The more detailed images look less like Lepin...they have the proper shape in
the hollow studs and the plastic is not as translucent or sketchy. It might actually
be a legit piece.

its generally agreed that no knockoff has lego logos. if it has the logo its
most likely real. unless there was a very recent development that I'm unaware
of?

Lepin was well known for having the Lego stamped studs...its been a few years
but there was a huge statement about this up on a certain auction site about
the counterfeits having the lego print on certain parts. The HP Castle and their
knock-off of the Executor were two prominent offenders. Often they were even
being listed in "Lego" box art.

Was thinking more about the doomed sets in the unreleased catagory, and went
for a second look.

I clicked on a item and noticed that the banner on the top said, "This Item
was Likely Not Released".

Key word for me "LIKELY".
How are we supposed to know for sure if a item was not released if no one can
put one up for sale?!?

So my request is that you allow sellers to sell the item, but only in the conditions
of sealed or new.

Some of these were released or more likely leaked. In fact I think MOST of
the sets in this category saw some level of distribution official or otherwise.
For example I have MSIB the Christmas set with Santa and Mrs. Clause that was
supposed to be a free give away a few years back. It as far as I know has no
official listing here or on lego.com. I brought this up in a forum post some
years ago and people got quite angry that I acquired an "illegal" set
and was told then that they would never allow a listing on BL since it was leaked
not released. Over the years I have found 3 such items that are in my collection:

1526 Space set in box opened
3872 Exo-Force in polybag MSIB
40489 Christmas Set MSIB (2X)

I also have set 6500 but it has no box...so I don't include it. The instructions
appear official but as of now I cannot confirm the authenticity entirely.

Additionally, many users have mentioned in the past seeing the unreleased cage
match for the original spider-man (1375) run as part of a TRU display back in
the day...although nobody I know has ever confirmed the set itself. The display
itself has come up for auction from time to time.

Lego and by extension BL seem to not want them listed in my experience. Probably
due to the ethical implications of them being leaked, smuggled or flat out stolen
from sources if a release was never made officially. Which I can understand.

I don't wanna burst your bubble but that is counterfeit. I have seen them
come up a lot in my unsorted lots. They are LEPIN used in their rip off of some
of the Harry Potter sets. If you check I doubt you will find part numbers on
the bottom but they will probably still have a logo but it will likely be rounded
off or smoother. They are likely still printing them from stolen molds that
were supposed to have been destroyed. Another give away is the color mixing of
Bley and Tan which was common of their HP knock offs. I find this a lot in lots
of bulk parts I buy on auctions. Another common version has Red and Dark-Red
marbling also usually with worn logos but no part numbers.

With the introduction of custom Lego minifigures allowing torso customization(https://www.lego.com/en-us/minifigure-factory),
I'm just curious about how these custom torsos fit into the catalog and its
policies about custom prints. Thanks!

I have not seen anything officially but I suspect they will have to do something
like they did for the EXOFORCE tiles with serial numbers. They listed them as
a single part even though they have unique numbers and you either have to show
your own photo or list the details in the description. I don't see another
way. As cool as these custom figs can be it will be ripe with abuse and counterfeits
I think. I already see on other sites many rare official parts being reproduced
poorly using it and then sold as the official versions. TONS of rare clone trooper
torsos popping up at auction already. Part of me thinks maybe they shouldn't
list them at all because the potential for fan made things that get into copywrite
areas could also be an issue.

I wasn't aware of this feature. This will make it easy if they want to proceed.
And it will keep everyone happy.

I was made an offer from a user that is currently not a seller. I am considering
it but want to make sure everything is done in a manner that is not going to
anger the admins or violate policy.

A simple transfer of my account would mean they do not have to upload the inventory
all over...so that seems easiest to me. Then I got to thinking maybe that isn't
allowed and maybe there is another way to go about a transfer.

I'm going through the TOS now and I may come across the relevant answer but
I figured someone has to have had a similar situation before and maybe they can
offer an answer that will save me time and keep me from violating any rules.

Go to the TOS and read paragraph no. 1
Eligibility:

may access the Site with your account credentials. You may not transfer or sell

Thanks, that seems to be the rule.

Diana,

Sorry for the slow reply...I'm travelling a lot at the moment.

The instructions match the Lego.com PDF and the color code is listed as 4177440.

The UPC code was 0673419102704.

Set No: 7678 Name: Droid Gunship

7678-1 (Inv) Droid Gunship
314 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2008
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars The Clone Wars

* Add 2 Part 41669 Trans-Black Bionicle 1 x 3 Tooth with Axle Hole (Alternate)

Comments from Submitter:
Just got a new sealed version of this set and the two parts in question are Trans-Black not Pearl Light Grey.

This part in Trans-Black used to share an ID with the Pearl Light Gray part.
There's another request with the same comment somewhere on the forum, and
I still think this part is the result of an error when this set was first inventoried.
After all, there must be a reason those two colors shared an ID. I don't
think there's any proof of this set having a Trans-Black 41669.

https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=321542

Can you please submit an image of the parts list in the instruction that show
this part.
What is the number and copyright year of the instruction?

Diana

I can provided an instruction image but I am submitting this as an alternate.
The set was sealed. It was official lego and the parts in the set were trans-black.
As an alt I don't think it is going to show as trans black in the book. That
said I will dig it out if you want.

  Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone out there knew whether you can get replacement battery
holders for the light up Bionicle weapons.

For example:-

55823c01 Bionicle Weapon Inika Light-up Laser Drill
55827c01 Bionicle Weapon Inika Light-up Laser Axe
55828c01 Bionicle Weapon Inika Light-up Energized Ice Sword

I have all the above but they were left with old batteries in. I can clean them
up but a replacement part would be nicer.

Thanks in advance

Guy

Sorry, last reply was useless after rereading this. The boxes are easy enough
to clean...and I'd think a small wire brush would be cheaper than buying
new parts just for the box. I've had to clean them a few times. Are you just
not wanting to mess with it or are you afraid you might damage the box?

The partner fee being taking in PayPal is the tax that Bricklink is collecting.

So they are only taking the tax at the transaction time but not their piece of
the pie. Ok that makes sense I think. Thanks.

like Ebay or BL? I was thinking of adding it but it isn't in the list of
options at the moment.

Anyone one else having issues with USPS in California? I have had to eat over
$600 of lost or stolen orders to various CA addresses in 2021. Not one of the
insurance claims have been honored. I have literally lost 2/3 of the inventory
sent there even with tracking numbers. It has been a very frustrating year in
that regard...didn't lose one other package even to foreign countries. Curious
if it was just me or if there is legitimately some issues with USPS in CA. Thanks.
