Sorry forum user fosterbengoshi has exceeded his maximum allotted posts for the
day.

But don't fret, just know he would post something about you being wrong and
him being right and being a huge asset to the forum.

Please note forum user fosterbengoshi is the reigning interwebz champ. He doesn't
even need to post to prove his point. YOU ARE WRONG AND HE IS RIGHT!

Hopefully this user is now practicing law in a real world application rather
then being the number one leading law advice console on a LEGO forum.

I did a google search a long time ago and I think it said his license is no longer
active. Is this accurate, Thor ?

"FWIW, I still don't see how anyone who takes the time to list over 2400

this thread. It would not surprise me if the warm welcome he received from the

As usual, spot on intuition Thor ! Your posts were SO helpful when we all knew
it was a scam !

So, honest question: Why are you even here nowadays? If all you do is give
back what you receive, then why not leave?

"All I do"? Really? Obviously, you can't be the least bit objective in all
this.

You liquidated your store and make infrequent purchases now it seems.

I am here because I enjoy being here. I have NOT liquidated ALL my inventory.
My shop is temporarily closed and may occasionally reopen to sell parts I accumulate
when parting out sets for minifigures. I also purchase $500 worth of minifigures
on average, mostly from BL sellers (especially from sellers who send me nice
coupons).

You do not talk about LEGO sets or parts.

Meh. Those discussions are usually boring. I am not a catalog or inventory guy.

And the majority of your posts are just arguing with other people endlessly.

LOL. More lack of objectivity on your part. The majority of my posts offer advice
to members who post here about problems, problems and issues that affect BrickLink
and buying and selling here, and opinions for or against suggestions made by
myself and others.

If we are all so juvenile and uncivil, why stay here?

"WE all"? Don't drag others into this. Speak for yourself only. I never said
ALL forum posters are juvenile or uncivil. Some are, but most are not. In fact,
I get along quite well with the vast majority of other posters here. Mainly because
they treat everyone with decency and respect. I stay here because THEY are the
ones I truly enjoy reading and conversing with.

Why not just leave? Do you not have anything better to do all day?

"All day"? More hyperbole from you. I actually enjoy being here and talking with
nice people. A great many nice people who absolutely have no problems with me,
nor I with them. You know, most of the people I have occasionally disagreed with
here in the forum don't hold grudges or obsess over every wrong rub they
may imagine I do. We actually agree on more things than we disagree on. But it
seems a few have a problem with the frequency, intensity and perseverance with
which I express my opinions. And that causes them to needlessly make snide sarcastic
digs that provide the initial spark for flames to occur.

Now isn't it rather telling how quickly YOU jumped into this thread and made
it all about me - one poster. That is not making things personal? Seriously dude,
go back and reconsider how you are doing the exact same thing you are complaining
about.

Thor

okay. You may be right

Bravo! Bravo! This was exactly my point when I posted about the hypocrisy of
preachers and how they whined about personal attacks by making personal attacks
themselves. Seriously... Take a look at the posts of those two who started this
thread. Every one of them contains personal attacks. And then they wonder why
I can't take them seriously. LOL.

But seriously, this is a bad idea. You can already control which subforums you
see when you browse, and you can add specific users to your "ignore" list so
you don't see their posts and/or threads. If you want to censor the forums,
you are empowered to do so without affecting everyone else.

Bravo again! I don't want anyone to feel forced to read anything I post.
So if you think I have nothing of value to offer you or the forum, then by all
means ignore me. PLEASE!

Thor

I'm not offended by you are anyone else making personal attacks, I don't
care. You are missing the point. Do it somewhere else. PM's, twitter, facebook
go outside and fight the person for all I care. The forum is just filled with
useless fecal matter lately (including this thread). I don't come on here
to read grown men bickering back and forth like a bunch of 6 year olds.

The suggestions of having a post cap would have cut down on this. I would have
reached my max post count and you wouldn't be reading this or see this
message in the forum front page. But like RobErNat said it wouldn't work
for catalog notes.

+1

I have tried, but the forum becomes incomprehensible since you insert yourself
everywhere. It becomes difficult to read important discussions (most of which
you have hijacked and veered off course). I would love to ignore you, but your
posts are like a metastasized cancer to the forum. Sad, but true.

Thor

It cannot be done. Your posts metasticize like cancer and infect enearly every
thread or important discussion. You hijack and veer them off course, either
intentionally or (more likely) unintentionally, simply due to your inability
to restrain yourself.

