lists one minifig and one assembled robot dog. There are two other minifigs in

Moinkypaws

The other minifigs are inventoried in the set as parts. Perhaps the set instructions
do not show specific minifig builds for these parts? Do you have the instructions
on hand?

Oh, I didn’t know that.  I only know about normal red colours, like blood red,
brick red, burgundy, cardinal, carmine, carnation, cerise, cherry, cherry red,
Chinese red, cinnabar, claret, crimson, damask, fire brick, fire engine red,
flame, flamingo, fuchsia, garnet, geranium, gules, hot pink, incarnadine, Indian
red, magenta, maroon, misty rose, nacarat, oxblood, pillar-box red, pink, Pompeian
red, poppy, raspberry, red violet, rose, rouge, ruby, ruddy, salmon, sanguine,
scarlet, shocking pink, stammel, strawberry, Turkey red, Venetian red, vermillion,
vinaceous, vinous, violet red, wine

(Thank you Wiktionary )

The color of my car (Barcelona Red) didn't make the list?

Hmm, there’s actually a few more in the category ( https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/Category:en:Reds
), like Nantucket red, Hollywood cerise…, but still no Mars Red or Barcelona
Red.
Sorry.

Well your source is very poor IMO. Mars Red is a famous colour, it was the colour
of the Audi quattro in the TV series Ashes to Ashes/Life on Mars (Mars being
just a coincidence I think!)

Very good and I would say observant, were it not for a couple of points

The "2 spikey plants" are one plant with a single root bulb. What one
sprout reaps, both are affected. Beyond that, it's never gotten artificial
daylight, strangely enough doesn't need it.

"the same pot as the other" Very astute... though it's not. It's
one of three such pots in our home.

Finally, I don't know the meaning of "old tube light" in this context,
so I'll just take that as a bit of over-my-head wit and smile

Thanks for your input, Robert.

-popsicle

Yes it was wit but flawed. We have a similar plants too, it had 3 stems from
one root but after many years all stems had reached the ceiling and it had nowhere
left to grow so I sawed each stem off at different heights last November and
it looked dead until a few weeks ago when some new shoots appeared from near
the top of each stem. I'm told each stem should make 3 new stems from just
below the cut..... it looks like it will be a while before this information is
of any use for yours

Much of our time selling LEGO is spent in the parting out, sorting and order-pulling
processes, with the need to readily distinguish color and/or condition paramount
in each step.

Thought I'd share that which has made these tasks easier for us, as sellers.

We've been using an artificial daylight spectrum, for some time now. Specifically
balanced light spectrum or broader UV spectrum.

But only turned on and used in the area needed, i.e. sorting and order-pulling
where the ability to distinguish color and condition is more crucial. Longterm
exposure is not advisable as strong UV reacts with oxygen in the air, in a manner
that degrades ABS over extended periods of time. So not used in storage areas

Red arrow: strong UV light source ~ Blue arrow: normal lighting

and as you can see, the results are amazing. The larger of the 2 spikey plants
(now in the same pot as the other) was grown under artificial daylight whilst
the smaller one just had the old tube light.

  Dear BrickLink members,

In May of this year, the LEGO Group plans to release a new color, and this has
implications for the BrickLink catalog and marketplace. The new color being introduced
is 375 Transparent Black, and we believe it will eventually replace LEGO color
111 Transparent Brown.

As most of you know, the greater fan community has for many years referred to
LEGO color 111 Transparent Brown as "Trans-Black". Up until now, this
name has served us well because there was no official LEGO color known as Transparent
Black. Now that the LEGO Group is introducing a color officially known as Transparent
Black, it will cause alignment problems to have the same name being used for
two different colors.

We anticipate that the introduction of this color will cause some disruptions
over the short term, but we have created a plan of action to minimize those disruptions.

The first thing we will do is change the name of the current Trans-Black color
to "Trans-Brown (Old Trans-Black)". This change is scheduled to
take place at the beginning of April. This will ensure that the name change will
be very noticeable within the catalog, set inventories, BrickLink stores, order
summaries, etc., so that the majority of BrickLink users can adjust to the change.

Next, the new color will be added to the catalog as "Trans-Black (2023)"
to make it very obvious that this is a new color and should not be used for older
set inventories and older parts being listed for sale. This addition is expected
to happen at the beginning of May when set 75346 is released and inventoried:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1398124

After a 6-month transition, we will remove the text in parentheses from both
color names. The older color will then be "Trans-Brown", and the
newer color will be "Trans-Black". This will complete the transition.

Why not just keep the text in parentheses? Seemed like a reasonable plan going
forward. But why not just keep the text in parentheses instead of removing it
after 6 months.

