It would be nice to mark messages as unread.... Not that anyone at the development
team is gonna see it, but I figured I would bring it up anyways.

(Still 6 month purge is annoying)

Don't have that set. Looks like there are 4 stickered pieces missing . 2
cheese wedges, a curved slope and the black fender.

This is funny. I meant

Not that it matters much, but a "Ranting" thread would be very well used.

When parting out sets, I have a few methods of storage. However, sorting by "Recently
Updated" (Not just listed as listed only shows new lots) would help greatly.
If part A was increased in quantity (From a consolidation of a part out), it
would show up on the "sort by recently updated" function early on compared to
20-30 pages back. Pretty simple addition I would think.

Too long? I'll take care of that: Fix 1 bug or add 1 suggestion a week or
4 a month and BL has a ton of happier sellers and buyers. Plus it shows progress.

Many of us know that there are many problems and suggestions that need fixing
and adding. Please take these debates elsewhere. I just want to publish an idea
that will not only show progress with Bricklink, but slowly make everyone happy.

How hard would it be to fix 1 bug or add one suggestion per week? Here is a couple
really simple ones off the top of my head.

Update the statistics pages. All of them.
Add percentage to feedback like this: jamesuniverse (###) 100%
Fix the download orders function (can't download while ignoring filed orders)

Now please don't use this to list every simple fix. I just listed mine. Even
if the fix was small, imagine how much happier the community would be? Progress!
Who cares if it is so miniscule. It shows 3 things.
Progress
Listening to Members
And most importantly, Communication!

This could be done weekly. 1 week to fix 1 small bug or idea? I find that reasonable.
If not, how about 4 per monthly cycle! Of course you can do more, but seeing
progress would:
Open many stores again.
Lessen the forum debates
Probably get BL a better name (as in reputation)

Please don't let this be a debate again, but I feel this could be helpful.
You don't need to build BL 2,3,4,5+.0 to replace 1.0. Just fix a couple things
every once in a while and boom. Happy members, yet you can still do whatever
admins do. :p
I try to stay out of the debates, riots, suggestions, etc. But from what I have
heard. Not much is good.

Hope this doesn't get me stop listed. :p Just trying to be realistic and
have a little peace around here.

A useful Price Guide feature would be price and sale trends in a graph. Similar
to what you find on Swappa (see attached).

This would be especially useful for new parts and minifigs as they settle into
their natural supply-and-demand averages. It would also be helpful to have a
visual on how prices for old parts behave when new sets hit the market containing
parts that haven't been available retail for a while.

Would love that feature. It's possible to get the information for the past
6 months by parsing the whole price guide page (catalogPG.asp, not priceGuide.asp),
but this generates far more traffic than necessary...

Looking back 2-3 years would be interesting too.

More than just that. How about not purge data 7 months old..... Is it really
that big of a deal to extend to a year or two?

While I am hoping to learn BrickStock (Mac Brickstore), I am still using the

Few requests.

Checkbox to show what would consolidate on the modify prices and values page.
Automatically/Checkbox for showing the OLD remarks IF they consolidate on BOTH
Values and Verify page.

It is practically impossible for me to part out a set that consolidates a lot
of lots in which I use a storage system that demands the remarks system.

Now I guess I need to learn Brickstore/Brickstock.

I buy Sterilite bins from Kroger. $1 for a shoebox size, or $3 for a 16 quart
size. On the side I have the category it's in: Bricks, Technic, Modified
Plate, etc.

I started with just the $1 bins. Then got so much stuff in bins that I had to
move the contents of a bin into a larger one. Then I started "fragmenting" the
bins. So now as my store has grown, the "Bricks" became a "1x1 bricks," "1x2+
bricks," "2x2 & 2x3 bricks," "2x4 bricks," and "2x6+ bricks". If I get a ton
of 2x2 bricks, I'd separate the 2x2-2x3 bin, and so on. Basically once a
bin gets so full that it takes me more than 30 seconds to find a lot in that
bin, it's time to fragment. That way the storage option grows as the store
grows.

Edit: I go to the craft section of walmart and buy the clear baggies they have
there--they sell in packs of 100, $1 for the small bags, and $2 for medium
or large. Lots are separate by bag and then put into those bins to make it easier
to find all of a specific part--no parts are just freely lying there.

