121 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1977
Sets: Train: 4.5V

* Delete 4 Part 3185 Black Fence 1 x 4 x 2
* Delete 4 Part 3358 Black Fence Gate 1 x 3 x 2
* Delete 4 Part 3359 Black Fence Gate 1 x 3 x 2 Base

Comments from Submitter:
These parts are not part of the set. They are not in the building instructions and can't be seen anywhere on pictures. They simply don't exist.

The parts are shown on one side of the box and were added to the inventory many
years ago be a known and reliable contributer.
http://www.peeron.com/inv/sets/163-1?showpic=11770

Do you have any evidence that they were not included in the set?

Interesting! I did not see that. However, I think they are still not part of
the inventory!

I bought a set from the original owner (super good condition, stickers are still
untouched) and the only things missing are those that are not shown in the instructions.

What is the length of wire in your set?

In addition to those mentioned above I found that there are other bricks not
in the correct amount as they are NOT in the instructions and were also not included
in my set:

- 4 1x4 bricks blue (8 are currently in the ivnentory, only 4 are included for
build B)
- 1 1x2 plate blue (2 are currently in the ivnentory, only 1 is included for
build C step 4)
- 3 2x3 plate blue (4 are currently in the ivnentory, only 1 is included for
build C step 7)
- 5 2x4 plate light gray (there's none needed for any build and none included
but 5 in BL inventory)

Maybe you can build other models on the back of the set and see if these bricks
are used?

It would be a weird coincidence that those that are only shown on the outside
pictures are by accident the ones missing from my set.

This can be simply because these are exactly those bricks not used on the main
model.

It would be nice to know what you are actually testing...

They are testing if a public thread would boost sales of a rare unwanted catalog
from 1970, for no copy of this catalog was ever sold.

Are Buyers allowed to use Drop-Shipping to receive purchases?

BL doesn't forbid it, so it is OK as long as the addresses are correct and
the buyer is not selling via drop shipping on BL. It may be an issue on the site
where the drop shipper is selling but that is an issue for them and not BL.

Last time I checked, you need to have the items that are for sale 'in hand'.
Meaning, you have to have the actual items.
Drop-shipping is buying the items from another seller, and having it shipped
to your buyer. That doesn't comply with the 'in hand'-rule.
But when Lego bought BL, this rule might have gone down the .....

So I reckon, it is NOT ALLOWED. Any second thoughts are welcome.

What you mention deals with SELLING on BrickLink. The case I mention is about
a BUYER. Once an order is paid, a buyer can do whatever they want with their
purchase.

I have no idea WHY the buyer I mentioned had their buying privileges revoked.
I only suspect it was because they were directing their purchases to various
drop addresses and presumably having those drop recipients repack and reship
the Lego to the final destination. There may be some other completely different
circumstances that lead to buying privileges being revoked -- I have no way
of knowing.

Still, I would like to know the answer to my original question -- can BUYERS
use Drop-Shipping for BL purchases?

Yes,
I used it several times. What is wrong with that?

BL even allows buyer to change address at check out.

I noticed that in the inventory for set 6361-1 (Mobile Crane), the part x77a

I own this set but the string is missing, so I want to buy another one.

Does someone that owns the set can tell me the correct length to buy another
one and eventually correct the inventory?

Thanks

Gianluca

Most likely 75cm.

Yep, it seems that my first paypalclaim is coming.

Order of 482 euro's.

Order shipped 22th of june. Arrived at customs in the USA the 24th of june and
is stuck there since. I have allready asked the buyer of being patience because
there could be massive delays and asked PostNL at my side to do an investigation.
Asked the buyer to contact customs in his country.

Buyes said its almost a month, we will put in a paypapclaim. Buyer has 32 feedback.

I think this is not the way to do business, it is wrong from me to ask for a
little more patience?

What do you think??

