You can also go on your order page and click on the 4th icon right of your order
number, "Items in Order in Wanted List" and no need to combine your wanted
lists, but you will need to manually adjust the quantities.

You can choose the language at the bottom of this page:
https://www.bricklink.com/catalogTree.asp?itemType=B

Then you can use the category summary to find all magazines, books, etc.

Example: https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?pg=1&langID=17&sortBy=N&sortAsc=A&catType=B&v=3

+1 Leave it permanently.

I have no time or wish to learn how to buy using only the new want list. I
definitely do not have the time to tweak my wanted list until it starts behaving
like the classic one.

I only buy using the classic "By Shop".

Does it "hurt you" to keep the classic ?

Thank you.

In a way I kind of agree with you, but I know Brickstore is not going to be updated
and is so useful to so many that I just ask for someone from BL2.0 to try to
keep the two compatible.

Keep the "output" of Bricklink still available as an "Input" for Brickstore.
Specially if it is "easy" rather than:
1) Ignoring the existence of Brickstore
or
2) Being unaware of Brickstore.

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Olivier

I think most would say "it's up to brickstore to be compatible with bricklink,
not the reverse"

You can't design your system around someone else's interface so your
users can continue to use a 3rd party system.

I am not sure these have all been covered completely before or it may have
been in several different items/issues, but we would like to see the following
improvements in the next release of Bricklink.

1. Improve the colour samples to include larger swatches, Lego Colour Name; Pantone;
CMYK, RGB. It might even help to include the Peeron Colour name. Colours are
very important to lots of people and they also have a direct bearing on pricing
(unlike Lego)
2. Improve the images in the catalogue both small and large. Remove sketches
and where there are subtle differences between parts e.g. ....a and ....b make
it clear what those are (in photos of course).
3. Major issue with tire and wheel identifications. The relationship idea helps
somewhat as does the visual wheel thing, but neither are complete and they are
not kept up to date. Where Lego has a part number fine, but many do not or it
is impossible to read. Considering Lego are the world's largest tire manufacturer
we should do better here.
4. Our age old - please allow multiple users to have access to the stores. The
larger the store, the more likely there is more than one person dealing with
it and all of the individuals need to be able to get in with different permissions,
as required. We are based in two locations and share access to the store at both.
That is not ideal, as you can imagine, and of course with only one login everyone
can do everything.

There are many. many more itmes to be dealt with but the suggestion forum does
not seem to be the best place to get things moving.

I voted yes and agree with everything you stated.
I do have to say that #4; to give different people different permissions is a
top one on your list. I currently only have my wife and I but I have thought
about this in the future that I would not want everyone and their brother having
access to everything in bricklink. For example I would not want everyone to be
able to add/delete items but only have that person able to view orders to prepare
and ship. I was once told a wise saying by a business man "Everyone's business
is no ones business".

Hi everybody,

This has been bugging me ever since I discoverer (& how to use) my wanted list(s).

It would be really really great if when looking at the cart, if I could have
the info from my wanted list(s), specially the remarks (I put all info there)
but I guess it would also be useful to many to have max price & min qty. It would
also be useful to have this info displayed when looking at a store by colour
or category.

Thank you for reading,

Olivier

P.S. Forget all my other request/suggestion, I think this is my most important
so far !

Hi Gerald,

I am just a buyer, and I am not sure I understand all the stuff you wrote, but
definitely agree that all the costs before shipping should be added up front
before I click submit order (even the Paypal fees, if relevant when I click Paypal).
Actually if it was up to me, there would not be any. Just put it in your prices.
I usually choose a store based on :

- Who has the most unique parts from my wanted lists (price does not really mater
here - but I do compare the top 5)

or

- One part that I really, really want, I chose the cheapest store that has my
quantity.
In this case if there are extra costs it is not fair, however I still read the
top 5 terms before wasting too much time on the shopping.

I guess ranting is over.

Best regards,

Olivier

I guess because I work in project management on processes, I get that it's
handy, but the higher up you go on the food chain, the more small requests that
may benefit a small % of the population you get because they don't do the
work.

