I just checked

Part No: 98133pb01 Name: Minifigure, Headgear Ninjago Wrap with Gold 3 Point Emblem Pattern
*
98133pb01 Minifigure, Headgear Ninjago Wrap with Gold 3 Point Emblem Pattern
Parts: Minifigure, Headgear
in White and Red and they both have the LEGO logo and number in
micro printing around the inside of the stud.

Thanks i Will send a refund to my customer

I will check at work tomorrow, but I am fairly sure that these were initially
produced without LEGO logo and number. I know that this is the case for other
Ninjago headgears. Also some of them were initially produced in another plastic
quality, and looks and feels differently.

You most likely have sent a genuine LEGO part.

Helge

For the 30177 wrap, LEGO changed at some point from a material called ABS/PA
to a material called HV-ABS. They also changed the mould at the same time (or
around the same time) and the earlier does not have logo or number. When you
compare the old and the new wraps, the old looks dull and "fake" compared
to the new ones. I think this change were done around 2012-13 if I recall correctly.
I am not sure if it is the same with the 98133, but I think that is very likely,
and I think I have more data on it at work. Send me a message if I forget to
check tomorrow.

Helge

I have checked the 98133 that I have, and all have the logo and number, though
in very small print. These were produced from 2012; I think that at least some
of wraps that I checked were from early productions, so I think that they probably
have had the logo and number all along. I have not found any other information
that indicate that these were ever produced without logo and number, but it is
of course possible.

I am not talking about the return. I am talking about the shipping I paid to
get the item, not to return it. I know the return shipping is not charged to
me. You are assuming a lot more than I do.

He is assuming that the seller would refund the whole amount including shipping,
or resend the package at his own cost. That is what I would have done.

You guys are talking about two different things. You INSTRUCT YOUR BUYERS not
to pay when they contact you and to have it sent back. I contacted my buyer and
he did no such thing. So I had to choose between paying VAT twice or have it
sent back, and get a refund minus shipping cost. Because the seller says they
did everything right.

My input was meant to describe how I think the situation should have been handled
from the sellers side in the first place. So I agree with you; in my opinion
your seller has not handled this correctly.

I told the seller I had to pay again before I paid it. He offered me nothing
other than showing me he had a confirmation that the IOSS was collected correctly
on the mechanism. SO why would he offer me all that when he thinks he did it
all correctly.

I can only say how we do it, even if we know that we had done everything correctly.

Paying twice, if you're aware of, is part of your responsibility, I'm
really sorry.

Why would the seller give me the postage back and take a loss if he says that
he put it in the system correctly? The seller would be taking a loss on a full
refund so I wouldn't get my money back. Either way I would be out of money,
not
the seller. I would either have my Lego and pay VAT twice, or have nothing and
paid shipping fees. Which one do you think is the least bad option for me?
Non of this is my fault. No matter how much you say it is.

When a buyer says that he has been asked to pay VAT again, we instruct him to
not accept the package and not pay the VAT. When we get the package in return
we resend at our cost, and it usually works fine the second time. We lose on
the shipping cost, but that is usually a lot less that the VAT and fee charged,
and we just see that as a cost of doing business. Anyway this happens so rare
that the cost is of little significance to us. The buyers only loss is the extra
time it takes. We do not refund the VAT and fee if the buyer does not follow
our advise.

Thanks, seller says they never had an issue sending to the EU. He showed me this

That has no real value; the IOSS number must be filled in when registering the
package. If that is not done, it does not help to attach the receipt.

BUT: I have had a few cases where we have filled in the IOSS number correctly,
and could prove that we had done so, and still the buyer were charged VAT again.

XP was a failure but some of the decisions from his time have become very popular.
The original AFOL Designer Program seems to be one of the reasons LEGO wanted
bricklink and has gone from strength to strength, MOC shop ideas in Studio. Plus
he probably saved bricklink from itself, it was a headless organisation before
he bought it.

Let's not fool anyone, BrickLink was purchased for the sales dataset. I don't
disagree that those programs are outstanding, I was specific to XP and all the
time and effort that went it.

They just wanted control.

If LEGO could find a way to eliminate the second hand market, they would.

