I contacted the submitted of this request in 2015
https://www.bricklink.com/messageThread.asp?ID=190393

He checked the parts. His copy should be from 1986 (or later?). Interesting that
the white cone is not 3942b but 3942c.

Can confirm that the provided infos and pics come from my set

The cone with open stud can actually be seen as such in the instruction itself.
For the plate modified the box and instruction are showing the ones with the
thin ring but my set are containing the ones with the thick ring.

Best

As german seller in order to follow german law I want to be able to customize
the button displayed on the final checkout page (currently "Place Order") so
that it can be localized as needed by the shop owner.

Some background for emphasize the need (german only though sorry!): https://www.haendlerbund.de/de/downloads/whitepaper-button-loesung.pdf

This setting should be implemented in an optional way (when not defined default
BL text will be displayed). Furthermore a checkbox for displaying it to domestic
buyers only might be helpful.

To any other (german) seller: Please add to this idea / feature request so that
we can use BL again

sincerely

to throw out there as I've been thinking about it for a while.

Why not separate professional sellers and private sellers? I mean with an icon,
a label, a colour, something like that. Right now there are private persons just
getting rid of some old parts they aren't using, and online stores that use
Bricklink as their platform. An entirely different world in every aspect, but
they will show up in exactly the same way.

For years and years there's this eternal clash going on between buyers and
sellers and it seems like they sometimes speak different languages when the buyers
demand "their rights" and the seller has no idea what they're talking about.
Much if not most of the grief going on on Bricklink may be caused by buyers buying
from private sellers and expecting business service. The main example I can think
of now is about whose problem it is when a package is lost, but also tax and
refund issues get confusing if it's unclear whether we're talking about
two people trading or about consumer rights.

So how about labels for private sellers and professional sellers?

there is already this lovely brick next to the username

That's feedback and it's unrelated There are businesses with low feedback
scores and hobbyists with high scores. It doesn't tell you anything about
the legal form of the transaction.

Is "legal form of the transaction" relevant if the seller selected the finest
used bricks, having them well packaged and shipped to the customer?

In Germany legaly wise its actually no matter of size as well, if you have the
intention to gain money by selling goods (on long term) you have a business,
period.

I would rather condsider me hobby seller as well (although legaly registered
and paying my taxes). I had to learn quite few a things and would consider my
service way better than 500+ ratings and 5 years ago.

The point was that the ratings can give you an insight of how much the other
guy is into the lego selling/buying thing as well. And even if it is just a hundred
of buying ratings, still the idea of how a good order has to look like is more
established than it might be with 0-20 rating (I said might, so there are definitly
sellers doing a great job within this range)

  Hahaha, sweet...thanks!!

I wanted my store to be the easiest thing to navigate for buyers that are new
to Bricklink. So far, it seems to be working pretty well.

I don't want this to be a slam on sellers that charge a fee (I used to do it
myself) for packaging, gas, printer ink, paper, etc...and I totally don't begrudge
paying those fees to sellers on things I buy when they list it up front in their
terms. But it did occur to me when I was at Target one day, that if the cashier
looked at me and said "I need to charge you a few extra dollars to pay for these
plastic bags and my gas getting here"
...well, that would have seemed a bit odd.
I just decided that I don't want to do that to my customers.

Shipping supplies are cheap for me. I buy enough on Ebay, that this is where
my Ebay Bucks go to: padded envelopes. I also work at airport (for now), so
driving to a post office isn't an issue...we have one on site.

Like I said, I don't begrudge sellers at all when they charge a reasonable fee...I
think I'm just fortunate enough to not have to.

Be careful what you say, Target in Australia already charges for plastic bags
(about 20c each I think), they say it is to stop people using them to cut down
on the environmental impact, but it is most likely just money grabbing.

Paul

Hi Paul,

we also have to pay for plastic bags in the super market and yes it makes
me to reuse bags (just grapping some if i head for the weekly shopping spree,
a wife and two childs have to be fed ^^) and if they are to used they end as
garbage bags

and the usal bags are from recycled plastic stuff already *g*

This may exist, but after doing several searches in the Help menu with different
key words, concerning buyer reserved items, nothing comes up for the buyer. Any
reference is for "adding" reserved items.

It has been 100% consistent that new members can not find any instructional information
on where to find items reserved for them or how to add them to their order. I
have always had to send an email, after getting an inquiry, on how to find the
items I've reserved for them and how to add them to their order. I remember when
I was new and had the same issue, having to contact the seller on how to do it.

Can we add a Help page under "Buying" with header "How to purchase Items Reserved
for me" - or something to that effect.

thanks,

Judy

the way it works now is not quite intuitive for both buyer and seller side. i
had questions on 2 reserved items from buyers with 500+ feedback on how to find
their reserved items, so they have been quite here for a while

for the seller who want's to check if he has marked the items correctly for his
store a possibility to check it directly in the store would also be nice

Go to My Inventory. Right-hand side. Reserved for private sale. This will show
if you have any items reserved.

Pam

hi pam,

yes i know this already

it's rather about checking it from the buyers perspective through the store,
so if my settings in the inventory are reflected correctly in my store

mhm i don't really like this idea, because the market of rare items can be cornered
by one seller at ease then. on this position the seller can try to dictate the
price as he like it cause he is the only one offering these parts.

