way!)
Some of the list items also have a ranking amongst themselves. For example the
missing item might be structural - can't build set without it - or minor
like an accessory.
Current approach:
Use text in remarks and wanted list name to assist with priority
Ideal:
A simple low/med/high or 1 (high) to 5 (low) priority rank flag on the wanted
list and wanted list items
Ability to set the default value
Ability to use this flag in any search that involves the wanted list - e.g. by

Hello,
that would be cool, but i think it would be too complex to program and it might
confuse some users

| Hi all,
I've had this idea some time ago and didn't see a reason why it shouldn't be
possible: Why isn't Bricklink opening an 2nd PayPal Account in Europe, to let
the sellers pay directly in Euro and to save losses
a) due to the bad paypal conversion rate and
b) due to higher paypal taxes for international transactions
As a lot of sales is done in Euro it would be a very good opportunity to let
the european sellers pay their fees in Euro.
Of course I'm aware of the fact that BrickLink needs his money in USD, but i
suppose it would me more rentable to let the sellers pay in Euro and to exchange
the money by the bank exchange rates.
As a seller I got to handle this problem by letting people pay in USD, so I can
use that money for BrickLink fee payments. Nevertheless I suppose that other
sellers from EU accepting just Euro have to pay the bad conversion rate paypal
gives them (if not paying directly by credit card in USD, of course). But in
fact this suggestion should be of use especially for BrickLink itself.
I'd like to know what you are thinking about this.
Best regards
Andrei
|
Hi Andrei,
the idea should be considered. The investment mother company of BrickLink has
operations in Belgium so they could then also offer to pay BL fees for EU members
in Euro with SEPA.
This saves EU members to convert into USD and saves 5 % paypal Fee.

Stefan

| After a quick search on the forum, I didn't find any answer. Then....
Since I use BL, I finally get what seams to be my fist order lost. I had a nice
contact with the seller. And it seam we had no way to have answer from the PO
(simple shipment, no tracking, no insurance).
Hence, I can't say the order is received or completed, since I got nothing.
And as it was shipped 6 week ago, I have no more hope to finally get it. Then
I still have on "MyBrickLink" page a message telling me about this order that
I should change status.
Then, could it be possible to have a "lost package" status to "close" the order,
or a "non received order" on order problem page ?
Not for complaining any way : I take the responsibility for not having asked
for insurance, and the order value is far less than what I save with not asking
for it; But just to note that this things could happen (and maybe getting some
statistic on that) and are not listed as a possible conclusion of the deal.

seams to be implemented now... The above forum post is more than 6 months old.
the suggestions could have been marked as implemented.

voted no. BrickLink should not play with Fun-Currencies. Despite Bitcoins have
a interesting idea the tremendous value fluction shows its non-acceptability
as a BL currency.
Bitcoins would lead to massive deflation if the value of money goes up even faster
if it cannot be created as easily anymore, then you have a set number of money
and goods quantity rises then you have money getting worthfullier every day.
Finally noone likes to spend money that day but wait till the other day. The
effect is deflation. That is as dangerous as the other problem - inflation. Bitcoin
is fun experient BrickLink should not take part in it.

| Hi
actually the way VAT has been set up is good.
Stores liable to VAT can change store currency to their home currency and prices
shown to people that must pay VAT include VAT and prices shown to buyer's
that need not to pay VAT are also displayed accordingly.
This suggestion already exists.

thank you for your replies.
Actually this suggestion should now be marked as already exists. We should come
back to the point where something is done with the suggestions. But I do see
some development on BrickLink right now.

the discussion went into a different way.
Have you been banned from the seller accounts in the USA ( ITD )or from Shop

Why does Lego ban people from buying from them at retail prices?

| Hello members,
normally all unpaid and processing orders gets updated automatically.
Often customers want to have several orders due to customs thresholds they want
to stay below.
There should be a choice of whether you want to update your old order or not
with the new submission. Then more orders can be created without the seller having
to set it paid or packed before the customer can submit a new order.
This would really help a lot and makes sence.
kind regards,
Stefan

| Hello,
defintely right now orders needed to be canceled. If you a ton of euros then
I would just credit you off the fee from paypal.
If you were to order more than 500 Euro you could still easily use a bank transfer
and even save the 5 % paypal fee.

Nope, it actually went wrong until some point in January:
http://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=504128
| It seems to be a bug in the system with 2-digit months.
|
I discussed this with Admin and got the idea that the start date 10-10-01 (01-Oct-2010)
and the (possible) end date 11-01-10 (10-Jan-2011) might be a reason for a database
error. It's just an idea, though.
| So far nothing was done to resolve the bug.
|
At least Eric had a look into it, don't know if you consider this to be "doing"
something. The reason for this error is probably a code bug way older than 10-10-01
that only showed up at that date - at least Eric KNOWS that this no immediate
effect of a system change at that date.

To Admin, Eric, or to whom it may concern. Is there any news/progress on this
currency selection bug as the problem still exists several months down the road?
Thanks in advance

It would be good to see it repaired. right now everything is great but a month
with two digit will come...

| Hello,
this is a good idea.
If it gets implemented, it is absolutely necessary to allow all orders and charge
the orders not meeting the limit. As mentioned above it makes sence. It would
translate the store policy into a BL system.
Sellers should be able to charge for not meeting the lot limit within the function.
There are costs associated with running a store and orders with a lot parts for
20 cents each causing more labor cost than the part must be figured.
kind regards,
stefan
