Hi All - I sent in one of my Boba Fetts for grading as a test case and just received
it back. The few that I have sold were always questioned if it was authentic,
so I decided to try grading. It graded at 90+ (93.3), which I'm happy with
as the helmet is a little off.

I'm unsure if I'm going to sell it, but I'm curious about the value
now. Any thoughts on the list price if I was to list it? I also have Cloud
City Lando (92.1) and Luke (93.8).

Thanks, Liger99

I don't recall how I shipped the gun...assembled or not. They did ask for
me to ship the gun being I didn't include it in the first shipment.

Did the grading also determine if it was new or used?

There was some play wear so I assumed used condition. It is being shipped to
me now and I will review the paperwork to see if it mentions new/used plus overall
rating items.

It is no longer a minifigure that can be displayed as a minifigure. It is a minifigure
inside a lump of perspex advertising the company that you paid to give their
opinion on its condition. The market is probably smaller now than it was, both
for displayability and no doubt you expect the buyer to pay more for it now it
is graded.

Thank you again. I'm still unsure about selling it, but yes I would want
a higher price for him. My assumption too is that the market would be smaller,
but maybe some non-Lego collectors would be interested or possibly someone that
just wants to make sure it is not fake?

They can ask a seller with experience. I reckon most sellers here, even small
ones, have handled more lego than some grading companies.

It took about 10 months to get the grade and the company has been around a long
time. They are also at most of the collectable shows all over the US. My guess
is that they know how to spot fake items and took their time to review well.
I had my items since new so didn't suspect they were not real, but will
do some research on how they authenticate if I plan to send in any more items.

It depends what anyone interested in buying it will pay. It is no longer a minifigure,
it is now an encased collectable with a sticker on the casing saying I'm
worth more, so pay more. If the buyer trusts the grading company.

Thanks for the feedback. I was wondering if 'not being a minifigure anymore'
was an issue now that it is in a case. I don't see many graded minis, so
I guess that is part of the reason. Thanks, Liger99

  Hello.
I purchased some Cloud City minifigs and after examining them I noticed some
print issues on on Boba Fett. His left arm, left leg, and torso (black lines
are too far left) are off register. The right arm printing is off center. The
rest of the figs from the group seem fine except the head on Darth Vader, the
bags under his eyes are off center. All the parts are marked Lego except: Boba
helmet is marked inside top center with a “2”, and no mark on any of the blocked
open stud heads. The seller is no Lego expert, but knew some figures from this
set were valuable. He asked a fair price, and offered a full refund if they are
not real. I have seen other Lego torsos printed off register, so it’s not unheard
of, but due to the price I would appreciate the opinions of some seasoned Lego
fans.
Thank you in advance. Lia

I have a bunch of the sw017 Boba Fetts and I don't see anything on that one
that looks fake. Like the others said, the print centering if off from that
timeframe. The arm printing on it is actually pretty. Sometimes it is too low
and comes off the arm altogether. If it does not have arm cracks, then it sounds
like you got a pretty good deal.

Oh my gosh. Three cloud city Boba's???

Three sw0107s and one sw0107 torso. Luckily I had an extra set of legs at home.

Wow, and why were they stored in your desk drawer?

There is a post office next to my work site and I was planning to mail some for
grading or was going to list some for sale. The sw0107s are mint/near mint so
I think they were headed for grading before the pandemic hit.

sellers might negotiate on the pricea tiny bit, but most won't because someone

Wow... I thought when I found one unknowingly in a used lot I purchased about
10 years ago and sold it for $100.00 or so that I was getting a huge profit and
was very pleased at the profit...

Well on a eurobricks forum from 2010 the set was said to sell for $60 used, so
the figures were probably just starting to get expensive around that time.

Really? I recall Boba Fett was about $100 back in 2010 and Lando being about
half that if he had his cape. So $60 for a used set including all the minifigs
would have been a real bargain.

I found an invoice the other day from 2012. It had SW107 = $155.00 on it.

Hi, I’m LegoFan1138. This is my first post, so I haven’t quite gotten the hang
of chatting with other members on the site yet. I created this account in February,
so I’m new here. Please be kind. I was wondering if anyone was willing to part
with a SW0107 Cloud City Boba Fett. I only have $200. I know that’s a very cheap
price for a figure of that value, but I could possibly add a few items to even
it out. Please message me if you are interested in parting with your Cloud City
Boba Fett. Please note, I am only accepting offers with the variant from 10123.

You can buy a replica Boba Fett 10123 from ebay and save up for the real thing.
I've seen some sold recently there and they look pretty good. Some were
$200+ on auction.

Which (In your opinion) is the best way to go about investing in Star Wars?
Minifigures, polybags, sets or anything else. Thanks.

I built my Lego Star Wars collection about 10-15 years ago. It has easily doubled
in value since then, however, DIS stock has gone from 30 per share to about 150
a share in that timeframe. Download the Robinhood app and start investing that
way if you want to make money. I enjoyed building my Lego collection very much.
I started selling some of the collection and that part has been less fun.

I'll close the store if I'm unable access the items for a few days,

Yes, please contact me for additional pics and to negotiate prices. I have been
getting messages that did lead to some sales...mostly one the 10123 Cloud City
items. The sealed 10123 sold for 6999 and 3800 on ebay recently, so I tried
price it in that range. I may need to sell it on ebay, but wanted to try here
first.

It's crazy how much things have appreciated in value these past few years.
I remember selling the 10123 Cloud City unopened to Russia for about $400 back
in 2010. I sold a bunch of my collection around that time to buy a car. Definitely
should have just borrowed the money and kept what I had.

Yeah I am going through my collection and have found some receipts from long
ago. Things were way cheaper.

Pretty heavy handed on your prices, I dare say you maybe better off on eBay with
those prices.

Scott

Thanks for the feedback. I lowered some prices based on this. I'm expecting
to be contacted for pictures and price negotiation on items like Boba Fett.
