  Hi,
I have a user from USA, North Carolina whom wants to buy something, but the system
wont allow him to do so.
When I check my shipping countries USA is in allowed countries.
Can you please advise where to check this elsewhere and how to unblock this?
I have this in settings
I ship to 216 countries (99% of buyers).
Non shipping countries are only Myanmar, Sudan.
Thank you for your tips!

If you don't have onsite payment method, you won't be able to ship to
most of the USA. BL requires this to collect sales tax.

If this is the case, you should upload a new picture to display it as a double
sided torso instead of the current one sided. I saw this, but moved past since
it was only a one sided image.

This exists because it was sold this way. Same for the others that are mentioned
below that have appeared in sets as figs built that way. I get the idea of having
all different monochrome color figs available, but then where do you limit the
creation of them. Does it mean, you could only have figs if all the parts are
available to create it. If someone "cleans" a part to remove the print and create
a new monochrome, they technically have the part, but it's not original by
any means. The current catalog doesn't limit anyone from buying or creating
them, but I could see the gap if someone is looking to purchase one. It's
a balance that I'm glad I don't have to manage.

Proposal for extension of the catalog.

I think there is a very big market for monochrome minifigures. So far, these
are considered custom items.
I would like to suggest establishing a separate category for monochrome minifigures
in the "standard version" of all colors.

For example "Minifigure Monochrome - white".

I look forward to your estimation and feedback

I think with the increase in wiping torsos and parts to make monochrome figures
adding monochrome figures to the catalog would be a bad idea.

On top of this, I'm pretty sure the main objective behind the catalog is
that it is a representation of the parts that are officially sold by Lego. While
they do sell parts to make monochrome minifigures, they are not sold as such,
hence why they are not listed in the standard catalog and require custom listings.
If they were to do this, it could open a can of worms for other requests.

I have a 30375 that isn't quite lime, or isn't in the range of shades
I would normally associate with lime. Here it is with x118 that I have verified
(as far as I am able, by comparing it with other pieces) as lime. Is this just
a normal color variation? The part in question doesn't seem to come in any
other greenish colors. Looking at the color guide online it seems to resemble
"neon green" which I'm not sure is an actual color:

From the image, it looks like it's been played with so is there a change
that it's just worn or sunbleached? I would still call it lime, but just
"old" and used from a color perspective.

I don't have much experience with the much older browns but the body does
look more Reddish Brown. However that did not exist in 1990.

I have a photo here against the modern Reddish Brown.

Did the old Brown come in different shades?

Thanks for any help.

According to the inventory the body of the monkey did come in both Reddish Brown

I don't know of anyway to do this, but like the suggestion. I use the stock

I noticed that this is a DRAMATIC catalog update that will throw the entire store

between sorting orders. Especially moving all the wedges will be be fun puzzle.

Not gonna object against any changes, they seem alright to me. Except that there's
one change clearly missing from that list: Moving the 2x2 corner brick to Brick,

I hope this really was THE update everyone was waiting for, and now we're

The list you see is of the PROPOSED changes, not SCHEDULED changes. There are
only six items on the list so far that can officially be considered approved
by admin, and those are the six examples listed in the Catalog Newsletter which
went out yesterday.

Oh, whoa, thanks Russell, that's an important addition here. That's not
the way I read it at all, but now I see.

Does this mean the other proposed changes are going to trickle through at random
moments later on, or will they be implemented in one go with the next edition
in October?

No, it means a decision on those items has not been made yet. If something is
rejected, it doesn't mean it can't happen at another time, or that it
will happen at another time. But the bigger question is more about how much of
this moving around the community can accept in a given period of time.

Regular updates at specific times seems to be the path forward with these types
of changes. That way, there is a reference point people can look back on and
make adjustments.

Incremental updates are definitely a better way to go that a dump and run. With
a system like this that is "owned" by the parent company but was not previously
managed as such, there will always be fluidity in the system. Managing these
expectations and keeping everyone (mostly) happy is a balance that you deserve
immense credit for.

Interesting. I'd prefer the other way - just make all the changes they feel
are necessary now in one go, then have stability for existing parts for a couple
of years.