WE paid EUR 85.80 for shipping which is enough for fast shipping, You use the
slow shipping method, You should be ashamed for this ,you have to take responsibility
for this issue.

The sellers shipped with PostNl, the national postal service of his country.
It is known to be very reliable.

  WE paid EUR 85.80

You paid Euro 85.80 because PostNl charged Euro 85.80. What part of this is the
seller's fault?

which is enough for fast shipping, You use the slow shipping method

Have you done a research on all services that PostNl provide? Based on your comment,
it looks like you know there is a cheaper option that is slow but for Euro 85.80,
PostNl ship with a super fast shipping method. Can you show me a link to the
various shipping methods of PostNl and their costs?

You also have tracking and checked that the parcel reached USA within (about)
2 days. Since then it sits in the customs of USA. You know that but still think
this has something to do with the shipping methods of PostNl!

You should be ashamed for this, you have to take responsibility for this issue.

I am not sure if you have plans to order from other sellers, but other sellers
read the forum and will decide to stoplist you or not. As a buyer, my experience
on Bricklink is that most sellers would do their best to provide the best service,
however they avoid unreasonable buyers at all costs.
I don't have any control on what other sellers decide to do but you can check
in your profile if you are stoplisted by other sellers or not.

Sets: Train: 4.5V

* Add 1 Minifig pln150 Plain Blue Torso with Blue Arms, Red Legs, Black Hat
* Change {9 to 7} Part Red 3005 Brick 1 x 1

Comments from Submitter:
The minifig can be seen on the back of the box.
Seven Red Bricks 1 x 1 can be seen on the following steps:
Two - step 4
One - step 6
Two - step 7
Two - step 10
Total=7

In Step 7 there are 4 (2 are at the very far right).

The minifigure with the red legs is simply a prototype that was replaced by the
one with a red torso in production.

The 3rd minifigure appears on the box art, and on the images of the set on the
instructions and the catalogs. The instructions only shows how to build one minifg
and consider that enough for the kid to find out how to build other minifig(s).
How do you know the third minifig was just a prototype?

Are there ever three minifigures shown together in one image? This was the very
first year of the minifigure so the standard of showing each minifigure built
in the instructions wasn't fully developed yet.

no but both of these requests are correct with evidence.
There are only 7 red 1x1 bricks.
I will write more about this later.

I believe it was not 'some' but 'all'. Aren't these baseplates

For now, please do not process any inventory change request 080-1 and 080-2.
More evidence is surfaced and it is better I first go through them and double

127-1 (Inv) Train Set
363 Parts, 1969
Sets: Train: 4.5V

* Add 8 Part wheel1a Red Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth

Comments from Submitter:
It's quite confussing. Train appears on box pictures with spoked wheels only. Nevertheless, following builing instructions it should be 2x2 stud center wheels for the passanger train carriage as well as for postal services train carriage. The locomotive should have spoked wheels (with rims) and the battery holder spoked wheels. This is also the devirence with set 116. All train cars in the 116-set have 2x2 stud center wheels. Therefore, these sets are not similar.

Thus, wheel1a should be added to the 127-set inventory list (8 pieces) and wheel2b should be changed from 16 to 4 pieces for this inventory list. To my opinion, the statement that sets 116 and 127 are similar (but with different numbers should be deleted.

See
https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=253906

The wheels

Part No: wheel1a Name: Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth
*
wheel1a Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth
Parts: Wheel
were not used/produced since 1969. See
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=wheel1a&in=S

The box art and the instructions were designed about the transition time from

Part No: wheel1a Name: Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth
*
wheel1a Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth
Parts: Wheel
to

Part No: wheel2b Name: Train Wheel Spoked for Wagon
*
wheel2b Train Wheel Spoked for Wagon
Parts: Wheel
so TLG did not bother to correct them just before the producing and releasing
them for sale.
For some trains released in that time, there were two versions of instructions.
For exmaple train

Set No: 119 Name: Super Train Set
*
119-1 (Inv) Super Train Set
394 Parts, 1968
Sets: Train: 4.5V
were in the market for many years (1968-1971?) and many parts were changed, specially
the black 4.5v motor so TLG bothered to change the instructions. See
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1252652

The funny thing is the image on the last page of the second version. The wheels
are first version (incorrectly)

Part No: wheel1a Name: Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth
*
wheel1a Train Wheel with 2 x 2 Stud Center, Traction Teeth

but the instructions shows

How would you list this set: New, Complete or Used?

