No need to feel that way. Sometimes it's only a nudge in another direction

Do you mean when viewing specific category pages, or your entire inventory (second

TL;DR version - do the rules about incomplete minifigs also cover substitutions?
I.e. a head that has the same print but a different stud.

Long version - I bought a collection from a family who I know and trust. One
of the sets is an opened but complete

Set No: 7914 Name: Mandalorian Battle Pack
*
7914-1 (Inv) Mandalorian Battle Pack
48 Parts, 4 Minifigures, 2011
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars

The inventory says the minifigs should have type C blocked open stud heads but
3 of them have type B hollow stud heads.

There aren't any

Minifig No: sw0494 Name: Mandalorian Super Commando
*
sw0494 (Inv) Mandalorian Super Commando
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars
which is supposedly the only one with a type
B head.

I've seen some inventories with a note to say that both stud types have been
found in a particular set or minifigure.

Substitutions, as well as incomplete minifigs, are a pet peeve, and I don't
want to list them if they break the rules. Should I request that the alternate
head be noted in the inventory or should the catalog be updated so that the type
B head is associated with both minifigs?

The minifigures in that set’s production timeline stretched through TLG period
of mold changeover.

It's common here that listings don’t denote this. At some point it should
be addressed, but it's a tough one to confirm definitively.

I list such minifigs with the description "latter production, hollow stud mold
type head"

Some collectors don't care to know, a good percentage do though.

make me give up on them. I have had to increase shipping rates and add a processing
fee to offset the increasing fees. The addition of the VAT taxes has made it
nearly impossible to make money on Bricklink. It increases the final sale which
in turn, increases the fees that both Bricklink and PayPal take from you. You
have to notice the huge decrease in stores and customers. What is everyone else's

Not really seeing a suggestion here to vote on. Switched topics to what I though
would do best.

Nothing to do with his behind!

Sure, who knows. Has anyone really witnessed Pollock working in his studio? I

And yes, I really am an art lover but I never saw anything else than dripping

Not just him, but other overly-hyped artist during in and around that period,

Either way given TLG only gave him a very basic minifig head as a body and did'nt
include arms or even his legs if he has them I think its clear that this area
of the minifig is supposed to be hidden out of view therefore making him seem
incomplete without the trash can to serve its purpose

You make a very good point. So I'm back to where I started, confused

What I'm less confused about, is that it can't be easy for those
making catalog listing policies.

So the trash can and it's lid, were more a part of the character's persona
originally?

The idea meshes better knowing that. Thanks.

I've discovered unknown sets before, so the thrill of discovery is not exactly
foreign to me. But I must say the excitement hasn't become stale yet.

Just thought I'd share.

It boggles the mind that there would be any such discoveries at this stage in
BL's catalog development. I gotta think that finding an undiscovered vintage
set to the catalog, would be rare and amongst the top achievements for you guys
working with the catalog, how good it must feel.

Kudos!

Please join me in congratulating him on this achievement.

Well done, Russell. Congrats and thanks, Paul!

Can the A-team get any better!

Kinda like fantasy catalog-football

Maybe move Randy up to reinforce Robert now, with a new first round draft pick
to help Paulvdb in Inventories? Axaday maybe, or even convince Jennifer to give-up
her free agency to re-sign with the team!

In any case, sounds like there may be a new cat-team recruit on the horizon.
There’s plenty of great picks around here, that’s for sure!

Just put in 2 requests to change names of items using -

Catalogue Add/Change Page

When you enter the item code (ie 30222 for popsicle)

there is no notification or display showing the item you have entered

It would be therefore possible to input the item incorrectly (to another that
exists)
and modify it.

Would it not be prudent to show the details of the item you are changing, before
you change it - so as to stop possible errors

Thanks

Just to be clear, do you mean one more page to view that which you're about
to submit, for a once-over prior to the Submit Request tab?