There is a balance though that is needed when you are performing maintenance
of this type though:

A- All updates at a single time (relative).
- requires a lot of prep, management, organization, community input and alignment
- takes a long amount of time and typically would continue to incur questioning
from the community of lake of response, delays and where, when, how long

B- Incremental updates by section, category or other option
- Still allows community input but applies focus
- Shows work and effort which usually gets positive response from community
that their voice is being heard and shows progress
- Allows for more focused efforts to get it right the first time and breads
standards for implementation in the future

While an all for one option is valid, in this communities case, I feel that the
sheer amount of change and the community influences don't allow for it.
Just my opinion.

If something needed to make the set doesn't exist, it can't be complete,
you said it yourself. Only As noted, when selling sets as "completed" only the
box and instruction can be missing and could be noted in the listing.

Some instructions have multiple booklets, so if one or more are missing that
would be an "incomplete" set of instructions. For example, if you had only 1

would you list them?

I agree with a previous poster that this would be additional programming that
probably only servers a small purpose and personally if I was looking for instructions
that I couldn't get online and they were "incomplete" or had a note that
they were missing pages, I wouldn't purchase them in the first place so this

  Hello everyone,
I've created a mosaic project tha took me quite a long time to figure out,
and I find myself in a pickle having it based on the bricklink color guide. I
thought light grey and light bluish grey were 2 different colors, and bought
them accordingly from separate sellers.
As no one on the site seemed to have light grey in stock, I went to e.bay and
bought quite a big lot of it. Only to find out that it was in fact the same color
as what I thought was light bluish grey.
As I seem to have understood reading through the forum they are in fact the same
thing, as light grey was an old color now completely replaced by what bricklink
calls "bluish".
First of all, what the hell.
Second of all, now I can no longer finish the project, as I really need an intermediate
color between light (bluish) and Dark (bluish) grey.
Is there such a color?

Your original assumption is correct, they are in fact two different colors.
The problem that you might run into on bulk seller sites is that they might not
care. Finding bulk lots of Light gray is a difficult task as it gets mixed in
or seller just don't care. It can be a little difficult to tell the color
difference, but when you have them in your hand it's obvious (at least to
me). There is a slight bluish hue to the newer color and the older color tends
to be more dull from age.

Here is SOME more silly Lego-Colour-Names:

Sand Yellow/Dark Tan
Warm Gold/Pearl Gold
Bright Bluish Green/Dark Turquoise
Earth Blue/Dark Blue
Flame Yellowish Orange/Bright Light Orange
Bright Orange/Orange
Brick Yellow/Tan

When it comes to User-friendly, one should skip this idea already.

To understand user friendly you have to think like a newbie besides whilst you
may hate all those colour names at least they are official colour names

Dark Bluish Grey is certainly no better and yet its not even an official Lego
term?

I would'nt mind but I'm pretty much only talking about adjusting the
names of the greys not the entire colour pallete!

To your point, I do still consider myself a newbie. While I joined almost a
year ago, I'm still finding my way around here and getting familiar. That
being said, no matter if you set them to new, old, light, bright or bluish, there
is a learning curve for everyone. If you are getting into the hobby or shopping
for parts or just trying to off load your life's collection, any hobby will
have it's gotcha points. While these two colors may be the ones in question
now, the point of what to call them still would require significant work on both
maintenance and seller to adjust. Is there really that much of a need or more
of a convenience?

And speaking of numbers, I'm thinking the first step in harmonization would
be to replace the BrickLink color numbers with official LEGO numbers. What do
people think of THAT idea. When we speak to internal folks, they tend to use
the numbers instead of the names, so there is value in those numbers.

Would that move the giant modulex gap out of my color chart?

Well, in a sense it would because LEGO didn’t always give different numbers for
Modulex colours when they were the same as already existing colours (a colour
is a colour, Modulex or not)… but they also used the same numbers for different
colours (e.g. 3 is “normal” Light Yellow AND Modulex Black).

http://www.ryanhowerter.net/colors.php

Does Lego use every number sequentially?

It seems LEGO used numbers sequentially as they were needed but there are unexplained
holes (no 51-79, no 92-99, etc.) and what I think are “never used colours” or
“not used yet colours” (e.g. 361 & 365, missing opal colours?).