I bought a set from another marketplace, it was complete with three bags, instructions,
stickers and box. Bag one was opened and the minidolls built (friends set) and
a few pieces put together, but mostly all apart in mint condition. Bags 2 and
3 are still sealed. Sticker sheet and instructions are in new condition. I verified
bag one is complete with instructions. So 3/4ths of the set is new and the other
I would normally classify as used.

used complete

We are very pleased to announce that we are adding member Maggiec to the Community
Expert Program. She is being appointed as a BrickLink Inventories Administrator

Congradz Maggie!

For most of you, Maggie needs no introduction. She is a long-time member of the
site, and has served as a Catalog Administrator for 14 years. She has worked
with several well-known catalog administrators including Firefly and Therobo,
and also Dan Jezek himself.

Most people will associate Maggie with the "catalog" side of the Catalog, but
she has also been active as a contributor on the "inventories" side over the
years as well. In fact, she logged the very first inventory change requests back
in June 2004:

Maggie has been a stabilizing force during some very critical times for the BrickLink

we feel she will be an excellent addition to our Catalog team.

Please join me in welcoming her!

I have a Canadian Samsonite set that is sealed in cellophane. However it also
has box seals at both ends of the set. European sets wrapped in cellophane do
not have seals. Is this normal for Samsonite sets or is this odd? I've
attached a picture. There clearly are seals under the cellophane. Any help
clarifying this would be much appreciated.

Set No: 6450 Name: Mobile Police Truck
*
6450-1 (Inv) Mobile Police Truck
76 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 1986
Sets: Town: Classic Town: Police

E!!! item number:393219386763

Based on the other photos, this is not produced by Samsonite of Canada because:
- no French text such as "Jeu de construction" is printed on the box,
- Instead of "77 pieces", there is " 77 Interlocking pieces" printed,
- "Stratford, Ont. Canada" is not printed on the side of the box,

The Canadian boxes never had seals on the sides of the box. Small boxes were
not sealed, and for the bigger boxes, only the inner tray were wrapped with cellophane.

Attached are photos of Canadian boxed set

Very strange reply, you first state that it's different in your place and
then you don't produce the evidence. Smells like bluf.

Anyway, if you're right, you would still need to respect the rights of your
US or EU customers. Therefore, the cancellation reason the OP suggested is still
a relevant and valid request, and stoplisting them for requesting it seems petty
to me.

I don't know if there are rules for international sales. But here, things
look to me simple:
- The buyer orders and then wants to cancel. Ok. BL allows this but the seller
can complete an NPD agianst the buyer.

By now, some sellers see the feedback of buyer and add him to their stoplist.
This is LEGAL and their RIGHT!

- The buyer orders again.... second NPB.

More seller spot the feedback record of buyer and he/she is added to more stoplists.

- The buyer orders again.... the third and last NPB.
Now BL revoke his buying priviledge forever. BL has RIGHT to refuse giving service
to this individual.

(Also, I would not want to discriminate buyers based on their country of residence
in terms of the level of service they're getting, but that is a personal
choice)

Items such as large documents, oversize envelopes and heavy cards. Emphasis on
oversized envelopes. ive dropped lettemail like this off at the post office directly
in the past they weighed it measured it and accepted it without a problem and
ive used that method hundreds of times and ive never had one returned from canada
post. For USA I just put 3 P stamps on if its under 100 Grams and ship it that
way and it arrive in less than 4 weeks usually.