The irony is that most of the reason the secondary markets exist is because LEGO
can't properly manage its' supply chains. (and refuses to print on demand,
which should be possible with 21st century technology)

The reality is other sites would pop up if they shuttered BL, so they settled
on having control over it.

This sums it up nicely I think. My first thought when heard that LEGO was taking
over was "They are going to shut it down", the second was "No, they
just want to control" it. My impression after dealing with them for 20+ years,
is that they more and more see retailers as a necessary evil, that they would
do away with if they just found a way. I really hope I am wrong.

I get why your customers would not be interested in the variants. I don't
know if you sold used parts in the past, but currently your store is 99.99% new
items. The merge will have zero impact on your store. But there are stores more
focused on the buyers who are looking for the vintage pieces to complete the
set according to the original state. A shinny new brick is probably not what
they are looking for.

No, the merge will have positive impact on my store.

Yes, of course I understand the all do not agree with this, but I can only speak
from my experience, and what I hear from my buyers.

We may cancel a few of these variant merges, but I do believe most of them will
go through. And I am 100% behind any effort to give us better tools to handle
variants and the different audiences that we have. But these particular variants
I don't imagine will ever be handled by a separate system. They are just
too obscure. Most people wouldn't even know they exist without the BrickLink
entries.

I am fully behind this merge plan; thank you for the good work. I totally agree
that this will be good for the great majority of Bricklinks users, while a small
loud minority may not like it.

I'm curious to see how small this loud minority is. A poll about this upcoming
change would give a lot of insight.

The problem is how to make a poll that give a fair result. The majority of Bricklink
users do not read the forum. In my personal dealings with buyers and builders,
I have met a lot of people who are frustrated with too many part variants in
the BL catalogue, but I cannot recall I have ever met anyone in person that has
advocated for more variants. We have many local* buyers who pick up their BL
order in person in our shop, many of those express frustration about BL being
too complicated, and all the part variants are something that comes up often.
I do not think that those kind of buyers are even aware of there being a discussion
forum on Bricklink, and if they do, will not bother to neither read nor take
part in this discussion. And I do not think many of those would bother to answer
a poll if they were asked.

Anyway I think that this is something that Bricklink admins must decide. Briclink
is not a democracy after all. I have in the past been quite negative about certain
things that Bricklink has done, but in this case I agree completely. So if I
complain when I disagree, I think that I also should say it when I agree.

Why do you need to write software to handle the transition?

Sorry, since the message was directed to Russell and I mentioned it before I
omitted it here - our sync system works based on item IDs. If they change randomly,
it will break our sync a little bit many times, at random moments, and it will
be hard to repair without understanding clearly what changed into what.

Thanks, I thought it was something like that. Luckily we are not as advanced
as you

The change was scheduled for 1 Feb. We sent out a newsletter to our customers
about the date. Then it was 15 Feb. That's ok, at least more time to prepare.
I've spent a full day writing software to handle the transition form old
to new item IDs. But now it turns out that the changes are going to be all over
the place between basically today and MAY. And even THAT is not
sure...?

Just curious and asking because I am afraid that I have missed something:

Why do you need to write software to handle the transition?

Agree totally. I have been selling LEGO for 25 years, and has yet to see any

Thank you for admitting to not knowing where all your buyers stand on this matter
and to having no basis for your claims. I think this discussion can be laid to
rest now. People want these variants this thread speaks for itself.

I have never claimed that I know ALL my buyers wants. You claiming that I have
done so is just a desperate attempt of derailing the discussion. Off course I
have a basis for my claims: 24 years and 32500+ transaction. I know what I am
talking about.

Feel free to say your opinion; do pretend that they are undeniable facts.

NOW I will not answer any more of this as none of you clearly have no interest
in a civil discussion.

Off course it is my opinion, I thought I made that quite clear. Unlike you, I
am not trying to present my opinion as a fact.

Further more I did not ask you to repeat what you said but to answer the questions
I provided in reply 765. No you do not have to answer them now, obviously because
this is slowly devolving into a back and forth where you refuse to read what
is being sent your way.

Why would I have any interest in answering your rather meaningless questions
in detail? My opinion is still that I think this is a change that is for the
good for both sellers and buyers. That should really work well as an answer to
all your questions.

Accusing me of refusing to read what is being sent my way, is just what it is;
a pointless accusation meant to derail the discussion.