Also that doesn’t address the many-to-one, one-to-many, many-to-many relations
between BL and LEGO colours.

And, finally, it would ruin a tonload of files that use BL’s numbering.  Wanted
Lists and Inventories that use the BL numbers but also all the compatibility
databases out there.

So I’d say: not a good idea.

Just to piggy back off of this, if you switch the ids in the back end, would
that require everyone that uses the API to upload parts to modify all that tools,
calls and what have you? I'm pretty sure that all that hash mapping in the
back end uses the id numbers currently to specify the color so this would be
a hard impact on users adding parts.

At what interval does something become "old"?

At the point it just becomes inherently obvious that Lego has moved away from
the production of a main shade of a colour in prefernce for a new shade of colour.
Brow along with Light and dark gey I think everyone would consider old colours
that have fallen out of favour by the Lego Group.
It does'nt mean I think an obscure colour that Lego has'nt release for
a few years should also be considered old/discontinued but maybe the use of the
term 'Classic' to get around these concerns? though I prefer to reference
them 'old' myself

Point taken.

I agree with your point that they could easily be a new gray down the road at some point,

To be honest I think any new shade of grey that Lego create will only be to accompany
the exisitng Light/Dark grey rather than to replace them hence why I feel these
greys will remain the current staple greys for many years to come hence whi I
feel they deserve the proper accurate title of Light/Dark grey.

but is the fact that there are two and one is more "bluish" really an issue, or just because it's a longer name?

So if we were to rename the existing LG and LBG (in the future), how do you work
the compliment colors for these that were create for a short time of Very Light
Gray and Very Light Bluish Gray? If we are to stay constant, do we then rename
these as well to Very "Classic or Old" Gray?

When it comes to shading though, I've always been of the understand that
it's similar to a compass reading. so sand blue by shading would become Grayish Blue.

Okay by I think your side stepping away from my main point which is not so much
about how Sand Blue is named (I have no problem with the name) but what we call
Light/Dark Bluish grey?
That said I do still see more of both grey and blue in Sand Blue whereas for
the other colours I only really see Light and Dark grey

I remember when I first joined this site looking for the Stone greys I just thought
oh wait they must just be called Light/Dark grey, no wait Blusih grey?? What
the hell?

At what interval does something become "old"? For any individual that is part
of a community, a color palette is easier to remember and while shading is not
usually beneficial, it can make it easier. I agree with your point that they
could easily be a new gray down the road at some point, but is the fact that
there are two and one is more "bluish" really an issue, or just because it's
a longer name?

There are other colors in the palette that have longer names too like Bright
Light Orange or Blue and some of the Trans parts inherently are long. I'm
not saying your point is at all invalid but is it worth the effort is all. (I
hate when my job brain interferes with my hobby brain)

It will be known to many that I’ve always favoured the idea of using official
Lego colour names not because I like them better or think they describe the
colours better (Many are very odd choices!) but simply because it creates less
uncertainty about what I’m selling and what the customer thinks they are buying
however I’ve made that argument already and now’s probably the time to accept
that Bricklink colour names are unlikely to match that of the Lego group!

However one thing that has always jarred me somewhat is the use of the term ‘Bluish’
to describe the greys when I’m sure if it was’nt for the need to fit around the
older existing greys already in the catalog both would have no doubt just been
given the simple description Dark/Light Grey instead of Dark/Light Bluish Grey?

The thing is the way I see it Bricklink uses its own colour names for three main
reasons:-

A) Lego never provided a colour name for them to use (at least not in the early
days!)

B) They wanted their colour names to better describe and match the actual shade
of colour!

C) They wanted their colour names to be short and to the point!

However when it comes to those last two points colours like ‘Dark Bluish Grey’
and ‘Light Bluish Grey’ both fail to meet that ideal objective compared to most
of the other colour names that have been created by Bricklink. Both descriptions
are lengthy and somewhat misleading? If anything I see more ‘Bluish Grey’ in
a colour like Sand blue than either of these two greys and when all said and
done they are basically just Light and Dark Grey?

So what does it matter and what to do?

Well because they are both what I would call very common CORE central colours
in Legos colour palette it stands to reason that we should perhaps think about
giving them the most suitably descriptive name for them (Light and Dark grey?)
after all that is what any newbie or anyone else for that matter would define
them as?

