The inventory is correct as is since 553b is gone, gone as of April 12:

Ah. So...I could just use the plain 553 entry to add that part in Set 22011 to
my inventory -- assuming that entry also pertains to any 553 having axle
holes -- and no need for a CCR?

Hoping that this is the case.

During parting out and adding to my inventory this set:

Set No: 11022 Name: Space Mission
*
11022-1 (Inv) Space Mission
1700 Parts, 2022
Sets: Classic

I noticed that 553b (aka Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dome Top, C = Magenta or 71) is without
either catalog entry or image. I was about to submit a Cat Change Request and
then I remembered the ongoing headaches regarding the Variant Project as detailed
in this message:

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1451828

So, is the image and entry merely and temporarily 'down' due to Variant
Project implementation? Or is 553b entry actually gone-gone and a CCR needs
to be completed in order to make 553b part of 553? Note that there are currently
only two catalog entries for Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dome Top. One is

Part No: 553 Name: Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dome Top
*
553 Brick, Round 2 x 2 Dome Top
Parts: Brick, Round {Magenta}
while
553a is listed as "without Bottom Axle Holder".

FWIW, the 553 in Set 11022 has a blocked open stud.

I'm uncertain what action to take, or if I even should.

[ P = part num , color num]
So yes

My thank you to Nubs also extends to you:

I've been searching everywhere for the answer to this. As is getting more
and more usual, nothing.

When one posts a Forum message that includes a Part Macro tag, a problem window
pops up if a color was not specified in the tag. Naturally, the window does not
include instructions as to how to actually do this. That would be so uncharacteristic.

So, what's the format, please?

It has been about a year since my store was last opened for a month or longer.
I'm presuming that there have been a number of significant policy changes
in that time, particularly for sellers. That being said, I do make every effort
to keep up; I read the Forum regularly, being especially alert for posts regarding
seller issues (and resolutions) and selling tips.

What I'm really jittery about is the potential for fraudulent PayPal chargeback
once I begin pushing out orders again. Out of my 776 feedback (775 positive,
1 neutral, and 0 complaint), 510 of the positives were for selling. Even my one
neutral reads "Awesome seller". So I'd like to think, at least, that
a potential buyer will trust me to get their order correct and sent to them in
undamaged condition.

But that, of course, does not stop a handful of buyers from pulling the ol'
chargeback lever despite the fact that they got their order complete and undamaged.
A lot of the posts I've read over the years from high-feedback sellers regarding
this nightmare is that, more often than not, the seller ends up on the losing
side of the dispute. This is the kind of thing that I'd like to avoid or
at least minimize.

Any advice? Any special tools or methods you use to keep fraudulent chargeback
to a minimum? Even basic advice regarding making the selling experience as issue-free
for the buyer would be welcome. I have initiated automated checkout.

  Hello,

I would be very grateful if any Lego fans out there could help me by answering
a couple of questions for a Lego school project...

I'm a year 8 student (12 years old) from the UK and a massive Lego fan. I'm
working on a school Design & Engineering study project and I really want to make
a Lego related product.

At home, I have all my bricks in drawers but when I go away from home I struggle
to take my bricks and Lego projects with me. To help me and others who have the
same problem, I have chosen to design and make a product to help to people travel
with their bricks and build anywhere.

I'm doing some research into what people currently use to travel with Lego
and and I would be very grateful if you could answer the questions below to help
me understand what things you feel would be useful to a product like this

It will only take you a minute or two: https://forms.office.com/e/XWUmpDsYHj

Thank you very much for your help.

Just took your survey. Quite well-written. I hope that my submissions are useful
to you.

I'm in the midst of transferring my store inventory from dust-prone drawers
to sealed bins. Just now, I transferred

Part No: 45301 Name: Wedge 16 x 4 Triple Curved with Reinforcements
*
45301 Wedge 16 x 4 Triple Curved with Reinforcements
Parts: Wedge {Reddish Brown}
thus changing "Drawer
U3" in the Remarks section to "Bin 7" in the process.

The anomaly here is that the 45301 Wedge element in question shows up in an inventory
search if the Store Inventory is displayed By Color, but does not show up in
a similar search by Remarks.

Odd, because all other transferred elements show up immediately in any type of
inventory search. Just not this one, and I cannot ascertain why.

Hey guys my older brother is ready to get rid of his legos. We have like every
harry potter set, star wars sets, ships, bionicals, everything and I have no
idea where to start. They are loose sets like 95% complete and we have bins full
of loose bricks that belong to said sets.

Right now someone is offering me $200 for it all and it just seems low. Im on
mobile so its kinda hard to post everything here.

But how should I start?

There are veteran sellers on BrickLink who will likely chime in with their counsel
by the end of the day if not long before that. I'm not anywhere close to
being a subject matter expert on SW or HP, but...$200 for a lot like you're
describing is an insult any way you slice it.

Unless you're short on time, please take advantage of BrickLink's catalog
(https://www.bricklink.com/catalog.asp), and look up each set by number, noting
its average value for both a complete used set, as well as seeing what other
sellers may be charging for incomplete used sets. Even if you don't make
any kind of formal list, you'll start to get a much clearer picture on what
the whole lot should go for.

