So, does it really matter? After you pass a certain score, does a buyer really
care if you gain 1,000 more positive feedback or whether you get 10 or 500 feedback
per month? Is it only the positive rate that matters?

What do you say, my big friends?

At a point it really doesn’t matter, unless every other feedback is negative

our mark here and if you leave it, ok, if not ok.

Just curious why Bricklink has not updated their platform and if they will in
the future. This is a 20 year old platform. Would be great to see it modernized
to standard of design. Brickstore is great to use because much easier, but
with the money we pay Bricklink, would be great if we didn't have to use
a 3rd part app.

As other said, major overhaul would be challenging. Best they can do is minor
changes here and there. Some years back (around 11?) they had to change security
after someone hacked an admin account and merged a bunch of Bricklink accounts
into one banned account. Cookies had to be radically changed to prevent repeat
of that fiasco.

That was a disaster if I remember correctly

  2022

I look forward to leaving the year behind to start on a more constructive and
perhaps happier new year. Gotta feeling 2023 is going to be a good year, folks!

Had some deeply felt loss and hardship this year and it seemed every time I looked
outward on the world for distraction or respite from my own heartache, all that
I saw was the hardship for others. Believe it or not, for much of 2022, this
forum has been a small space of saneness and a sanctuary for me. Thank you all.

If anyone would like a $5 coupon as a gift, just let me know. It’s not much of
a gesture, but it’s my way of saying thanks. If there’s any other consideration
I can offer from our store, please let me know what that might be as well.

Gonna celebrate with those I care about most tonight. Who knows really in their
hearts, what they’ll be celebrating. But for me, it’s closing the book on 2022
to continue more fully the writing of my new chapter in life. Which I got a jump
on, months ago. Okay, I cheated

You might have to go back several times to find out if it really shipped.

Just asking.

As soon as we print up label and it goes into our outgoing bin for the carrier
to pick up, it's marked shipped, otherwise it's a bit of a waste of time
to essentially keep dibs on the post office scan. Our carrier scans when they
pick up at our facility, but any retailer does the same thing.

It's been slow, here in the US, the economy, inflation, gas prices have all
taken over people's wallets right now, we typically are pretty steady on
BL, but it has definitely slowed a bit. Just lots of uncertainty right now in

- 75144. 325.00

Thank you for your time.

Why not just buy them at those prices if they are available at those prices.

To save on 5 (expensive) Shipping?

Which is then the pricing of big vs small stores issue. Sellers with a wide range
of stock don't need to price match small stores and can charge more per item
as they are still attractive to buyers. Whereas small stores often have to undercut
to make sales if they are to be attractive after postage costs for one or a small
selection of items.

Exactly, big stores that may have all of these are most likely retailing as well
and are going to have overhead expenses etc... The OP is better off going to
a convention, like BrickFair VA, which is in his area and see if he can gather
them up in one place.

  Please, HELP!

Hello, Bricklink administration and bricklink community!
How can a russian store pay the monthly BL fee these days?
I am an admin of quite big russian Bricklink store named GoldFish, wich located
in Moscow city, Russia. I have a problem, I tryed to pay my monthly fee bill
but it's impossible to do that from Russia nowadays:
1) Tried tp pay with Paypal: PayPal says: "To comply with international regulations,
this transaction has been declined."
2) Tried to pay with bank card: "Card declined. Try another card."

I am sad, disapointed and worry! What may I and other sellers from Russia do
in this case? We spent years for our honest job and don't want to lose our
businesses!

Please, help us!

Best Regards, Nikonov Aleksandr

It's a bad situation for everyone but since the economic sanctions no longer
allow paypal, and all major credit cards to be utilized in Russia it's going
to be impossible to make your monthly payment. Not sure admin can suspend for
the moment until things work out. But it's something worth asking once you
do get a reply of sorts. Good luck to you.

Is it normal and fair or how do you see it?

I can't speak for the price increase but sometimes if someone requests a
quote with a long list of items in it, and someone else either instant buys the
same item in that persons quote request the quote will automatically cancel because
the item is not available anymore. We also run a retail store so if it's
sold in store and gets taken out of inventory the same thing will happen. So
that could affect a quote request,

but again I can't speak for the price hike.

Really?