Both of these colours are ‘very current’ where as the discontinued greys are
not so current and therefore probably don’t warrant the need for the best descriptive
name for them any longer? In fact if we were to rename the existing Light and
Dark Grey as ‘Old Light Grey’ or ‘Classic Light Grey’ I think this would also
be very helpful to newbies when they are confronted with so many different shades
of grey?

I would also consider using the ‘Old/Classic’ tag for some other discontinued
colours too like Brown i.e ‘Old Brown’ I have less problem with Reddish brown
remaining as that is at least what Lego themselves call it but ‘bluish’ is a
made up bricklink term that has little relevance to the actual colour nor does
Lego use the term? Lego may have added more blue to the actual colour mix than
the old greys but in appearance they are simply intended to be a Light and Dark
Grey in a new and current form hence I feel we should refer to them as such?

Also wherever we use the term ‘Very Light’ can I suggest using the term ‘Pale’.
i.e ‘Pale Grey’ instead of ‘Very Light Bluish Grey’ as shorter names are much
easier for people to read off the site and to label/Inventory their stocks even
if that does mean some initial disruption?

Lastly shouldn’t we at least try and mirror Lego’s reference to Grey and use
‘Grey’ instead of ‘Gray’ in the descriptions?

I hope others will share the same logic in what I’m trying to suggest or perhaps
I’m barking up the wrong tree? Thoughts?

I understand your point about the names being long or drawn out, but I don't
agree with your point on sand blue. From a color spectrum perspective, the six
core primary and secondary colors are traditional used for shading. As everyone
know naming colors from there become part of the problem as each industry or
supplier calls things different names based on real world objects. Even BL has
"Olive" or "Coral" that fit this mark.

When it comes to shading though, I've always been of the understand that
it's similar to a compass reading. West (W), South West (SW), West South
West (WSW). When you reference the sand blue or LBG, the predominant color becomes
the final work so sand blue by shading would become Grayish Blue.

Then you get to the Medium Violet range when has multiple shade in as single
name as I just came to find out while building my color palette. I accidentally
ordered a 3001 from two different stores and received two different shades which
I found our were color id 112 and 219.
https://rebrickable.com/forum/index.php?/topic/3565-2-different-medium-violet-colors/

While I understand the need for standards (health care worker), if the industry
doesn't adopt one that already exists from the start, they are usually bound
to the one they create and BL seems to fall into the secondary making it much
harder to change as the years progress.

is what I got so far.

As of right now I am missing some pretty easy 1x2 plate or tile entries for Nougat,
Light Nougat, Sand Green and Brown.

Then I may have to get a little creative to fit these on there:

Very Light Bluish Gray

Part No: 53989 Name: Arm Mechanical, Exo-Force / Bionicle, Thin Support
*
53989 Arm Mechanical, Exo-Force / Bionicle, Thin Support
Parts: Minifigure, Body Part {Very Light Bluish Gray}

Rust

Part No: 2335 Name: Flag 2 x 2 Square
*
2335 Flag 2 x 2 Square
Parts: Flag {Rust}

Blue Violet

Part No: 47458 Name: Slope, Curved 1 x 2 x 2/3 Wing End
*
47458 Slope, Curved 1 x 2 x 2/3 Wing End
Parts: Slope, Curved {Blue-Violet}

Light Violet

Part No: 3899 Name: Minifigure, Utensil Cup
*
3899 Minifigure, Utensil Cup
Parts: Minifigure, Utensil {Light Violet}

Sand Purple

Part No: 30375 Name: Torso Mechanical, Battle Droid
*
30375 Torso Mechanical, Battle Droid
Parts: Minifigure, Body Part {Sand Purple}

Dark Blue Violet

Part No: 3710 Name: Plate 1 x 4
*
3710 Plate 1 x 4
Parts: Plate {Dark Blue-Violet}

Light Yellow

Part No: 3022 Name: Plate 2 x 2
*
3022 Plate 2 x 2
Parts: Plate {Light Yellow}

I haven't really started looking at the more unique colors like trans and
metallic colors. I'll tackle those once I finish with the solid colors

I'd love to know what others think and if they have any better suggestions
for parts to use for the colors I listed or suggestions on additional colors
that I might be able to add that I didn't list.