I'm not sure I understand. Sellers are already able to do that. (I suppose that
the suggestion would make it easier for sellers to notice they have rare parts
if they are unaware.)

yes the can do this on limited basis yet, but it requires some experience and
afford to do this. i think with this function it would kind of to easy.

raise prices for the collectors who need this special part for completing a set

The BL accepted payment method settings has two options:
1. "Within My Country I Accept Payment By"
2. "Internationally I Accept Payment By"

Please add the possibility to exclude Paypal for EU as accepted method.
Perhaps with the methods "Paypal (EU)" and "Paypal (Worldwide)".

Because in the EU you can easily pay with bank transfer with the same costs as
if you would make a bank transfer in your country, in most cases this is just
0.00 EUR, this is somethere defined by EU law if i'm right.

brickwilbo just make a comment on your IBAN payment option, that this is your
preferred EU payment method. this will not stop buyers to be able to use paypal
as payment method but actually my last orders from netherland and finland all
used IBAN instead of paypal.

Hi everybody,

it would be really cool, if one could print an invoice directly from the BL-System.
Sure you have the order details and a reduced view for printing mode (as implicated
by the printer icon) but at least for my needs it really does not do well.

so it would be cool if:

- the details for the printing view could also be specified by settings to match
the personal needs just like one can choose to display weight, items left etc.
in the order details view

- all parameters which are needed for a commercial invoice are included in the
print view

- alterativly the buyers/sellers messages could be hide by option on the order
detail field

- one could use templates to allow the seller to bring in his own design filled
with predefined variables such as we know them from the invoice system

Enabling a seller to print a commercial invoice with one click directly from
BL would make things easier for the seller regardless if he has to print a commercial
invoice for international orders to be attached to the mail/package or if he
just want to have the invoice for himself concerning taxes or something.

thx for looking at this suggestion

it can even be a loss to the buyer who has selected the seller because he as
all the bricks needed thus minimizing shipping costs because they have only to
be paid once and the needed parts have not to be split to several orders.

thats why i offer buyers the option to cancel the order in any case an item ordered
is not available (other color: light gray vs light bluish gray or quantity) because
they may have selected my store because i'm the only one with all of there needed
parts which saves them money on shipment.

I also have used order change requests but these work somewhat slowly because
the buyer sometimes doesn't react on that and is still waiting for me to invoice
(had that a couple of times). Instead a credit on the order and short info text
works better for me.

Yes that is the only limitation I know of.
Perhaps admin might consider this an easier change than your original suggestion?

What is cumbersome about having 2 wanted lists? (trying to understand the suggestion)

thats right 2 lists for one set (i prefere to have an own wanted list for each
set which i manage in separate files in brickstore, a wanted list for each set
simply allows me to complete one set faster) but what about 20 sets with missing
parts, that would be 40 lists instead

Ah okay now I understand. Here's how I solve the problem:

Wanted list A with 20 parts. I visit the list by selecting it in the dropdown,
click "show all", then use the "query by store" checkbox for the parts I most
want in the list, that HAVE to be there in order for me to place an order.

So say I select 5 out of the 20 parts. Then when I hit the submit button, it
shows me the by shop screen with the sellers who have the most lots(unique) off
of my list. I choose the ones that have the most (5/5, 4/5) and compare those
ones first, and then from within the specific store, I can look for the other
items on the wanted list as well.

Conversely if you want to look for all 20, then just go to the by shop page and
select only that wanted list.

Hope that makes sense and helps you find what you're looking for!

I enter the setnumber in the remarksfield of the mandatory wantlist.

ok thanks for this advice, i will give it a try. so 1 mandatory list and then
the set lists

but this is still not reflecting the suggested behavior: "today i want to complete
the essential elemenents on set lets check this out on bricklink with my
mandatory list" - shops with unique lots on that list but my set parts
are not guaranteed to be included or sorted to be at pole positions

sorry for protecting my idea but i still think that it would be a usefull function
to bring buyer and seller together more easily with moderate implementation effort
(one checkbox for items on the wanted list and a new filter for the "by shop"
function utilizing the checkbox value)

What is cumbersome about having 2 wanted lists? (trying to understand the suggestion)

thats right 2 lists for one set (i prefere to have an own wanted list for each
set which i manage in separate files in brickstore, a wanted list for each set
simply allows me to complete one set faster) but what about 20 sets with missing
parts, that would be 40 lists instead

Hi there,

i want to suggest a function regarding wanted lists and the way they work with
the "by shop" function. if i use the show wanted items by shop function sorted
by unique lots in most cases i'm searching the resulting shops just to find out
that a couple of the mandatory items i really wanted to have included in an order
for that wanted list are missing.

Example: Fictive Wanted List with 100 Lots (10 of them are mandatory for completing
the build.

Fictive "by Shop" Result

SHOP A(1798) Canada 66 (59) 5,755 ~EUR 1.76
SHOP B(5445) USA 98 (54) 30,293 ~EUR 105.73
SHOP C(6018) USA 81 (54) 42,349 ~EUR 5.64
SHOP D(3334) Canada 190 (54)13,661 ~EUR 2.11

Fictive manuel Search Result in the Shops:

SHOP A: 59 Lots i need only 7 of my mandatory lots
SHOP B: 54 Lots i need only 2 of my mandatory lots
SHOP C: 54 Lots i need only 5 of my mandatory lots
SHOP D: 54 Lots i need only 8 of my mandatory lots

If there would be checkboxes for the items on my wanted list which would mark
this lot as mandatory for the "by shop" function and an additional sort option
"sort by mandatory lots" would be included this would be a really timesaving
issue.

I know that one can have maybe 2 wanted lists: one for the mandatory and one
for the "optional" items but if you have a couple of sets missing items this
is really cumbersome.