Why are you here? Based on your behavior and how much you think we are all uncivil
and wrong, it seems like you do not truly want to be here. Just an honest question,
not an insult-- Why not go somewhere else where you will feel more appreciated
?

I can ignore you and that would help a lot since you just spew typed fecal matter

I give what I receive. I am nice and civil when others are nice and civil to
me. Not so much when they aren't. It takes at least two to tango.

Besides, for every one post of mine that may distress you, there are at least
ten more than offer helpful advice to others and constructive comments about
suggestions and issues. To say ALL my posts spew "fecal matter all day" is simply
bogus and shows that YOU cannot remain objective and non-personal about things.

Still clogs up the forum making it hard to see other threads.

As do posts that whine about other posts the authors don't want to read.

Personally, I think most people actually enjoy reading such posts, just like
they slow down and rubber-neck at accident scenes. Those contentious threads
always seem to get more hits than your average calmer threads. So why deny what
many people want just because you can't handle it? People love seeing other
people act like idiots and I am happy to oblige them if it makes their day more
enjoyable. Consider it my good deed for the day.

But seriously... If it bothers you that much, exercise that brain and self-control
of yours when deciding what and what not to read. And if that is too much exercise
for you, there is always the Ignore feature that can act as your surrogate for
conscious decision-making.

Thor

leads to long drown out back and forth threads, from other members I would rather
not block.

You want to act immature and and be a that little kid that ALWAYS has something
to say and always has to win in an internet discussion, take that b.s. to reddit
or twitter.

Agreed. Endless baiting and lawyer tactics, always picking a fight with people.
Just awful. Literally kills all the fun of Lego just reading this guy's
posts

Also, it is impossible to ignore him. He replies to nearly every thread, and
forces himself into every discussion, typically veering them all off-topic and
devolving into nonsense. To ignore him is basically to make the forum suddenly
incomprehensible just by virtue of him inserting himself everywhere

This member is a forum wrecking ball, destructive to bricklink posting and contributing
to "people acting like idiots" in his very own words. This member ought to be
banned from the forum, he detracts rather than contributes to healthy, fun lego
discussion. We are all tired of it, including a lot of people who do not post
but have messaged me with the same sentiments

Voted YES for some kind of posting limits (not necessarily 10 per day). I will
not name anyone specifically, but a member whose username possibly rhymes with

I buy on BrickLink, I sell on BrickLink, but BrickLink is also an invaluable
resource when building. I need to be able to look up a part and see at a glance
the whole list of known colours and what ones are currently being sold. It is
really not acceptable to load the page and then have to click a drop down list
to see colors, then click known colors, then scroll just to see what those are,
and then have to do more work to see what is being sold of each. It's really,
really, really not useful compared to the old page layout. The old page layout
had this visible immediately when the part page loaded.

Please change this back as soon as possible. There should be a list of all known
colors and a list of all colors for sale at a minimum. This is important because
there may be known colors of some parts but they aren't for sale.

Also, it's generally bad idea in UI design to use a drop down list with more
than 8 or so options. If this cannot be changed back then the drop down list
should at least be made bigger so you don't have to scroll.

That is true but if they left it the old way then it would be too easy

Also they have to keep all those developers busy somehow. They are not cheap
you know

Sometimes we search for a part when we do not know the part number. Maybe it
is a torso or maybe it is a decorated brick or something else that is hard to
find when we do not know the official title of the part.

As a basic example:

User is looking for this part:

Part No: 2550c01 Name: Monkey with Yellow Hands and Feet
*
2550c01 (Inv) Monkey with Yellow Hands and Feet
Parts: Animal, Land

But maybe the users native language is not English so their first thought is
not "Monkey". Maybe the user types into search one or more of the following:
"chimp", "chimpanzee", "gorilla", "orangutan", "ape", "primate", "baboon". The
desired part does not show up

So what if we add some of these "similar" keywords to the catalog entry to assist
with searching. The official item title will remain, but a few more items will
now appear in search results, making it easier to find something.

It does not have to be for every part, maybe just a handful of parts that are
more difficult to describe

Like/Dislike feature for each post. Might be helpful to gauge the community's
true opinion on various issues, as many members prefer not to post or risk alienating
buyers/sellers with their opinions but may silently agree or disagree with certain
things and still wish to anonymously voice their opinion by upvoting or downvoting

I disagree. With everything on the internet printed in ink nowadays, I appreciate
some things being purged after a while. But maybe extend the purge timeframe
to a year or two instead of six months, and have some older data stored away
in archive somewhere.