If Bricklink had a list of ideas for BL 2.0 and said "we have 10,000 working
hours budgeted for this project"
Here's a list of the ideas that we have that must be done
Here's a list of things that the users have that must be done
here's a list of the things that we have that we would like to do
here's a list of the things that the users have that they would like done.

Things like this, not to dismiss the idea, is in bucket #4.
When I look at my activity and look at my voting record, 70% of the things I've
said no to, simply because they are easy enough for people to do without Bricklink
creating a button for it.

this one..
http://www.bricklink.com/pref_favorite.asp?v=M

or,

  Orders placed

this is two clicks.. Orders and placed, rather than one click on a favourite
menu (or two clicks if you have to click to get onto a favourite menu)

  - My Wanted Lists

Again, two clicks, wanted list, then 'my wanted list' or http://www.bricklink.com/wantedView.asp

  - My Wanted Lists by shop

same, two clicks

  - My Messages

one click if you have a new message, two clicks if you don't.

  - Forum Suggestions

one click for the general forum, one click, one drop down and another click for
specifically suggestions.

Now, if you said you wanted to click away at a button that would take wanted
list by shop and figure out the price of all the unique objects on your wanted
list, in each shop by the cost of the parts and volumes, something that would
take substantial time to do manually, I'd give that a thumbs up.

Do we need it.. Need, no,
Would it save a lot of time for those that use it, absolutely.
Would a high % of users that knew about it use it? yes, and not only buyers,
but maybe sellers. It could be used for pricing strategies

if I'm not getting a lot of orders, maybe I run this wanted large generic
wanted list for stores in Canada (for me) and see where on the price scale overall
am I?

I've even been toying with a measure like "likelihood to sell", seeing if
I can come up with a formula based on available pieces, spread of current pricing,
spread of sold items.

Things that are hard to do without a lot of work.

No offense to the OP, going from two clicks to one is the very definition of
nice to have..

Have the possibility to configure a faforite tab :

I acces the most
- Orders placed
- My Wanted Lists
- My Wanted Lists by shop
- My Messages
- Forum Suggestions

It would be nice to have a way to set up your favorites as your homepage when
you loggin to Bricklink and also accessible when visiting a store for quick references.

Maybe even Favorite Tab1 & Tab2.

If not possible at least be able to set up which "sub page" open when clicking
on the different tabs,

Examples:
- When I click on orders, I want to go directly to My orders placed.
- When I click on Wanted, I go to My Wanted List.
- My Bricklink, I go to My Messages.
- ...

Thank you for reading and supporting.

Best regads,

Browser tabs can do this quite easily.

I remember you used to be able to put buttons in Google Chrome on the start page
to specific sites. But ever since the new version, they totally screwed it up,
and you can't arrange them the way you want anymore.

As for the OP's idea, I think it would be very handy.

I agree with you this would be nice to have. But I still would like to have it
if I/we can, otherwise I wouldn't have suggested it. What is OP, I guess
I am but what does it stand for ? Thanks

Browser tabs can do this quite easily.

Do you mean create browser favorits for each "favorite" page?
Yes that could work for now, don't why I did not think of that.

However, I need to do that on several computers & the ipad, than when I change
something, I nned to redo the change everywhere. I still would like the idea
implemented if possible.

Just a suggestion for BL 2.0

Thanks for reading,

I guess my point about dyslexia flew right by you. It's ok if you don't understand,

See above point

  That's why there's a Preview feature.
You can review your post- looking just as it will when you post it.
View it as long as you want, revise it as many times as you want.
When you are satisfied with your own level of perfection or revision, click Post.

That's the same thing you would do with an Edit feature.
Exactly the same at your end. All that's different is whether other people see
your changes.

See above point.

See brother I do all that, 4 times or more, and I still mess up every 4th post
or so. I did not come into this suggestion blind and considered in basic form
all the points you have made before I posted the suggestion.

So there may be few people like me and I am in the minority, I still would like
this for simple honest reasons.