+1. 6 months is a very short period of time especially for those who have Lego
as an occasional hobby, it is easy to overlook that when many of us visit the
site virtually every day. Apart from this I think the plan is very well thought
through.

Be carefull, whilst some rates such as 100g, 250g large letter are increasing
slightly some are actually going down more significantly e.g. 1st class small,
medium parcel.

Looks like RoyalMail are reacting to competition from low cost couriers at last.

I guess I will give a full refund, as I always do when there is a problem. Still,
it feels a bit wrong I should cover for the shipping costs, as the service was
delivered but for some reason the buyer didn't collect it. What would you
do?

Contact the buyer. Ask what they want you to do.

Sadly even I don't get to play with it at the moment. It is stored and needs
some minor recommissioning. One day, hopefully soon I will find the time it deserves.

Robert

it's very simple i have 45k inventory and no more so everything was online
have a feedback that went up already 20 orders no complaints only good but if
you can't add more lego you won't get any customers and selling too few
lego means no be able to buy new legos for your store

That is because there is a huge oversupply of Lego in general for sale on this
site. Many items have 10 years+ inventory at current sales rates. Adding more
and more is simply a trap and as you say that will not make you money, it will
just cost you. The reality is that selling on BL is a long term game, you have
to wait until someone wants an item (or hopefully a number of items) then they
will search for it and buy it. The only other way to stimulate demand for your
inventory is to reduce the price but that means actually reducing it not repeating
the same 20% off. Most buyers don't look for parts on the forum or by looking
for sales, they find them by searching and then comparing actual prices, shipping
costs, store reputation, etc - they will have already seem your items if they
are looking for them. If you are patient, sales will come but don't expect
to sell everything quickly, there is just too much inventory on BL for that to
happen. Of course you can sell quicker if you sell very cheap but then you will
not make any profit and will be working for nothing or even at a loss. I suspect
your expectations of this market place are a little high.

Absoletely No!

If used parts have damage such as bit marks, this must be noted in the item listing.

Sending wrong colour because item is used is OK??? You have to buy new to get
the correct part, huh?

Missing parts are OK if they are ordered as used.. what?

This is simply a case of poor standards below what is expected here. Maybe standards
are dropping amongst some sellers but the OP is absolutely right to call it out.
How can you buy old collectable parts as "new"? Very few are available
as new. Some sellers seem to list junk from kids toy boxes and try to pass them
off as AFOL collectable parts, these parts should either not be listed here at
all or, as per the TOS listed with the damage noted in the description.

As a seller, I do my best to put right parts in sets.
But in my opinion, it would be too difficult to manage stores inventory !

Nicolas

Ironically, as a seller, the new parts are the ones that are most likely to have
errors. When you're selling used, you are manually verifying parts so there's
a good chance to detect a part variation (and you take more care generally for
it, at least when you're aware the part has a variant). Of course if a seller
isn't well versed in variants, that has its own issues.

For new parts, there are times where it takes a while for sets to identify that
there's a variation. I think a recent example I can think of in the last
few years that I was affected by was the neck bracket parts:

Part No: 42446 Name: Minifigure Neck Bracket with Back Stud - Thin Back Wall
*
42446 Minifigure Neck Bracket with Back Stud - Thin Back Wall
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear {Black}

Part No: 28974 Name: Minifigure Neck Bracket with Back Stud - Thick Back Wall
*
28974 Minifigure Neck Bracket with Back Stud - Thick Back Wall
Parts: Minifigure, Body Wear {Black}

The set was inventoried with the 42446 when I had parted out (many were like
this). Later on, it was discovered that this part was actually a new variation,
and it wasn't caught for a while. So many sellers will have uploaded the
wrong variation in stock without even knowing. On top of that, some sets end
up having alternates identified (meaning they were produced with both variants).
But if you parted out before that new variation was known, and you never learned
about this variant either after the fact, you will have these parts listed as
one version (probably an older version), and not in the newer one. It was at
least a year that the variation existed before I even learned of it, and thankfully
it wasn't from a buyer showing concern for it, but just by luck that I saw
it come up in a future part-out.

That is a quite frequent issue. We often find new variants have been introduced
and we then go back and check our inventory relisting if needed. It is possible
that some could get sold (wrongly!) before catching them. You could argue that
as sellers we should identify new variants every time we add to inventory (and
we do try) but small differences are hard to spot if you don't know what
the detail change is (i.e. easy to spot once you know the detail change)

In an ideal world it would be great if we as sellers could get notified of a
new variant being introduced if we are showing inventory of the existing variant.
Not sure if that could be done easily/automatically but I'm certainly not
suggesting adding work to the catmins for this!