Well you and your buyers have been lucky. You've saved yourselves a few cents
at the risk of having it returned or destroyed. Just because you haven't
had a problem yet doesn't mean that what you are doing is the best way of
doing it.

I have seen two big other Canadian stores ship that way but seems those sent
to Germany may get returned.

Not even sure it's ethical or strictly legal either.

What I don't understand is why the prices of CanadaPost depends on the content
(as far as the size is correct and there is no insurance)?!

The instructions shows the sold stud containers and this set was released in
1985, about 6-7 years before the hollow stud version of container was released.

Is it time to add sprues without any evidence? Hard to find any evidence for
certain small sets like this one.

Good morning, as the title says, problems with ordinary shipping without tracking.
I have already had some dislike with this method and I am considering removing
it, maybe I will lose sales, but surely I will also avoid taking a negative point
without any fault, because you do not know if the client has the package and
wants the money to be returned ( the old paypal trick) or that the postal agency
has lost the package.
What would you do or do about it?
Greetings and take good care of yourselves.

I would:
- Below a certain value (like 30 Euro), accept to ship without tracking
- For shipment without tracking, Add a small handling fee (for self-insurance)
like 1%
- Refund if the buyer claims he did not receive it.

In Canada, we can ship a mailer for only $2.05 without tracking but with tracking,
it costs $11. So far, none of my buyers claimed a non-delivery.
I have had three parcels lost, two of them had tracking and the tracking of one
parcel said "delivered"! (I trust that buyer and the parcel was delivered to
a wrong address)

Should I just cancel the order?
Here it is:

“I wanted to request a favor regarding this purchase. It is being sent to a suite
that manages and consolidates packages prior to international shipping.

Normally no action is necessary, however I've recently found out that my
country passed a stupid import rule that only 10 toys can be imported per person/year.
Given the price and the fact that they're all minifigs it should be a problem,
but if the customs agent considers each individual minifig as a separate "toy",
I will not be able to receive my minifigs.

Is it possible to include an invoice that instead of detailing each individual
minifig, just comes sealed as a "Minifigure Set" so that the whole "set" is counted
as ONE toy and not all the individual ones I've purchased.

You don't need to change the total value or any of that, just packaging them
as a single set would be a great help.

Thank you so much in advance.”

Any advice is appreciated, Pam

Ok brief history. I am still a green horn when it comes to Bricklink orders.
I have ordered three times and asked on two different occasions for a 2x2x2 3940a.
What I get delivered is a 3940b. Will the part work sure but they are not period
correct. I have done maybe a dozen or so orders on Bricklink and 3 have
been filled with errors. One has not shipped till 9 days after although the
shipping label has been created on the 8th day. Is anyone else have luck like
this? I am sorry for complaining but tired of oh we will just refund your part.
Too bad your out the shipping and thanks for buying my other items and p*** off.
Really looking for constructive advice. I have not left negative feedback but
damn I am not made of money. Was hoping I found a better place than Ebay.

Naturally you should expect to receive the part that you ordered, however this
is my advice as buyer on BL and as seller:
- There are ways too many variants on BL. Most sellers are not aware of the majority
of variations. I persoanlly have contributed a lot to the catalog and made many
changes. I know most variations of vintage parts but NOT all of them. Even when
I know variations, I forget or I do not have time to check variations of the
parts buyer have ordered from me, specially since most buyers do not
care
about variations. SOo when I order from other sellers, I write a note
like this:
Please double check that the parts I ordered are 3940a and they are not 3940b.
Please check and compare their photos. If they are not 3940a, please cancel the
order (or remove those parts from my order).
This is the message I sent to a seller on Bricklink:

ould you please tell me if your white windows 27c01

Part No: 27c01 Name: Window 1 x 2 x 1 with Trans-Clear Glass (27 / 27glass)
*
27c01 (Inv) Window 1 x 2 x 1 with Trans-Clear Glass (27 / 27glass)
Parts: Window

are with glass not fixed. Because some people confuse it with 27ac01 whose glass
is fixed.