Also if anyone knows a good way to arrange all the colors that's a little
more "smooth" on the gradient (more like a rainbow) than what I did, that would
be awesome.

-Pete

I've been building a color pallet of just the more recent colors (2000+)
and have found this link to be helpful.

https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp

I used this as the ordering on my plate and it transitions pretty well.

There are "tones" of medium violet??? I don't see these names in the BL color

Check my store, I have both

That's very interesting. I used your color codes and found images linked
to Brickset that had some good information. I guess BL does nothing to distinguish
between the versions then so you really don't know what you will get when
you order that part color.

Light purple.

This is a great color comparison that I expected. Ironically enough, this order
included the Purple and Medium Lavender, so that's how I was sure that neither
was "Light Purple"

I've not seen it update yet and can't believe the commotion this created,

2 sets of black technic pins, blue technic axle pins, etc.

Once there is another "lot" listing, I don't think that you can combine them
(I couldn't find anything). I know when you part a set out you can use that
if it finds an existing lot to combine them together, but you'll have to
track the parts at that time which for me was just as annoying.

What I've done is part the set out to the stock room and then when I'm
ready to move everything to my inventory, promote it all at once. This creates
duplicates, but if you use your inventory menu, search for "non-unique" items
and you will see only the duplicates. You can then manually add the lots together
and delete the dups. It's still kind of annoying, but at least you can clean
up your lots.

That's what the catalog says because that is what the data says. But the
data for those parts is not correct for all sets. We are slowly figuring it out,
though.

Part No: 30389b Name: Hinge Brick 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger Vertical and Axle Hole
*
30389b Hinge Brick 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger Vertical and Axle Hole
Parts: Hinge
is the latest version of the part and was definitely not around in 2003. Any
inventory containing that part before ~2010 is highly likely to be wrong.

[p=30389c]
was the first version of the part to contain an axle hole. It was definitely
introduced around 2002, so the transition period between 30389 and 30389c would
have been then.

Since this set was released in 2003, it might have contained either of those
two versions, however we have solid evidence from sealed set that the set you
are restoring contained 30389c. The instructions were probably created in 2002
when the new version of the part with axle hole had yet to be released.

Thanks for the through response. I figured that it was part of an inventory
validation recently, but was still curious. If 30389b was not introduced until
2010ish, would it be valid to update the production date on that part? Obviously
not knowing the exact date makes it harder, but even to get it closer than the
2002 that is currently set.

As for my set, I'll acquire 30389c to complete it. Thanks again.

I acquired a bulk lot recently and it included instruction and parts for

Set No: 7413 Name: Passage of Jun-Chi
*
7413-1 (Inv) Passage of Jun-Chi
96 Parts, 1 Minifigure, 3 Gear, 2003
Sets: Adventurers: Orient Expedition
.

It included a number of other sets as well, so I went ahead and printed inventory
sheets from BL at the time so that I could pick through the parts and sort them
out accordingly. After sorting everything out, I'm rebuilding the set just
to make sure again that everything is there and noticed in step 9 (image) that
it uses

Part No: 30389 Name: Hinge Brick 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger Vertical (Undetermined Type)
*
30389 Hinge Brick 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger Vertical (Undetermined Type)
Parts: Hinge
. The inventory that I have printed has

Part No: 30389b Name: Hinge Brick 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger Vertical and Axle Hole
*
30389b Hinge Brick 2 x 2 Locking with 1 Finger Vertical and Axle Hole
Parts: Hinge
and now
I see on the current inventory that it's [p=30389c]. I see that all three
versions of this part were in use in 2003 when this set was produced, but want
to make sure that I have a valid inventory if I try to put this set up for sale.
Can someone confirm as the parts that I had for building this inventory included
one of 30389 and one of 30389c. Since I need to acquire two of a like part for
the set, I'd like to get the correct version.

We have already the list by country and province/state.
We could add the city.

Also in the Buy Wanted Lists/Items for sale, we could add with the country and
the contient, a "near by X kms" or something like that.

