Do misprinted pieces get catalog entries? I understand misprinted pieces happen
often however if a misprint is listed under a non misprinted item then it doesn't
really reflect the item.

I recently purchased a used copy of the reissued Black Seas Barracuda and this
torso was there, also the torso has a modern underside and that is in common
with all the figures that came with the re-released set.

This can only be fixed by replacing the minifigure in the set inventory. But
the correct minifigure (with 973pb0280c01) must first be added to the catalog.
You can submit it here:
https://www.bricklink.com/wantedCatalog.asp?catType=M
The number would be pi198.

I didn't think that a set bought USED was allowed to be used as proof to
change or update / add to an inventory. Did this policy change?

Cass T

It isn't the only proof. There is only one set that occurred after the underside
torso design changed and that is 10040. The black buckle torso has the modern
underside so there isn't much possibility it could be any other set.

Maybe 7110? The first landspeeder was a fun little set.

Set No: 7110 Name: Landspeeder
*
7110-1 (Inv) Landspeeder
41 Parts, 2 Minifigures, 1999
Sets: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6

In Contests, popsicle writes:
The lengthy and sometimes lively debates over the recent catalog procedural change,
illustrates to me dedication to and strength of, community. As though that which
in one sense or another, gathered us, the BL catalog, continues to demonstrate
how it also helps in the forming of community.

Plenty of strongly held opinions with pushing n’ pulling of thoughtful and often
times impressive arguments. Consider that this would not take place if those
‘gathered’ were indifferent to one another... As I see it, plainly emblematic
of a healthy sense of community.

It’s the free exchange of ideas and thoughts that helps us to grow and improve
individually, but also collectively.

As posted, the cost of this contest is dedicated to those that have taken the
time to encourage and express their appreciation:
https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1451388

Enough introspective sappiness on my part Let’s have some fun!

The prize is a fairly rare LEGO Star Wars item

Gear No: 9002939 Name: Watch Set, SW Obi-Wan Kenobi (Short Cape)
*
9002939 Watch Set, SW Obi-Wan Kenobi (Short Cape)
Gear: Watch: Star Wars
New/Sealed, that contains

Minifig No: sw0388 Name: Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old) - Short Cape (Watch 9002939)
*
sw0388 (Inv) Obi-Wan Kenobi (Old) - Short Cape (Watch 9002939)
Minifigures: Star Wars: Star Wars Episode 4/5/6
with his chrome-silver hilted weapon

The contest: Guess the first LEGO set I ever purchased?

Clues: The purchase was for my son’s (unspecified) birthday in Sweden. He is
currently less than 30 years of age.

Contest Rules:

- One entry per 24 hour period, posted here without limit to number of entries.
- If two entries are identical, the first wins.
- For transparency all entries must be posted here as reply
- All our fellow BL members worldwide are welcome to participate, though we'll
cover domestic shipping only should you win.
- Otherwise, no further restrictions

Goofing-off and banter encouraged

I like the fire breathing horses 🙂👍. Four out of 150 is a pretty small percentage
bur it lines up with my numbers as well and the printed horses help to narrow
down when they were made.

That's the best pic I've ever seen

I have tons of horses. I'm off to go try this

Did you find any? I have a lot of horses but only found three. The holes do give
a bit of functionality to the pieces that wasn't possible without them.

Any way we can get a deferent color name for the Allianz 3001 bricks? like...
"Satin Milky White" or something? Makes it difficult trying to order
Milky White bricks when you arent sure what you are going to get.

Allianz Arena is just a milky white (uncolored) brick with very fine glitter
in it.

Why not just load up on varying skintones from the secondary market or from Pick
a brick? You can have what you want without removing the racial neutrality of
yellow figures.

In LEGO products, jadonut writes:
I wanted to post here to see how many other LEGO fans have felt similar frustration
and confusion about LEGO's own cultural stance to printing yellow only minifigures
for their non-IP sets (ICONS, City, Winter sets etc, etc).

For those of you who are already on-board with this, I'll link a great article
I found that excellently argues this point and cites its sources:

https://womensbrickinitiative.com/diverse-lego-minifigure-petition/

For those fans who haven't put much thought into this or are opposed to diversifying
the LEGO minifigure population, I'd urge you to read the above article. It's
well-written and researched, and says everything that needs to be said on this
topic.

In short, I don't at all agree with LEGO's staunch position on "yellow"
washing its minifigs that don't represent a certain IP. Their argument (as
quoted in the above article) that yellow is "race-neutral" is insulting,
as only light-skinned people can truly relate to that tone of color.

I'm personally interested in buying my first modular sets, but I also know
that I will have to spend money to swap out the heads, arms and some torsos to
make it representative of the world I live in, and the people I know.

I strongly believe that LEGO needs to do better, swallow its pride and discontinue
yellow minifigures. They're boring and lazy anyway.

I love LEGO and will be a lifelong fan. I just wish the brand matured with the
times quicker, and embraced cultural diversity.

How big is the demand for Modulex? Is it worth the work to sort to put up for
sale or should I sell everything in one piece?

I think it is pretty high but I am not too familiar with that system. Certainly
from what I have seen in groups suggests there is demand.

This is a common collector's project.

It would be great now that TLG owns Bricklink if they would produce color guides
to sell to sellers.

That would be great and really seems like it should be a thing. Maybe it could
get snuck in under the AFOL designer program. 🤔

Hi, I am not sure if somebody created an easy listing of one but many of us do
have color guides. I use 2x4's for mine. If you want I (or many others) could
put together one for you with a good variety of colors for a nice start.

  Hi,

The Color Guide download shows Black as RGB 212121 and Dark Brown as 510000

This makes Dark Brown darker than Black

I would expect Black to be RGB 000000

Why is that?

Thx,
Arnoud

This is odd to me too. I recently built a set from 2008 and the instructions
have the dark brown pieces so dark that it is impossible to distinguish the borders
of the pieces if they are on top of each other. This made it extremely difficult.
So annoying.
