LOS ANGELES—On Monday morning, Ynon Kreiz, CEO of Mattel, Inc., publicly announced
his intention to purchase BrickLink, Inc. from the LEGO Group.
Mattel is the owner of MEGA Brands, the manufacturer and distributor of MEGA
BLOKS construction toys. BrickLink is an online platform where users can buy
and sell LEGO®-brand products.
The announcement comes in the wake of the BrickLink administration's decision
to remove many older products from the platform, a decision which upset a small
minority of its clients.
After a series of negotiations and research from a neutral third-party market
valuation firm, the two sides have agreed on a final price tag of 2.19 USD.
The deal is expected to close by the end of July 2042, after BrickLink provides
the California Department of Tax and Fee Administration with some much-needed
paperwork in order to complete the deal.
In the meantime, Mattel plans to begin removing all LEGO®-brand products from
the platform and replacing them with their MEGA-brand equivalent, if available.
Kreiz has assured the public that all of BrickLink's 28 employees will be
retained for the forseeable future, including longtime administrator Russell
Callender.

Canada’s national animal is actually a beaver.
It played a pretty crucial role in the history of Canada, what with all the fur
trappers, traders, and battles over who would be the fur king of the region.
Then there are the poor beavers themselves, almost hunted to extinction! Well,
at least they became the national animal of Canada in 1975. They’re on the Canadian
nickel, too.

| Hello fellow brinklinkers,
I have quite a few of the Defense Archer 4801 polybags still sealed from way
back in the day, and I am looking to trade for the Tournament Knight from Series
20, identified as col20-4 and col361. My son and I are wanting to build a castle
MOC and are in need of 35 of these soldiers, new or used. Hoping for a fair
and comparable trade. I have never traded on Bricklink before, so this would
be a bit new for me.
Thanks,
Christopher

I am a RN who works in pediatric and adolescent mental health. It might have
already been mentioned before, but donating to a children's hospital or local
ASD society is always a nice thought.

| I have a huge collection of LEGOs. Literally hundreds of sets. Mostly Star
Wars, some Pirates, a few others. All are in zip lock bags with assembly instructions.
Some have the original boxes. Passed along by a deceased family member. They
are probably complete, but I can’t guarantee this. I want to sell them as a
whole group. I also want to avoid assembling each individually to make sure
they are complete. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi Red,
Welcome to Bricklink. And I am sorry to hear of the loss of your family member.
Like others have mentioned, eBay is good for larger lots (sometimes less money
though) while Bricklink is good for individualized sets for sale (although there
is a bit more work involved, and the need to upgrade to a seller's account).
Always feel free to ask questions in the forum, there are a lot of helpful members
here.
Take care,
Christopher