Although this is a great system, my storage system incorporates this along with
other methods in which I have maximized efficiency. I have less room for error
and picking time is cut in half. I can pull, pack, and weigh some 30 lot (let's
say average 3 parts per lot?) orders in less than 6 minutes.

A seller on this website posts videos about selling lego here on bricklink and
here is his tutorial for brickstore. After watching the series you will know
pretty much everything you need to know about the program.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KCvRMNVoUYE

Yup! I have watched his videos since the beginning almost. Just haven't watched
those as I haven't had 25 minutes to watched them

That was ridiculous.

All we need is a delay in how fast they can post a new topic. Even at 30 Seconds,
that would delay spammers a lot.

Basically don't turn this into what happened to YouTube. (If you don't

I would like to see a marbled color choice added to the colorchart when you sell
parts.

That way buyers could search on marbled bricks.
Now it's a part without color while marbled would be a good color description.

The real colors can then be added in the comments, like normal.

I think this would be a simple addition to the known colors, just add a tick
box saying marbled and add your own color description and picture
Maybe add this next to the color not applicable tick box?

Maxx

I love hate this idea....
Love it because I could buy marbled bricks!

That would require BL to know which states are required to charge sales tax and
which do not.

Maybe add a check box in the sellers settings page to enable it if needed? Like
VAT?

Donna

More flags would make it more confusing... I know like 2 of the 50 state flags
well.

I would like to see the ability for users to display an itemized list of their
wanted items, rather than a non-specific category list. Further, it would really
nice to be able to share the list with another user by a link, and have the
list be printer-friendly. I envision this list to include descriptive text with
quantity, color and a thumbnail image of the desired items. It seems that the
data is already there since one can go to a store and see a list of items on
one's wanted list within that store's inventory. This would be great
for buyers and sellers. If you're a buyer, you could send the list to a store
that advertises "if you don't see it, ask me". You could also print the list
and take along when you shop around LEGO conventions, yard sales, meet someone
and want to trade parts, etc. For sellers, it could remind you of things you
want to purchase for your store, let's say from a LEGO PAB wall, a store
that has kits on sale that you're buying for inventory, etc. I'd appreciate
that functionality. Thanks for considering it.

This is unlikely to be implemented, because it would make fee avoidance incredibly
easy. But there's a third-party program, BrickStore, that can be used to

>;create lists like that. You can make your own too, using XML.

If that statement wasn't so incredibly true about fee avoidance, that feature
would be awesome....

Brickstore needs a upgrade or something.... I use a MAC.

Well I think this would be extremely helpful for at least me.

Most forums I am on (I know all of BL is a whole lot different than a forum,
but that's not the point.) have a messaging system. When I send a message
to 123XYZ they get a Email. How about forcing people to use a BL internal message
system so email "fishers" don't have any dinner. (Basically they reply
through BL only and get no access to a email.) I probably worded this horribly,
but I think someone will understand it and it would be very helpful. You could
still get these messages sent to your/their email, but a "To reply, Click Here"
could be embedded in the message.

Just ideas so no one has to say "No I don't have 100 2 x 3 bricks" (Anyone
remember that message?)

I am (slowly) working on collecting the sw line of minifigs, and in the adventure
will part out many sw sets. It would be advantageous to know a part out value
without the minifigs in.

Another place where this would come in handy is if you were considering parting
out a set where the minifigs are a huge part of the value...

Has this been discussed before? (or is it available and i just don't know
how?)

Thanks all.

There IS a way to do it, but it isn't as convient as just typing in a set
number.

Find XYZ set in catalog. Click "part out" into inventory. Make sure you only
are using one set and base your prices off what you like to base them off of.
Click submit. Delete the figures. Click verify. Scroll to the bottom and see
the value. Then go to a new tab (like "My Bricklink") so you don't actually
put them in your store.

Like I said. Ain't convient, but it does the job.

I plan to order from a store in Germany and they are using Euros. I use Dollars.
I can deal with it, but I thought it would be nice to have the Currency Conversion
(Like in the store) on each item also. This is already displayed in the store,
but when you go to "Cart" it only shows in Euros (Or whatever a store is using
as its main currency.) I feel this would't be too hard to add either. Hope this
comes in the future!