Even if this was implemented, I would think it would have to be optional for
the seller to include this information. Not all seller would like to have closer
proximity available to the buyers and would not want to do local/personal pickups.

This already exists. If you go to your wanted list and next to the search bar,
click "More Options". At the bottom of the middle section, select the check
box for "Hide Items if Have Qty is = Want Qty".

I don't believe that it is maintained, but it definitely serves the purpose.

After looking through posts, some users said that “color may vary” means that
the second more detailed image of the part is just showing the same part, but
in a different color, but others said it meant other things. Does “color may
vary” mean the color is random and not the color that it is listed as? One user
said that it meant that the color of the part might be slightly different because
lego is not consistent with colors, for example, two white bricks and one is
a more little tan-ish if you hold it up to a light and look closely.

The first explanation. It refers to part of the Bricklink site where images are
shown in a different color than intended. This stems from the old days when each
part shape only had one primary image, and only thumbnail sized images for the
other existing colors. A page like https://www.bricklink.com/catalogList.asp?catType=P&colorPart=37
still does not show the colors that are asked for.

And yes, the other explanations are also correct: there are some sets that contain
parts in a random color (e.g. Bionicle), and there is color variation, especially
with some colors, which may be reflected in a store's listing. It depends
on the context where you see the message.

Another path is for "speckle" colored pieces. I have one in my shop now and
a few that have passed through that I remark on the variation of it. They are
extremely inconsistent and some look like they are straight solid color.

The one that has been extremely visible for me in the solid colors has been Lime.
If you look up reviews for the Lamborghini Sian (42115) you will find numerous
complaints about the variations of the parts and not matching quite right. This
could also be a scenario if the seller has numerous of the same part that has
some slight variations.

413 Parts, 7 Minifigures, 1 Gear, 2000

I'm hoping
all the part are here, but in looking at the book that came with it, I quickly
realized that I wouldn't be able to read any of it as it is full German text.
I'm assuming that it's pretty normal to have the instruction books in
different languages, but it made me think as I was looking through the catalog,
how do you list this for sale? Being that I'm based in the US, most would
expect that this is in English, and even with a note on the listing could easily
be mixed up or missed. It's a hefty book/instruction in great shape but
don't want to deal with a language mix up. Thoughts?

  Hi, All.

I've placed an order recently for 100+ different parts that are spread across
several my wanted lists.

Now I need to somehow clear them out of my wanted lists.
I expected to find a corresponding button next to an order (i.e. "remove ordered
items from wanted lists") but could not find one.

This seems like a good feature to implement. Would that be possible?
Ideally, it would present a table, where each row would lead with an ordered
item, then in can see in what wanted list(s) the item is included and can use
checkboxes to remove or leave it there (there should also be a one big "[un]check"
box).
So that if I want to keep the item on my wanted list for more purchases - I can
do it, but if I was just completing the missing bits of several sets - I can
easily clean up my "missing parts" list.

It already exists, almost: the not-finished Apply Order and the search for an
order in your WLs.

Apply Order:
Open a Wanted List, on top, just below the completion percentage, there’s an
“Apply Order” button.  If you click on it, it proposes a list of orders that
can be “applied” to the current WL.
Applying the order will change the “Have” fields in the WL.
Problem: it doesn’t remember what has already been applied, so you can apply
the same order to several WLs (or to the same WL several times) and, each time,
it will act as if it was the first time.

Search Order in your WLs:
Several ways to do that.  One is the search WL page ( https://www.bricklink.com/v2/wanted/search.page
): enter the order number.
Another way is to click the scroll icon in the order placed page (icon needs
to be added in the settings first).
Advantages: it searches all the WLs in one click.  So, if an item appears in
several WLs, you can “distribute” the ordered items in the WLs as you wish.
Disavdantage: you need to change your quantities one item at a time.

Tip: don’t delete lots before the order has arrived, move the complete / bought
lots in a “bought” list.  Better yet: create a WL for each order¹, so you can
delete / change the other WLs without fear of losing information.

(¹ Problem: there’s an bug with the page that transforms an order into a WL,
see https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1233982 )

Keep in mind that if you have multiple wanted lists with the same part (list
1 - 3001 blue (2), list 2 - 3001 blue (4)) and you order 5 and apply it to both
list, it will say that bot are complete because it does not know that you have
"removed" parts for another list. It only knows that the order had 5 and you
need 4 or 2 and not that you are missing 1 part in total. You will have to
keep track of things like that across all of the list you are applying the order
too.

