No...fecking....way...

OMG - that would be fantastic. They should do a full Horizon Zero Dawn theme.
Epic game, would produce epic sets. Would buy and build them all.

https://www.brickfanatics.com/lego-gaming-horizon-zero-dawn-tallneck-set/

Absolutely instant buy... there are already a bunch of brilliant MOCs out there
associated with that amazing game (such as the Thunderjaw in the image I'm
going to build someday!)...!

There are two fairly obvious reasons:

It cuts the prices you can ask for the new parts (and still sell it).
It cuts the number of people likely to be interested.

My high prices and continued sales would refute that reasoning...

  Hi,

I was wondering if anyone is listing both there new and used Lego as used. I

wondering if anyone has tried it and how it effected sales.

Thanks

Been doing that for years; it makes managing a massive inventory (I've maintained
over a million parts for years now) much simpler that way by myself... the only
items I will typically list as new are minifigures, cloth items, sticker sheets,
and a few various items (like stuff on sprues)... but the bulk of my parts is
listed as Used, even though many would be considered brand new; I find my Buyers
are always really happy to find that the "Used" items they ordered, are in like
new condition...

Still though, it makes managing a massive parts inventory easier as one inventory
("Used"), as opposed to two ("Used" & "New")...

I'm guessing you mean this one?

I don't have one (found the image on the internet), but I have seen a framed
one before in person--which I thought was a custom, until I saw the LEGO
logo and references at the bottom of it (making it seem a legit LEGO-produced
poster)
, but I don't believe it's currently in the catalog (& there
may not be many of them out there regardless)...

How big is your store? I'm trying to figure out how to classify shops by
size. I'm talking about shops that mainly sell parts.
I arrive at the following classification, from very small to very large:

1. very small store 1-500 parts
2. -----------------500-2500 parts
3. -----------------2500- 2500
4. -----------------12500-62500
5. -----------------62500-150000
6. -----------------150000-360000
7. -----------------360000-864000
8. very large store 864000-and more

Do you think this is useful? Apart from the two first classes (1-500 and 500-2500)
every next step is about 2,5 times the size of the previous one.

What do you think?

Apparently, I'm an 8; but I *feel* like a 4...

A couple of parts there that point to it being a custom... take this part:

Part No: 3959 Name: Minifigure, Utensil Space Gun / Torch

3959 Minifigure, Utensil Space Gun / Torch
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil {Brown}
It came in a variety of colors, but based upon the photo, it is Brown (and it
didn't come in any similar color that could be confused with that, such as
Reddish-Brown)... and it was only produced in these two sets in that color:

Set No: 4729 Name: Dumbledore's Office
*
4729-1 (Inv) Dumbledore's Office
429 Parts, 3 Minifigures, 2002
Sets: Harry Potter: Chamber of Secrets

Set No: 6094 Name: Guarded Treasury

6094-1 (Inv) Guarded Treasury
95 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 2000

And in this "gear":

Gear No: 5924 Name: Photo Frame Legoland Castle
*
5924 (Inv) Photo Frame Legoland Castle
Gear: Photo Frame & Holder: LEGOLAND Parks: Castle: Knights Kingdom I
None of which have anything resembling that build...

sent there even with tracking numbers. It has been a very frustrating year in
that regard...didn't lose one other package even to foreign countries. Curious
if it was just me or if there is legitimately some issues with USPS in CA. Thanks.

I've shipped nearly 300 orders to California addresses this year, and have
not had any go missing... not sure if that is simply because they were shipped
from within the state(?)

I do know that the local Los Angeles USPS Sorting Facility is not the best at
*scanning* packages that leave through it--so the tracking information is
always delayed showing up online--but the packages do seem to arrive without
issues...

I know one can't / shouldn't argue about tastes and preferences but I
have to admit that when I saw a leak about this set on social media a couple
of weeks ago I figured it was someone trolling as the item seemed far to amateurish
/ childish to be a real Lego set.

Imagine my surprise seeing this fugly thing becoming a GWP ...
Again, just my POV, but this is to me the most disappointing GWP to ever come
out and seems at best a joke. I can't imagine more than 30 seconds of thought
went into this "project".
The color scheme just hurts my eyes and the build looks like something that belongs
in the monthly mini-build series.

All kidding aside: was this a special project where a child could enter to create
the next GWP? If so, kuddos to the child for succeeding in making its build into
an actual Lego set.
If this was genuinely created by a certified Lego builder: how drunk was that
person and moreover, how drunk was his / her boss to approve this for a GWP?

Friday rant over.

It looks like most of their prices have three digits (ex: $0.431), so it just

those items. Is there a way too get around this so instant checkout will work

I know some people may prefer that but definitely not me.

...and in case you didn't know already; you can check all the items in your
inventory that are missing some bit of information that prevents them from being
purchased via Instant Checkout by going to "My Store--Inventory", then making
sure the "Instant Checkout Unavailable" box is checked, and hitting the "Go!"
button... if anything pops up, they are items missing information that would
allow for IC; you can then add whatever info (volume or weight) is missing manually
(as you can see in the screenshots, I added a weight to them)...

It took me a while to figure this out because a Buyer asked about a specific
item that they were unable to checkout with, and it turns out I had a bunch of
those items that couldn't be sold via IC; because I only set sales for IC,
and the missing volume/weight info prevented any Buyer from checking out if any
one of those items was in their cart (I'm like you, I don't want to go
back to the days before IC!)...

I regularly check it from time to time now, as I add more items to my inventory,

Nice. Had no idea about that. Just took care of quite a few listings on there.
Much appreciated as well.

no wrong information. A lot of members felt strongly about what was being discussed.
There should be a valid reason for cancelling a thread. Now, let's lock
the thread because some feelings were hurt.

I can see your point. I am glad it was finally locked, not sure if it would've
stopped otherwise. But I do agree that perhaps all of that shouldn't have
been cancelled. Amidst all the anger and fighting, there was some good discussion.

Yea, 'single issue thinking' on Admin's part in canceling the thread.

Not at all.

Yesterday I stopped reading this thread after the first five or so messages and
I cancelled my messages.
I see that the discussion is still going on.

I received a private response from someone I greatly appreciate. This person
advised me not to pay attention to the people who mainly use the forum to make
their own point and have fun with it.

To all those who have responded so far I have to say that I have not read your
response and I do not intend to respond.
It would be nice if this thread could be locked.

@Forum admins: do your work.

So, you went to the forum to express an opinion about something that was bugging
you. A whole bunch of people disagreed and said so publicly. One person agreed
with you privately. You are now disregarding everything said by anyone who disagreed
with you. Got it.

Jen

Here's what I contributed to the BL catalogue.
I dare MrPetovan.

Why are you making this some sort of competition...?
(I thought making everything a competition was strictly an American thing!)

Seriously though, although I'm all for additional contributions to the Bricklink
catalog; and even a little competition in doing so can be fun; unfortunately,
it seems you are challenging someone seemingly solely out of agitation, and that's
not all that healthy IMO...

I won't tell you what to do here, I will only suggest you take a moment to
reflect on the look you are currently illustrating in the forum; and let you
decide if it is the appearance you want to maintain...
