Still, parts have "Size: 2 x 1 x 3 in studs"
This is the issue, when many units are used, they have to be explicitly written
to avoid such confusion, as history tells us, help page on BL are not enough.
I suggest to add a note on each single page of inventory for parts (done
by front "code" obviously, default design for parts for instance) about the units
used. Kind of studs from width/length, brick height for height.
|
Or that the size be formatted as “2 x 1 x 3 (studs x studs x bricks)” or, better,
“2 studs x 1 stud x 3 bricks.”
And these suggestions have been made almost every time a remark such as yours
was made but nothing changed

It is hard to believe that Lego makes
mistakes, most of us think that they are gods on Mt Olympus. They also contribute
to problems and often in the distant past put whatever they had into sets. The
old set 800 (I think that that is the number) called for a garage and they substituted
something totally different. They had ran out of the correct parts.

It's just a rough draft of an idea. Limitations, restriction and other refinements
of the idea, expected.
But hey, BL shot-callers, it speaks directly to upping the sales numbers!
|
Hmm, let’s see if I understand correctly.
Now, the buyer can search the stores that have the most items for their WLs.
They need to actualize their search from time to time to see if new sellers /
better matches appear.
And you’d want that search to be automatized so that the buyer receive a notification
for their whole WL?
If that’s it, when will that notification be sent? When the WL is X% fulfill(able)?
— If X is too high, many WLs will never have such a notification.
— If X is too low, that could make for a lot of notifications.
Or do you just want the search to be reversed, that a seller actively search
for WLs they can fulfill with their inventory?
Here again, percentage of fulfillment could be what makes it useful or spamful.
Anyway, I’m not sure it’s very different from the already existing WL notification
system except it would be for several parts at once, not one by one.
I rarely use that, indeed because that would cause too many notifications for
common parts and it doesn’t tell me if the seller has other parts, so adding
that multiple parts feature could be interesting. Though I’m not sure I would
opt in: it’s as easy to make a search from time to time.
A related question: Can’t sellers easily see on how many WLs their parts are
so that they can decide when to send notifications?
I mean, do you have to browse all your inventory part by part to have this info?

It is quite weird to be expecting white parts and seeing everything look tan.
You would never know these parts were ever white by looking at them since the
color is even on all surfaces of every part. Because the set was sealed, it could
not be UV damage due to sunlight as so many sites claim, so some other chemical
process occurs. There must be some sort of breakdown of some additive in the
ABS due to storage conditions of the set (maybe higher temperatures). I don't
know what it is, but I am less than happy with my purchase now.
|
You read the wrong sites
UVs don’t tan the plastic. UVs accelerate or make possible some chemical reactions
in the plastic.
Other things may accelerate the reactions. And the reactions also occur all
by themselves.
Some additives do react more easily or mode badly than others. That’s what happened
with the old bricks / old ABS.
And yes, UVs can also help “cure” the problem because it helps oxydation reactions,
which are also greatly helped by the presence of free oxygen, like when the parts
are soaking in peroxyde.
