I got an order for a set yesterday, invoiced it today. I then got a message from
the buyer stating that they would like to cancel because they found the set cheaper
somewhere else. Obviously, this is not a valid reason to cancel an order, it
is specifically mentioned as an invalid reason on the help page. I informed the
buyer of this, but the only response I got was an OCR for this order with the
reason being "Seller provided a shipping fee that was too high" with details
of "Tax and shipping cost put used product higher than one product at retail".
A bit of background on the order: This was a $70 set from 2015, and shipping
was only $10. I charged the exact shipping cost with no extra fees.

Obviously, I am within my right to cancel the OCR, but then what? I am always
leery to ship a used set to an unwilling recipient, due to the ease at which
a buyer could lie about missing parts or a "problem" with the order. There
is a higher likelihood of negative feedback. If he filed a PayPal claim I could
get screwed as the seller. I know NPB is an option, but if he pays, then I am
forced to ship to him.

So what would you do? Just cancel and stoplist?

So there are two subjects in play here, one is what to to do about this specific
order, and the second is how to prevent this from happening in the future.

To this specific order ... if the buyer has not made payment, then cancel OCR
and let it go. Feedback is probably not needed, unless buyer chooses to be cranky,
then perhaps a neutral FB stating that buyer walked away from a valid order.

To prevent this in the future, figure out how to set up Instant Checkout. That
will force the buyer to make a final decision before an order exists (and not
afterwards). It's really better for everyone, as it provides the maximum
information way up front.

Thanks.
I like to charge actual shipping cost. BrickLink still hasn’t implemented USPS
zone shipping methods correct? That is why I don’t have it enabled.

Other people will buy it if its priced properly. I have had buyers do this to
me only to come back a month later. Treat them right

You can argue that I should let them cancel, but they 100% do not have the right
on Bricklink. The TOS are black and white. It happens to be a bit frustrating
on my end when the buyer thought that shipping a 3lb item would be some amount
cheaper than $10. This isn't someone who is new to Bricklink. My terms give
an estimate on shipping, which this shipping cost fell toward the low end of.
I have quotes enabled.

I probably will cancel the order, but don't suggest that I would be in the
wrong for not canceling.

In Help, Fragty writes:
  Hi all,

I have a disagreement with a seller about the parts pictured

The set I bought was advertised as "COMPLETE SET IN GREAT CONDITION" but contained
these technic beams.
In MY opinion almost all of these white technic bricks (and some of the plates)
are obviously yellowed. You can clearly see where parts have been in the sun,
and where some of the parts had been covered.

When I addressed this they claim they are, in their opinion, in "good/fair condition
for their age" and they dont want to refund the full amount it would cost to
replace them.

So before I answer them back I want some second opinions.
Am I being too picky here? Is my request for a refund reasonable?
One can expect some lesser white parts with used sets and thats ok, but this
much yellowing in combination with the "IN GREAT CONDITION" description bothers
me. Feels a bit like false advertising.

Koen

I do not think you are being too picky.

Hello, sorry in advance, but I haven’t followed the changes to payment methods
over the last year.

I had an inquiry for local pickup. Is it still possible for a buyer to pay in
cash? How will sales tax work, and will Bricklink allow me to manually set the
order to paid?

Thanks!

  Hi!

Trying to complete a set I bought for my daugther.

I'm looking for 6063639 (Dark Red Prince Charming). She probably gave the
legs to a friend!

Any help would be great!

Thanks!

When comparing two Darth Vader figures I had, I discovered a mold variance between

I think
this new mold was created because in order to create the anniversary figure lego
wanted to use a 1 piece Vader helmet, as opposed to the 2 piece helmets they
switched to a couple of years ago. This mold variation deserves a note in the
catalog entry for the helmet,, or a variant added to the catalog, but I'm
not sure which. If someone wants to take the appropriate action from here, please
go ahead. See the attached image for the differences between the two.

Anyone? Does this mold change necessitate an amendment to the Bricklink Catalog?

It appears it has just been made as an additional note.

I believe this part came with the set but do not want to make a catalog request

If someone else owns this set, can they check if their set contains this part
and then add it as an alternate item?