Smart move, incidentally, to start in the BL Forum.

I don't have to Google jack, holmes. If Shakespeare's tragedy is even
remotely accurate, then Caesar's sin was in forming a plan culminating in
forcing the Senate into declaring him as king of Rome, a title which (again according
to quasi-historical whispers), caused Romans to break out in hives.

Even if I'm utterly wrong - my strengths lie in English grammar and English
literature, not history - why on Earth would you want to come out swinging as
a provocative history snob? Surely there are more civil ways of tooting your

I would answer: If you know you've committed some egregious acts of late
against your friends, politely refuse their request when a dozen or so of them
invite you out to a late-nite party. Accept nothing - not even a pretzel - from
them for say, the rest of your natural life. Oh, and learn to love living a hermit's

  Hello,

How do you insure your collection? We get a lot of fires where we live, and my
collection is worth a lot of money. I've spoken to multiple insurance companies,
and I haven't really got any answers from them.

Any information is appreciated. Thank you!

Do you rent? Then you should have (or acquire) what is termed Renter's Insurance.
It's quite apart from your, say, auto insurance or other policy. Renter's
Insurance issues a blanket reimbursement in the event of disaster such as flood
or fire. The way it works is that you provide the insurance company with a total
estimated value of all the stuff in your dwelling that requires coverage, and
they in turn provide you with a cost estimate of coverage based on the amount
you submitted. At that point, you then take it or leave it.

If you own your residence, then you should have homeowner's insurance, and
you likely do if you're still paying on a mortgage. According to Allstates
Homeowner Insurance FAQ page, "most homeowners insurance policies include
coverage for personal property — up to the limits outlined in the policy."
At the end of the current term of coverage, most reputable insurers will allow
you to increase the value of your material goods (say if you bought new living
room furniture) provided that you're okay with an increase in monthly insurance
cost.

Does that help?

If you are not trying to log in and get a message about logging in then either
someone is trying to access your account and cannot, or they are spoofs to get
you to give away login details.

I just generated one. Were you trying to change anything in your store?

It happened to me this morning; and to yorbrick's point, I was adding inventory
to my perpetually closed store at the time. The PIN request was quite the surprise,
but not especially annoying. Hackers vs the civilized. Like most things BrickLink,
in time we'll not give it a moment's thought.

It's just a perpetual race between hackers and sites.

Stop spreading FUD please.

Here I feel compelled to intervene. With all due respect, both to you and my
Forum associates, tacking the word "please" at the end of a condescending,
dismissive statement is the discourse equivalent of spreading chocolate frosting
on a pile of merde.

Speaking strictly for myself, I can't buy into the notion that UTLF was spreading
Fear, Uncertainty, or Doubt. BrickLink members should have the perfect right
to raise intelligent and legitimate questions regarding perceived BL staff actions
(or lack thereof) having to do with account security, personal information, and
equal policy enforcement, regardless of how loosely they may word their concerns.

It is not at all presumptuous to expect a community of grown, intelligent human
beings to express increasing frustration regarding the resolution of raised concerns,
particularly when said concerns are met with unhelpful, curt, and dismissive
replies replete with toxicity.

Look...I don't want any enmity between myself, you, or any other BrickLink
denizen. May I please make an attempt at restating what I believe are the issues
at stake in this thread? The collective goal of these people is not to stir up
a hornet's nest. All they're looking for is regular, honest, and open
communication from BrickLink staff regarding issues which, left unattended, could
potentially and negatively impact both users' BL experience as well as BrickLink's
reputation. To be sure, "reputation" is in no way used dramatically here.
If people feel they can't buy or sell LEGO products on BrickLink, they'll
be happy to find their way to BrickOwl, Amazon, eBay (shudder), etc.

The logic behind regular communication should speak for itself, provided that
it supplies useful information. Not all of us understand the finer details about
the labors and dedication it takes to run BrickLink (me included), particularly
under the shadow of TLG's rightful oversight. But most of us acknowledge
that it's no cakewalk, either. Almost all necessary tasks requiring arduous
effort can be termed as thankless. That being said, regular statements regarding
the status of current anomalies shouldn't be too much to ask. Let us suppose,
say, every fortnight? Once a month on the same day (e.g. the third Friday of
each month)? The statements could be as short or detailed as BrickLink staff
desired.

Ex: "Hello BL Community. As we are all aware, last Tuesday this site was
maliciously hacked by Darth Vader of the Planet Vulcan, who threatened to melt
our brains if we didn't pay him a monthly tithe of all collected BL fees.
In response, we have taken the following actions...(etc. etc.). At this time,
we cannot predict when this crisis will end, and we beg your continued patience.
If the issue isn't resolved by (date), we will post another update on (date).
Thank you."

One last thought. I submit, with an admitted degree of trepidation, that threads
like this one would be shortened and be less emotional in tone if we all made
an effort to be as understanding and civil as possible. I am guilty of having
given in to the temptation to "own" my detractors on the Forum in the
past. I was wrong, and I can only hope that my all-too-wordy reply will result
in something positive.

With all Respect,