If that's your suggestion, I'm on-board. As it stands now, I'll go
back through my contributions just after submitting, via the
My Activity Overview page. If I find that I've done it wrong or that
it could be better, I delete the submission to resubmit. So an edit page prior
to the Submit Request tab might be handy.

However, when adding or changing pics, you do kinda have such an opportunity
in the uploading of the pic-file step.

this page

Tracy

Yeah, I know the page. And?

Hi

Not quite sure what you mean, but if you go on that page and enter an item number,
you have no idea what it is? There is no description showing. So if you wanted
to change the title of the item, you would either have to paste and edit beforehand,
or have a good memory

Tracy

Okay, I understood you correctly then. Like I said "I'm onboard"

And as I indicated (perhaps too vaguely) you have that opportunity when Catalog
Add/Changing a pic.... perhaps the same step could added to the other add/change
procedures?

Turn off (the completely useless) search suggestions.

For example, I want to search for 850939, I enter that term and hit return. Instead
of searching for that, the search is replaced with "850939 formerly". Yes, I
know that instead of hitting return I can instead stop using the keyboard, grab
the mouse, move it and click search. Meaning I have to do more than entering
the term I want and hitting return, which is what I would expect to do based
on just about every other search engine works.

Given that BL's search is quite pathetic anyway - no fuzzy search, no plural
search, etc. would it be possible to turn off the suggestions for searches as
these are nearly always unhelpful and actually distract from the search I type
in.

If not, at least have the search default to sets at the top of the suggested
list, followed by parts and remove boxes and instructions or have these last
(as these can be found from one click from the set).

I agree. At least until the function has been improved/fixed.

Voted yes.

Trying to understand. I'm sometimes not too good at it, though

I currently can do just that "remove parts" or increase/decrease amounts, with
two clicks from any page

I’m guessing it’s because you’re viewing one cart (in the store).  Iprice is
using “View all carts” and wants the ability to decrease quantities (or “qauntities”?
) in this “all carts” view.

I understood the question as being in the [Shop] at the [Wanted List] tab, having
just added parts from the wanted list into the shopping cart. At that point you
see the message 'Lot successfully added to shopping cart.' and the amount
in your cart, but you can't remove the items from your cart.

You’re right.  I hadn’t read Iprice’s post carefuly.
And I fully blame Popsicle for misleading me!

Guilty as charged

Adding a negative amount would be a nice trick if that were allowed.
Having a link to that lot in your cart would be helpful.
Having a button to delete the lot from your cart would be a solution.
Having an edit control to change the lot at that point would be ideal, if not
cluttering the interface.

Yes.  Simplest would be a “delete from cart” button next to the “x in cart” text.
Negative values are always tricky.

I can increase Quantities however I wish from each seller's "All Items/Newest

decrease this value unless I access the Checkout screen. Its odd that I can add
to it, but not subtract on the same screen. It's very easy to add a wrong
part or find the same items cheaper/newer way down the list (especially if the
seller hasn't concotonated their inventory). Flooring the accumulated Cart
value to zero would prevent negative numbers.

Even if I could just "zero" a quantity in my cart it would help speed things
up a bit. Although speed really doesn;t seem to matter much to BL, does it?

So I find that each time I listed a minifig that was brand new, but missing a
part like an accessory that was in the picture of the fig, like a shoulder piece
or cape, BL in the next day or so would remove it. We can't list figs as
new but incomplete or complete because BL never was set up like that. So BL
deleted my fig post saying it was against the rules but of course no explanation.
Do we really have to list a brand new fig as used, or as parts when it's
missing something like a cape or skirt???

When it gets deleted so quickly, does that mean that another member reported
it quickly to admins to get it removed? Someone said it's the new BL algorithm
that did it automatically, but that can't be true because I see other sellers
figs that are missing parts but still listed as new. So am I being singled out
by someone following me and reporting anything I do just to be a jerk?

Thanks in advance.