The entire philosophy behind Bricklink was to provide an opportunity for the
Lego people around the world to acquire what they need in the simplest fashion
possible. The next release needs to go much further in making this process simpler
and easier, not only for the buyer but also the sellers and the 'Bricklink
Experts' that are out there.

Anybody else got any thoughts on this and other features/requirements for the
next release?

It would be nice to have a function or setting in the search screen to allow
for the searching of stores both opened, closed or both (default search would
be for open store only unless selected otherwise...?) As a buyer I find the need
of a misb set not found in the search of opened stores only or bulk parts say
1000's of 1 element type that may not be seen in all of the opened store
but this item or quantity maybe in a closed store and most of the time is. From
selecting this type search you can then make contact with the seller and place
an order....? I can only see this as possibly increasing orders placed and making
Bricklink more competitive to buyers out there...

hmmm, interesting but I can see a few problems.

1. I close my store because I either do not want to or cannot fulfil orders (e.g.
I'm ill, on vacation) so do not want such enquiries in that situation.

2. some members use a closed store just for their own stuff and have no intention
of currently selling it (rightly or wrongly).

3. some closed stores would not want you to see their current prices (or what
they have).. been closed a while, would want to review before opening, etc

I guess that would need some 2nd level of store closure for sellers to set...
I'm closed but I welcome enquiries. I'm not convinced this is good though,
you either want to sell and open or you don't.

Robert

worse still, seller uses it to manipulate the market or invite offers for things
he does not have on hand which is forbidden here.

List new set for attractive price in closed store... get enquiry... I'm closed,
opening in 2 weeks, place order and I send it then (seller goes to buy item).

Not allowed here for good reason.

Robert

right.. the idea didnt look as bad until you brought this one up.

Probably the single most important reason for this option not being here right
now, and not being here in the futureof currently selling it

What about : I want to buy rare part "X" which only a few store have at price
too high for me but I know about closed stores that may or not open one day which
have it for cheaper, I am patient and I can wait for a better price to come around,
especially if I know it could. Stores that do not want to be bothered when closed
could be able to set the "contact store" on a do not disturb mode.

into word, then go to the trouble of finding all the items again. Thoughts?

I like this old suggestion.
I have an old computer, I sometimes start an order, get interupted by the kids,
the wife or whatever, when I come back the computer has somehow lost it's
internet connection - I don't know why and I don't know how to fix it
except with a full reformat and re-install. The only way to regain internet access
is to restart the computer. Of course, I loose my cart and even the store I was
on. I now make a print screen of the cart page before I leave the computer but
keeping the cart a bit longer.

I see your point,

I collect Lego Star Wars and I have downloded all of the SW manuals from Lego.
If I find one that I don't have on paper on Bricklink at a decent price,
I will buy it to add to my collection.

Of course, I will not buy a Lego instrucion book for something that I do not
need just to look for inspiration, not even for a few cents as it would cost
too much to ship. If I want to look at a manual, there are places online to look
for them. If a collector wants to buy it, he will if it is at a reasonable price.

So it will not change much for the sales of instruction books.

If there is a really rare and expansive one that is not available anywhere else
than do not scan it and do not share it.

Thank you for reading.

Most of the new ones can be downloaded from Lego but a direct link would be easier.

It would probably require the authorization from Lego due to copyrights.

I was also thinking about the possibility to have scanned copy of the older (not

Just some thoughts that have been floating around my head for some time.

Yea, I couldn't support that one because it would harm sales of instructions.
Bricklink is an information site as well as a sales site but it is an information
site focussing on sales and buying so doing something that would actually remove
sales would be bad for all the sellers and in turn Bricklink. I can see where
buyers would love it but in reality there is another site that does what you
are asking that I am not sure if I can mention here due to rules.

Cool thank you for the info. But it would still be helpfull to have the option
when browsing, I only search when I know what I am looking for. But sometime
I am just looking for inspiration.

I don't know what I want but I know what I wish was hidden from view.