Seller's answer: Sorry for late answer! You're welcome to ask - when
I had closer look at the 7 windows, only 4 were left, which are really 27c01.
One was 27b and two 27. Now I still learn about those windows .

**********

I should also note what I know about this part. The second variation

Part No: 3940b Name: Support 2 x 2 x 2 Stand with Complete Hole
*
3940b Support 2 x 2 x 2 Stand with Complete Hole

was first produced in 1984. However, depending on the location of the Lego manufacture
and the color, different sets produced or released between 1984-86 (or 1987..)
came with

Part No: 3940a Name: Support 2 x 2 x 2 Stand with Blind Hole

or

Part No: 3940b Name: Support 2 x 2 x 2 Stand with Complete Hole
*
3940b Support 2 x 2 x 2 Stand with Complete Hole
Parts: Support

For example, maybe TLG ran out of gray 3940a in 1984 so those sets coming with
3940a in 1984 came with 3940a (this includes those sets released in 1982 or 1983
or 1981....) who were still produced and in market in 1984 and later.
But maybe the black

All of this to say that DO NOT TRUST 100% of what you see on the Bricklink's
inventories. The situation is a mess and it is hard to impossible to expect perfect
accurecy on Bricklink.

Comments from Submitter:
The only plume is a single blue Plume Feather Triple which is contained in the first minifigure entry. There are no other plumes. https://letsbuilditagain.com/instructions/6059/

Those parts came on sprue.

Disappointed update: No news of either packages yet, one was probably shipped
on May 10th, the other on May 17th, I'm contemplating never ordering from
Canadian stores again despite the overall lower part prices thanks to the USD-CAD
conversion rate. It really isn't anything personal, I'm just too impatient
and not knowing the whereabouts of packages doesn't help setting my expectations.
I've hopefully checked my mailbox every day last week but I've been systematically
disappointed.

10 or 17th May?!
In average it takes 3 weeks.

A letter without tracking from USA to Canada including sticker sheets took once
about 2 months (before Pandemic) I wrote to seller if he shipped but did not
bug him for refund or anything. I just waited and it got delivered.

If you are so impatient, you can always ask sellers to ship with Express option
or Fedex or UPS? It will cost a lot but you get your order within 3-7 days once
it is shipped.

to reach me in the US since I have no way to know when they will arrive, I recall
that in the same order batch I already received a tracked package from Canada
and the shipping fee wasn't higher than for the untracked ones.

Is there a specific condition for Canadian Sellers to obtain a tracking number
for their packages to the US? Or is it a lesser known feature that they can offer
tracking to US Buyers at no/little added cost?

This question is just a thin-veiled beg for Canadian stores to offer tracking
to me personally since I have a hard time dealing with not knowing when packages
arrive. I have been spoiled by the USPS tracking service and I was elated to
find out it could also work with Canadian packages, except few Canadian sellers
offer this feature.

Maybe you have parts from

Set No: 182 Name: Train Set with Signal
*
182-1 (Inv) Train Set with Signal
354 Parts, 1975
Sets: Train: 4.5V

The train

Set No: 727 Name: 12V Locomotive

was never sold in Canada or USA.

Seems correct for the wheel holder (once I removed the wheels).

And we have the base and the motor from the same set.

Set No: 727 Name: 12V Locomotive
*
727-1 (Inv) 12V Locomotive
126 Parts, 1977

However, the inventory has this item

Part No: bb0053b Name: Electric, Train 12V Brick 2 x 4 with Power Pickups for Motor and Cross-cut Pins
*
bb0053b Electric, Train 12V Brick 2 x 4 with Power Pickups for Motor and Cross-cut Pins
Parts: Electric, Train
and the part we have is close. It has holes where the pins are supposed to be,
and the back looks like a tile. The image of the part in the inventory and
it's related parts all look to have the back of the pin showing through.
The ones we have look like it has a molded lid, but it doesn't pop out.

