WTF BRICKLINK???!!! I just got an email with 11 figs that they just deleted
from my inventory, and some were listed as used and they were full figs with
things like "some yellowing in torso."! Someone want to tell me what is going
on please??? Did this happen just because I posted this question today?

I will not list figs as parts because FIG PARTS RARELY SELL!!!

WE NEED TO DEFINE MINIFIGS AS COMPLETE, OR INCOMPLETE LIKE SETS!

Is the community of people who helped build Bricklink, like myself, now pushed
aside and not heard in order to make OUR site better? Or is it now fully TLG
property and we have no say?

So I find that each time I listed a minifig that was brand new, but missing a
part like an accessory that was in the picture of the fig, like a shoulder piece
or cape, BL in the next day or so would remove it. We can't list figs as
new but incomplete or complete because BL never was set up like that. So BL
deleted my fig post saying it was against the rules but of course no explanation.
Do we really have to list a brand new fig as used, or as parts when it's
missing something like a cape or skirt???

When it gets deleted so quickly, does that mean that another member reported
it quickly to admins to get it removed? Someone said it's the new BL algorithm
that did it automatically, but that can't be true because I see other sellers
figs that are missing parts but still listed as new. So am I being singled out
by someone following me and reporting anything I do just to be a jerk?

Thanks in advance.
James

Please make a way for us to charge shipping based on zip code during automatic
checkout.

As I am updating my USPS postage for the price increase on Sunday, I am once
again reminded that we still don't have a way to charge proper shipping by
zones for both First Class and Priority Mail. On one of my shipping methods,
I charge 155% more than the actual price to local customers because I have to
charge the same to them as to people across the country. I normally give partial
refunds to people that are overcharged, but it ends up being less than the actual
difference because of the non-refunded PayPal fees.

There has got to be a way to make it interface directly with PayPal similarly
to the new sales tax changes. We can now even give refunds directly from BrickLink.
Is there no way to harness PayPal's shipping calculations?

BTW, I'm loving the automatic sales tax because it's way more accurate
that what I was doing before, undercharging and paying the difference. My sales
tax filing is also only going to take me 10 minutes next quarter!

The lack of a good automatic zip code based shipping calculation tool is why
I still calculate by hand. Although, I have created a database of zip codes,
zones, and shipping rate tables that allow me to input a zip code and spit out
a price based on First Class Domestic. The rates are read from a table I can
then paste into the new rate data whenever USPS makes an update.

In one of Russell's posts of the new tax deal, it is stated that in the US,
if you do not have an onsite payment method established, you cannot make sales
to those States where tax is to be collected. Currently, this is the two States
mentioned, but could become all 50. This was not specifically stated for VAT
issues, however, it was implied, no onsite payments, no sales. Later, there was
talk about offsite payment methods and charges for taxes being or becoming part
of a Seller's fees. I'll dig through and post a link to the information.

Historically:

It has been said online methods will be the only methods for sales tax colletion.

It has also been said VAT will be added to fees in EU countries (as is the law
because BL is present in EU now).
This is a second, separate part of the announcement.  And the fees (VAT included
or not) need to be paid through PayPal or Stripe.
Two separate issues but both with a constraint on payment.

A third issue came adding to the confusion: in July 2021, BL will have to collect
VAT for inter-country sales when the buyer’s in EU.
As this is the same thing as what is happening for the sales taxes for CA and
CT, the same mechanism and the same constraint on payment methods will apply.

Therefore ensued a multi-pronged discussion about allowing for more payment methods,
especially offline ones:
1. “Wa-wa, we can’t sell to US buyers anymore
2. “Wa-wa, we won’t be able to sell to EU buyers anymore

to which BL/Russell’s answer was (paraphrased and accross multiple messages):
“Online methods are what we require now, we are looking into adding other payment
methods, including offsite ones.”

While they are looking into things, they will implement the policy of Sellers
being unable to sell to those areas where tax must be collected unless an onsite
payment method is adopted. I, for one, appreciate the heads up, so that I will
have time to formulate my future business decisions based upon what will actually
be implemented.

Stopping using PayPal would cripple you. it's the standard for online transactions.

I just stopped using Stripe because while it provides all the sales info you
could need, it doesn't integrate with anything outside of USA. It's pointless
in the UK.
Payouts are SLOW and you can't export shipping data to print labels with.
This means you have to transfer addresses manually to something like Royal Mail
Click & Drop, which is it's own disaster of a website. Paypal is the best,
and pretty much only option.

Also, i'm not sure the admins have any spare time to deal with any more of
your complaints /S

Since we've been told that any store NOT using an onsite payment method will
be unable sell in the near future, and we wish to continue to do so, we've
been forced to enable them.

Not sure where you got that idea from. The onsite payment thing, at the moment,
is only for US sales tax purposes (Ca and Co, initially). Admins have said they
are still looking at other payment methods including offsite. This thread was
started to encourage them to give us some data on currently used payment methods
as a 'usage guide' and Russell has said he is going to ask.
