
store them together.

But I'd really love to be able to set a minimum purchase (say 10 or 20) on
cheap parts.

I think it would be more productive to code the various types of fees that sellers
charge so they appear in the cart before checking out. Eg. standard handling
fee, international handling fee, paypal fee, international paypal fee, per-lot
fee, excessive lot fee, small order fee, etc. That way the only thing the seller
should have to put in would be the exact postage.

I would agree with at least a 25c cutoff. I wanna be able to incrementally cut
my prices by a few percent, and not have them get rounded back up to the original
price each time. Or have a 5% cut rounded up to 10%.

Troy's example is really bad. He's suggesting that it's ok to have 4 significant
digits on prices near $30, while also suggesting that 10-99c items should only
have 2 significant digits. Maybe we should just stick with 3 digits so that
a seller would have to choose between $30.0 and $29.9 , or $3.00 and $2.99, or
30.0c and 29.9c . A standard policy like this would work equally for any currency.

In Suggestions, crazylegoman writes:
I would say yes, but at 20¢ or 25¢ instead of 10¢. Also, would this minimum
amount have to be decided differently for each currency? (10¢ in USD might convert
to a really odd threshold amount in other currencies if it were a flat amount
across the board.)

I would think you would just change the status from 'processing' to 'ready',
or from 'paid' to 'packed' if you pick after payment instead of before.

In Suggestions, 1devils1 writes:
I've stopped printing orders and now pick from the screen.

Any chance of having a tick box next to each item on the order screen to say
you've picked it. This does not need to be a field and could clear when you close
the order screen.

Much better for the environment.