[p=bb0035b] seems to be almost correct.

I have the train 12v replacement motor item No x551. According to item info this
motor was not produced after 1977 but this one clearly says that it was manufactured
in 1983. How can that be? I dont recollect this motor being used in sets in the
80s. Should item info be updated or?

Very interesting.
I think they produced the service pack

for few years after the blue 12v era was over for those kids who still had them.

They did the same for gray era 12v. The production of 12v trains ended in 1990
and since 1991, the new era 9v began however TLG sold service packs up to 1994.

To check the prices, go here
https://www.canadapost-postescanada.ca/information/app/far/business/findARate?execution=e1s1

You can request the seller to ship with tracking so that they invoicce you the
more expensive option.

The only lost pacakge I sent to USA had tracking and the tracking said "delivered"
(I 100% trust the buyer)
If the value of your item is low, don't bother with tracking. Having tracking
does not mean your pacakge will less likely get lost. The package will follow
the same route, with or without tracking.
If the value of your package is high, it will most likely get tracking (and insurance).

Evidence will be uploaded soon.

Randy,

Evidence will never be uploaded

Shortly after this request,
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1159167

I made more effort: I shaked my sealed box for 10 minutes hoping the plastic
bags underneath sliding through the bigger plastic bags above them, but it did
not work. Then I held the box backward on the air and tried to hold the bigger
plastic bags (which were now under the smaller bags) and then, I shaked the box,
left and right, up and down, for few minutes. Finally the black hinges were revealed.

Unfortunately, shortly after, my tablet died and I lost all photos. I checked
my emails, google photo,... but I did not find them.

I also requested to remove the hinges with solid stud because I have had about
five copies of this set but none came with hinges with solid stud. So I think
we need some evidence to have them.

Cheers

This request can be accepted. I had a sealed one. After 30 min effort, I managed
to see the hinges with hollow studs.
There is absolutely no evidence that hinges with solid stud appeared in this
set, but I have had about 5-6 used copies with hollow-stud version, so I think
we can remove them.
Having worked with inventories of 7735 and 7745, both from 1985, I am sure the
hollow-stud hinges were produced since early 1985 and these two trains did never
come with hollow-stud versions.

We cannot check all copies produced of a set released in 1985 or later, but I
think, once we have evidence that a set came with solid-stud then once we can
check some used copies of sets from 1985 or later and see that they all came
with hollow-stud version, we can assume the solid-stud version did never appear
in any copy of that set.

I started over.

Nice catch Jonas! Actually in one of the photos, the trainrims were fallen (perished?)
from the motor. This one
https://www.flickr.com/photos/holgermatthes/with/25817607907

I am sure in all copies, 4 trainsrim were pre-assembled to the motor because
the production stopped at the end of 1980.

We decided to not add alternates for assembled/separate parts which are already
in the regular items section.
Instead, inventory notes will be added to handle such situations. So you may
delete the other requests.

So for now we have

Part No: bb0012v2ac01 Name: Train Wheel Middle for 12V Motor with Light Gray Train Rim (bb0012v2 / trainrim)
*
bb0012v2ac01 (Inv) Train Wheel Middle for 12V Motor with Light Gray Train Rim (bb0012v2 / trainrim)

Parts: Electric, Train {Red}
as regular parts as both assemblies can be seen in some of those pics of new
sets.

Do you have a photo which shows

Part No: bb0012v2 Name: Train Wheel, Middle Wheel for 12V Motor
*
bb0012v2 Train Wheel, Middle Wheel for 12V Motor
Parts: Wheel {Red}
without rim in this set? I have seen the loose rims (6 in one or two copies),
but no loose wheels so far.

Yes, My own new copy.

And could you please submit an inventory for
