  Hello everyone,
I'm trying to check out an order since yesterday evening (MESZ, GMT+1, Germany).
I always get the message "Technical Problem". I've shut off my add-blocker,
i've deleted the whole card and tried again - no effect at all!
Does anybody know this and have a hint for me?
Thx a lot!
Thomas

In Buying, Leftoverbricks writes:
  Over the past four months (July-October) I placed 48 orders from which 10 outside
my own country. From those 10 orders, 2 orders were lost in the mail. That is
20% of orders lost!

Both had tracking, both last scans were somewhere at the customs in Amsterdam,
then nothing after that.
One was from Thailand, the other one from Germany (which shouldn't have make
it to the customs anyway since Germany is EU).
The sellers and I did everything possible so far to connect with the shipping
companies and Postnl, but to no avail. (I like to emphasize that I had no problems
with the sellers involved in the transactions, they were great!)

Packages get lost every time but 20% as in my case is exceptional.
It's getting stranger however.
Both orders were for VERY VERY VERY rare parts. Parts that seldom appear in a
shop because they were only in one set.

To prove this I include two screenshots from the price guide which show the rareness
of the parts I've ordered. The blue dot is me. As you can see the parts are
indeed very rare and pricey. None of the two are available in any shop in the
world.

I'm not paranoid (at least I hope I'm not) but the very coincidence of
ordering two very rare parts on BL that both were lost at Amsterdam customs makes
me think that there's more going on here.

Martin

For efficacious answers/opinions, more frame of reference would be great, i.e.
specific timelines? Unless what you're really asking is to be psychoanalyze

But no, you’re not overly paranoid. That’s how our mind fundamentally processes
thought. How we reason through concepts such as the "coincidence" which is especially
difficult for our minds to accept.

That you posted about it shows that much, imho.

really enjoy your posts, btw.

Got the same yesterday with a few attempts to spread funds around.

Which in retrospect is unfortunate for the selling-members I was to bolster,
though just as well for me.

I'm delving back into BL SW catalog some, digging around. Doing so, I've
stumbled across what seems to be a few anomalies, or not? Just don't know
anymore

For example: why was the Star Wars #1 (Sith Minifigure Pack) of all of the Star
Wars Minifigure Packs of that year (#1 thru #4) assigned the non-specific, generic
subcategory that is Star Wars Other?

Set No: 3340 Name: Star Wars #1 - Sith Minifigure Pack
*
3340-1 (Inv) Star Wars #1 - Sith Minifigure Pack
12 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 3 Gear, 2000
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Other

Set No: 3341 Name: Star Wars #2 - Luke/Han/Boba Minifigure Pack
*
3341-1 (Inv) Star Wars #2 - Luke/Han/Boba Minifigure Pack
9 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 3 Gear, 2000
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

Set No: 3342 Name: Star Wars #3 - Troopers/Chewie Minifigure Pack
*
3342-1 (Inv) Star Wars #3 - Troopers/Chewie Minifigure Pack
11 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 3 Gear, 2000
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

Set No: 3343 Name: Star Wars #4 - Battle Droid Minifigure Pack
*
3343-1 (Inv) Star Wars #4 - Battle Droid Minifigure Pack
12 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 3 Gear, 2000
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 1
I’m sure there’s an obvious and valid reason that just eludes me right now, as
per usual

Thanks in advance

It's because that MF pack is the only one where the MF's span different
movies. The other packs have sets of 3 who appear in the same movie.

David

Thanks, David.

That doesn't quite jive, though. If it's movie assignments for the cataloging,
two of the sets are assigned to the subcategory Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

Okay, I think I understand the logic now. Thanks.
