How will this be used? Will we be able to set up a shipping method that is only
allowed if all pieces are under a certain thickness? (i.i USPS large envelope/flat)

So the checkout would need to find the smallest of the three dimensions for each
element in the cart, and make sure it is below the threshold.

Or is it just to better approximate the total volume of the order?

It's already very much in use with Canadians sellers; it can jump from a
$1.94 stamp to $22 if the part is over 20mm in thickness. Canadian sellers have
been manually putting in the packaging dimensions for every oversized item (and
setting those items to Volume based).

What you do is set the packaging limits (if you have any for USPS) in the shipping
option like you mentioned, and it ensures that if there's a thickness maximum
(like the 20mm in Canada for Lettermail), that no part has any dimension that
goes over that. There's also general volumetric dimensions that you can set
where it's to try to calculate if "that much LEGO" can fit into what you
gave it, but I'm not entirely sure how well this part works.

So you have to exclude a part with any dimension over 20mm? That doesn't
seem like it would work very well. A 1x6x5 brick can easily fit but only one
of its dimensions is less than 20mm.

In a large box of loose LEGO, I came across several light gray pieces that I
can't identify the color of. They are from set 41154 and the only gray listed
in the inventory is LBG. The pieces in question are the 1x1 bricks as well as
the 1x2x5 bricks. For reference, the arch, 1x4, and 2x4 are light bluish gray.
The liftarm is very light bluish gray.

I know there is a variance in the light bluish gray, but this is a pretty dramatic
shade difference. And they ALL have the same shade, every 1x1 and 1x2x5. They
are LEGO pieces as I checked the studs and the logo is present.

Any ideas? Or have I overlooked something simple?

If they were in a large loose box are you sure they came from 41154? Were there
any older (light gray) pieces in the box? The previous owner may have been playing
and took it apart and put it back together with some older bricks.

However, the fact that it is only certain elements (and all of those elements)
leads me to believe it was a bad batch produced this way by LEGO. Since it is
a recent set I wouldn't expect any fading or discoloration this quickly.

We have the option to exclude incomplete sets from searches but I'm coming
across a lot of instructions entries that are missing parts and I'd like
to filter them out as I'm looking for complete ones.

I'm not suggesting disallowing individual parts as people may need them to
complete a set.

Interesting because incomplete minifigures can't be listed with the catalog
entry - they have to be listed as a custom item. I expect the same rules apply
to instructions.

Currently there is no way for sellers to indicate complete/incomplete except
for sets. So there is no way to flag them in searches. It would require programming
so is unlikely to happen.

  Good day one and all.

I am trying to identify this colour.

The ones at the bottom are Pearl Gold, are the ones above Pearl Light Gold. I
just don’t recognise the colour

Thanks
Steve

I’ve yet to see another LEGO color with greater production variance than with
the their (warm) gold or what we here on BL call, pearl gold.

These were parted from the same set number, years ago.

Interesting I just sold a batch of (dark) Pearl Gold 1x1 round plates today.

I had separated the dark ones and listed them in a new lot, with notes about
the color.

There doesn't seem to be a range of shades - they are either dark or light.
I would be in favor of creating a new color in Bricklink to list the dark ones.
They could be an alternate item in inventories where they have been included.

I'm still amazed that with the popularity of this set that the stickered
counterparts haven't all been inventoried yet.

Hi - does anyone know what is the exact color of part number 32525 from set 42083?
I need to order it and it is a variant of a blue but not sure which is it

According to the Bricklink inventory the set includes this part in both Dark
Blue and Dark Azure.

Found some frosted trans-light-blue 1x4 bars in a set recently and I'm not
comfortable mixing them with my current inventory. They are quite different and
I don't think a customer who orders several would be happy getting a mixture.

Part No: 30374 Name: Bar 4L (Lightsaber Blade / Wand)
*
30374 Bar 4L (Lightsaber Blade / Wand)
Parts: Bar

The additional notes state:

"Alternate item number 28697 is used for transparent colors. This mold variant
has no bubbles and number 28697 molded on it. It has been found in two variations
clear and frosted as showed on additional images."

So it seems the catalog admins are aware of the difference and have decided not
to reflect it in the catalog here? Personally I think this is a mold variation
worth recognizing.

  Hi,

maybe it will sound strange but after a long, long break I've returned to
my youth craze and bought the Lego Taj MahaL.
Now it really matters to me to build by the instructions, means I want the build
to be 100% as intended. While I still haven't finished the build, I have
6 extra 1X1 transparent plate (3024). I've looked at the extra's inventory
on this site and damn it. I haven't seen those 6 extra parts listed

Now it drives me crazy, I retraced my steps but I haven't noticed that I
missed something. How that could be? is there a possibility the inventory list
on this site isn't right?

Thanks in advance!

Don't worry about it. This is a piece that normally has extras included,
but the extra parts can vary by production batch. For extra pieces, the Bricklink
inventory is a guide only and your contents may be different.