Would dark red parts with either the lighter dark red, and darker dark red, be
listed as a single lot? Or is there a better way to list the 2 variations of
the color?
Thanks!

You could list them as separate lots and leave a note in the comments field that
indicates whether it is the old or the new dark red.

+1

I have a few listings where I fell the blue parts a I have are "brittle blue"
so I just duped the listing, and put a note in there that I suspect them to be
brittle blue. Then you just need to keep them separate in your storage.

  This is a useful discussion.

I wanted to make a color guide for myself but feared it would annoy a seller
to order like 30 tiles with each a different color. Labor intensive on their
part. I didn't know anyone was selling pre-made guides on Bricklink.

I've resorted to looking up the name of a color used in a set I already own
to figure out how to order something else in that color.

Yeah, I've only seen one person selling a color guide in passing (as I wasn't
really looking), but in my recent experiences, none of the sellers I've order
from have had an issue with it. As a matter of fact, two of them reached out
to me prior to sending my order asking if I was making a color pallet and if
there was any others I needed. All of the sellers that I ended up purchasing
from was all high feedback, so I'm sure the realized what was happening.

  Friends,

I'm colorblind (red-green) and struggle with successfully identifying some
of these colors. I had no idea there were so many variations of the color gray!
Has anyone put together a convenient brick color guide? I'd happily
buy one so that I don't order wrong.

Thanks in advance!
Jason

I never really thought that I would need a color guide and then I got into reselling
and buying bulk lots and realized what a world of colors there are out there.

First I would check out this BL Color guide (https://www.bricklink.com/catalogColors.asp).
It's a great resource for helping to narrow some things down when you are
looking at parts.

As others have already mentioned, find a brick style or size that works for you
and build a wanted list. My preference was towards 2x4 bricks for solid colors
and 2x2 for trans-colors. For me, this gives enough surface area to give a full
comparison of the piece in question. I just started building mine about 3 weeks
ago and have several orders on the way to fill in the gaps. You also find with
that color guide above, that not all colors come in all sizes. My Coral is 4
- 1x2 bricks (3004)

In all, mine will end up with 57 solid colors (currently) and 14 trans colors.
There are significantly more, but I wanted to start with the more popular and
recent colors that I felt would end up in lots that I would sell. Just find
a good way to organize and label them and you'll should be good to go.

I recently got a couple of instructions for building MOC's, put the parts
list in a wanted list and want to start buying the parts for them.
Now clicking on buy all I can scroll down and find my shop so I can see what
parts I have in stock, I can't buy from myself for obvious reasons.
Is there anyway we can pick parts from a wanted list and click on remove from
inventory or something like that so we can pick the parts we have in stock
and get them removed from the inventory.
It's very long winded pulling up the wanted list, pulling up the inventory
and manually deleting the parts that you need. It helps to have a twin screen
setup on a desktop but trying to do it on one screen would be a pain.

You can search your inventory for parts on your wanted lists, but I don't
think you can search for parts on one specific list. If you got to your store
inventory, on the right, make sure you have expanded the "search my inventory"
options and select the check box for "Items on My wanted List".

The other down side is that it doesn't tell you what list it is on, so if
you have multiples, it's a pain.

Hopefully there is something better, but this is all I'm aware of at this
point.

  Hi all!

We are always adding parts to our store, and currently have a sale going on almost
all parts.

However, there are a few specific items that we don't want out sale to apply
for (Sets, minifigures, and some hard to find parts). After each session of adding
parts, we have to go through and check all of the category boxes, and then uncheck
the sets and minifigures. But for parts, they are usually in one of the categories
that get checked, and put on sale. Because of this, we then have to go and manually
remove the sale for that item, along with the rest of the parts that we don't
want on sale.

Is there someway to avoid the hassle of changing them back manually? Maybe some
way to lock the price, or make it so that the sales never apply to it?

Thanks!
~Brick Brothers

Put something in the remarks like nosale. Put everything on sale, then immediately
set sale to 0% off for any item with nosale in the remarks.

