Don't worry about it too much. We got several of them and don't bother
contacting the buyer. As you already know, it won't affect sales.

Order information is not saved. The button is only accessible when importing
the order (so just re-import to get the info back).
As to why: orders change and it would be very confusing to have stale order info
data saved in a file.

Package visited JAMAICA NY on 02/11, 02/13, 02/15 with a stop @ SAN FRANCISCO
02/14, then went to SINGAPORE (destination country) - back to New York - stop
at ZURICH, SWITZERLAND 😉

How many extra miles it went?

Hi BrickLink!

I guess people in Forum could get a quick and dirty answer about this specific
problem?

I'm at maybe 50 payments cancelled, none has gone through for 3 days...

Otherwise I guess we could each open a ticket, but maybe it'll take you less
time to reply to a post than to 10 tickets? Just a suggestion tough

Thank you!

Nice try. Haven't heard from help desk for any of our bug reports, neither
this one nor the PayPal refund issue. Since there is no separate HelpDesk site
anymore, all went into a blackhole without anyway to follow up ☹

Stripe said it's Bricklink 😏

and it somehow got put in to a large box instead of medium. So I refunded the
buyer $4 for the overage yesterday. Today I was buying shipping for last night's
orders and noticed on paypal a refund for $21.35. If it were $3, $5, or heck,
even $40 I might understand that being a fat finger situation; but $21.35 is
kind or precise.

Is there any way to remedy this or am I just going to have to eat it?

We did and have proof something is not right.

I didn't check with the buyer, but I believe he got $3.00.

Yes, your buyer got the $3 total, no worries there. When you refund an amount,
Bricklink refunds associated sales tax as well. This is why the $3 is split into
2 parts. BL assumes the $3 includes sales tax.

If your intention was to refund a the $3 in total then you are good. If you want
to refund the $3 PLUS sales tax then you have to adjust the refund upwards by
calculating the sales tax yourself and then playing around with the total until
it equals the $3 + the amount of sales tax you calculated. Very annoying.

Sellers have pointed out that this is confusing and that the sales tax should
be calculated by BL on the refund amount you enter rather than BL assuming the
refund total includes sales tax.

The issue here is NOT sales tax. I planned to refund a total of $3.00, BL changed
it to $2.00 (it's for a single DBG 30383)

You mean the buyer actually only receive $3 (instead of $5) on their PP account?
Or $3 were removed from your PP account?

I mean, it’s not clear (at least to me) if this is not just a UI error.

For the first instant, I got $2.73 deducted from PayPal, BL paid back $0.27.
I didn't check with the buyer, but I believe he got $3.00.

For the refund today, I got $1.85 deducted from PayPal, BL paid back $0.15 tax
collected. I think buyer got $2.00.

In my previous message, you see for today's refund, it supposed to get $2.78
from me and $0.22 from BL for a total of $3.00.

Thank you.

Have you tried with only one item you know you have in stock and should consolidate
and if it matches with this:

"BrickLink determines that the item that is in your inventory is the same
as one you are uploading when the following attributes of the items are the same:

Color
Catalog Item Number
Comments
Condition
Sub-Condition
Reserved for Username
Item is not part of a Super Lot
Concatenating My Remarks - If you select this option and already have remarks
on an existing item, the system appends your new remarks to the old remarks separated
by a comma."

Good point. It's the "comments" field did me in. Thank you!

A couple of weeks back I purchased something off eBay (non LEGO). The listing
said shipping was $15 (which I knew was from zone 7, and sounded roughly correct).
The package arrived today, sent via Ground Advantage, and marked as 15.9 oz.
Before I opened it, I dropped it on my scale … 3-lbs + 2 -oz.

To me, that is just egregious. Being off half an ounce I might understand, but
the seller wanted to maximize their profit. Hopefully, USPS APV picked it up
and charged them for the difference.

Nita Rae

It's pretty common on eBay. I hope USPS Verify Postage caught them.

We received an over 20 lb package shipped as Media Mail and a 7 lb package for
15.9 oz. AFAIK, USPS has no reporting link for such issue.

Well said.

  The seller did nothing wrong.

You weren't able to pay because of something they did not control.

You told them you got an error trying to pay, they canceled the order.

Things should have ended there, with both going about their lives.

Instead, you went out of your way to harm their shop's reputation over something
they had no control over.

Just so you know, the seller could have simply let time run out, set the order
to NPB and then once that clock had run out, cancel the order, leave you a negative
feedback and ding your account with one completed NPB, which after three would
result in you no longer being able to place orders on this site. And had they
done this, they would have been protected against your unwarranted negative feeedback.
Instead of doing this they canceled the order with no negative effect on you.

Cue Mitchell and Webb's skit "Are we the baddies".
