Seems like the last three sets have stalled on preorders. Don't get me wrong,
they are all great, but this shows that BrickLink should have listened more carefully.
What most people were complaining about was not getting Castle in the Forest,
and rightly so since it sold out so quickly it broke the website and took 10k
orders by accident.

It's almost like they noticed there were a lot of complaints, but instead
of actually listening to feedback they just forged ahead with their idea of what
they should do next. And now the obvious has happened: by deliberately not increasing
the cap on the by far most popular set but doing so for all the others, BL has
put themselves at risk of not reaching the 10k mark on the other sets.

My suggestion for avoiding this in the future is simple, actually listen to the
feedback you are getting and look where the demand is! Nobody cares about exclusivity!

First of all, I do have to thank Bricklink for making this program, it is an
enormous step in the right direction. With that said, I thought the 2k+
of unhappy comments under Castle in the Forest would make it clear that this
is the set we want... it sold 10k units in 36 minutes while the next set took
3 hours to sell 5k units. And instead you make more of all the other sets? Don't
get me wrong, they are all great, but this is the one where customers truly did
not have adequate chances to buy it. It went in mere minutes while the site was
crashing.

I don't know why the Bricklink team is willing to make potentially tens of
thousands of customers disappointed so that a minority of customers can bask
in "exclusivity" created by artificial scarcity. It is simply bad customer service.
The expectation was that this program was designed to crowdfund sets we love
so we can buy them, not a mad scramble to buy limited edition sets. I think it
is very safe to say that many customers will see this as an inadequate solution.
I was excited for this program, and it is a shame that it turned out this way.