For some reason, I cant seem to get that to work. How exactly do you change that.
Just in case im doing it wrong

Are you using the box that is something like change only parts that have nosale
somewhere in the remarks.

I added NOSALE to one of our items, along with its location in our drawers, and
set the sale to 10% off. When I click the submit changes button, it doesnt make
any change to the price.

In the second image (lower section), in the first drop down list, select "update
my whole inventory".

The feedback page encourages to resolve issues before leaving feedback:

Please try to resolve any disputes before posting a complaint. Feedback must
not be used to communicate with your trading partner or ask them a question

Yes that is actually suggested and I would welcome it to become compulsory.

I think a pop up type message might be better that says something along the lines
of:-

While a pop up message sounds all well and good, they only work for a short time.
Once someone knows that it is there, they tend to just ignore them.

"You are about to leave a Negative feedback but have you considered contacting
the seller first? Most sellers will be keen to resolve issues given fair opportunity
to do so?"

If the buyer is able to leave a kind of draft negative that appears after a certain
time it will just put the sellers back up and make them feel like they're
being blackmailed and having to resolve because of the impending negative rather
than because they want to resolve off their own back!

I like the idea of having some secondary or hybrid concept and I think it could
help eliminate some work for the admins with feedback removal. How about if
when sending a non-positive feedback, the system puts a set hold time (say 2
days) before it is officially posted, but also sends as an email and/or message
to the other party giving them a chance to respond. The response would then
allow the parties to (hopefully) better align and come to a better resolution.

There would obviously have to be some kind of limit on this for those transactions
that are actually bad and need to be noted as such, but this would give some
help to the process.

  Hello everyone,

I am considering printing out labels to upgrade my currently subpar inventory
labels and I was wondering how other sellers have gone about doing that? Is
there a template somewhere provided by Bricklink I am unaware of that would be
good to work off of?

I use a lot of Akro-Mils plastic organizers, I wonder if any other sellers use
those as well?

Thank you for any information you may provide!

Regards,
Captain Q

I have a number of the Akro-Mils with the different drawer styles and they are
amazing. I've actually also purchased a Dymo LabelManager 280 and came up
with a grid number scheme for sorting and finding. Each tower was lettered (A,
B, C...) then each row was numbered, then letter for the drawer across. In my
inventory then, I've added the "location" in the remarks so that when I need
to find something, I tells me exactly where I need to go. For instance 3001
in blue location 6-D2. I spend a littl more time on the front end sorting, but
it's made it a lot easier and labeling the individual drawers was perfect.
I also then used the labeler to print out labels for all of my minifigs so the
bag is easier to find as well.

I don't know if it is the light reflection or not, but they look like
a metallic blue color which Lego does not have. Also, if you look at the 3D
render of that part, the Lego piece is not exactly round but has number of cuts
like a decagon. I would say fake.

Old versions (possibly from the 70's) of this part has a round hole, never
versions have hexagonal holes. So I believe this may be a genuine old part that
has been coated afterwards, i.e. the coating is not original.

/Jan

That is true, this is possible. None the less, with that coating, they are destined
for the can or a kids play lot.

instructions.
I have four copies of this train and the previous owner applied the sticker as
on the sticker sheet.
Also the way it is printed on the sticker sheet make more sense.
So I suggest to accept
[p=3010pb296rej,0]
and add a note

"The stickered brick .... is applied as it appears on the sticker sheet but the
instructions and box art show it applied upside down. Since both ways are correct,
the alternate item 3010pb293 .... is also added in the counterpart section."

3010pb293 Brick 1 x 4 with Black and Yellow Danger Stripes Pattern (Sticker) - Sets 7720 / 7760
Parts: Brick, Decorated

This image for the brick in question and the box are actually the correct orientation
for this sign. Yellow/Black danger signs are meant to slope away from the "hazard"
and point the driver or person otherwise around or away from the hazard. In
this case, the hazard is in the center of the front of the train ad the slope
is meant to point the person to the sides of the engine car, not the middle.
Think of it this way, when you are driving at night on the road and you see
this type of sign, you eyes follow the slope of the reflective color down and
you reach the road, not up to the sky.