How virtuous of you, Scott. I can and will "speak for the price hike" to all/any:

If the price is right, buy it! In other words "you snooze, you lose" applies
to all of us. We all know this, right?

I've never had the quote feature enabled, nor do I use it when buying. But
do receive similar requests, to which I always extent the courtesy of a reply.
In that reply, I make it clear they have x-amount of days to pull-the-trigger,
after which, I'll be adjusting the listed price upward.

For me, prices are always unidirectional. Envision the 'bigger picture'
Lego vendors... or not

-popsicle

Hey Cory, we respond to all quote requests, they can and have disappeared if
the buyer doesn't pull the trigger fast enough and somebody else instant
carts it. Your right ya snooze ya lose, in that fashion. I don't know what
the OP's item was in mention and I guess I can be the devil's advocate
and say maybe they saw the price in the quote request and looked at comparables
and saw that whatever they had was well below market value and so they adjusted
it. I'm not saying that was right but it is their product and they have the
option of changing the price. Again not saying that's great customer service,
they should have messaged and said they were going to price hike it for reason
xxx. It's sucks for the buyer but yeah.... If we miss price something in
the retail store we honor it as any retailer should.

I was wondering if anyone had any insight into how some sellers have these massive
listings (sometimes 200, 500, even over 1000) of sealed LEGO kits to sell. Not
trying to point figures, but this comes off as inherently sketchy to me - there
have been some pretty well-documented instances of LEGO theft recently, and having
several hundred kits listed on a store raises a red flag for me as a buyer. If
there's a perfectly logical reason for this that I'm missing then I stand
corrected. I'd love to hear people's thoughts on this regardless.

Though we don't have those numbers we do carry large quantities ourselves
as we have a retail store front and get regular distribution through Lego.

What do I need to file? Something from Bricklink, Paypal and Stripe, or just
from Bricklink plus my expense receipts, I am guessing.

Any info would be great

Thank you

Each state is different, you should probably consult an accountant or if you
use a tax service like HR Block etc.. I think you may get wrong advice in the
forum which could lead to major issues with the IRS or you state. So please consult
a professional.

I think that's the problem, they aren't taking resellers or business

Let me repost without any hint of tax advise

It's beyond "just a proposal" to having been enacted by Congress via the
"American Rescue Plan Act of 2021" The change came into effect Jan 1st, 2022,
essentially lowering the 1099-K reporting threshold, starting in tax year 2022

-popsicle

Yep and folks should be reporting as income regardless if they get a 1099-k,
now the govt is going to make sure you report it as they will be getting that
nice little 1099-k from essentially everyone.

Fair question. We refunded through the order, not PayPal. Since Bricklink is
collecting sales tax on our behalf. Aren’t they responsible for refunding any
partial refunds as well, the buyer equated to 10.95 due back. We as sellers,
in my opinion shouldn’t be held responsible for that if said entity is collecting
on our behalf. Without even knowing what that particular persons sales tax is,
as city, state, counties, all have different sales tax structures. Or does the
buyer get it back from Bricklink just not at the same time we issue the partial
refund.
I help desk messaged, but we all know how far that goes here.

Scott

One could thing you can do is that you request to remove that part(s) from the
order and the buyer has to approve this.
https://www.bricklink.com/retractOrderItem.asp

After you do this, the total in your order and the sales tax will be adjusted
at the same time and you can more easily figure out the total (remaining) you
need to refund.

Not when you use instant checkout like we do, the order is paid for and then
if we are missing something it takes us to where we are with a partial refund
and the sales tax question. I’d say that was ok for those manually invoicing
buyers.

HELP PLEASE.

This is insanity. There's no way to do proper work on your store like this...

Tracy
BrickAThon/BulkAThon

I'm not admin or anything, but I found the issue and cause by troubleshooting
the HTML a bit. So the issue is that there is an undefined variable within the
website coding which is causing the inventory to fail to show. Specifically the
issue is regarding the option for sellers to "Enable my weight and packing dimension..".
I was able to uncheck this option as it is not used much within my store, and
am able to see my entire inventory. But I do not see this as a feasible resolution
for all stores so hopefully admin can resolve the issue quickly.

I can confirm that this works, and your custom weight is not lost if disabled
and enabling the setting again later.

The setting is here: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/mystore/management.page

Will there be a comic about disabling features being a new feature?

Yep tried it and it works, dammit
