Didn't get blocked from using the API. was just using excel to pull some
of the store ranking list. My guess is I pulled to much in the amount of time
allowed so to BL it looked like a cyber attack.

No, it's a question of excessive number of queries, server load, etc.
See BL Terms?

I guess if it's minor, your IP will be unbanned tomorrow after BrickLink
midnight 00:00 EDT, in 5+ hours.

He was blocked a month ago, why do you think tomorrow will be the magic day he
can get back on the site?

Hello, I am interested in managing my inventory via api. Could you please provide
an example of a GET function, preferably in Python? Thank you very much.

You can find an example code here, and I think there is also a GitHub repo.

https://www.bricklink.com/v3/api.page?page=auth

Getting inventory is just retrieving JSON data from this URL after authentication.

https://api.bricklink.com/api/store/v1/inventories/392783099

That is the easy part, authentication is the tricky one.

I haven't used Python in years, so I cannot give you a complete example of
that language.

  Hello,

I would be very grateful if any Lego fans out there could help me by answering
a couple of questions for a Lego school project...

I'm a year 8 student (12 years old) from the UK and a massive Lego fan. I'm
working on a school Design & Engineering study project and I really want to make
a Lego related product.

At home, I have all my bricks in drawers but when I go away from home I struggle
to take my bricks and Lego projects with me. To help me and others who have the
same problem, I have chosen to design and make a product to help to people travel
with their bricks and build anywhere.

I'm doing some research into what people currently use to travel with Lego
and and I would be very grateful if you could answer the questions below to help
me understand what things you feel would be useful to a product like this

It will only take you a minute or two: https://forms.office.com/e/XWUmpDsYHj

Thank you very much for your help.

Done, filled out the form.

Spam by new accounts promoting drugs etc seems to be a recurring problem.

I suggest that a feedback rating of 1 or higher be required to post in the forums,
or new accounts could be prevented from creating a new thread for 30 days.

I agree somewhat but see an issue where new buyers with questions are blocked
by this.

A solution might be a captcha (only for your first post) or account activation
per email.

I CAN'T GET IN TO PROCESS MY ORDERS!!

Dont press the send button when you see the screen, it already mailed you, clicking

Maybe that helps, it did for me the first time.

  Dear BrickLink members,

Following the examples of other online marketplaces with regards to security
features such as OTP, we have decided to change the current OTP opt-in feature
to an opt-out feature. This means that sellers will have this feature enabled
automatically in their store settings and will be able to opt-out if they so
desire.
We highly encourage sellers to keep OTP enabled for added account protection.

Additional safety measures may include changing your passwords regularly and
having separate passwords for all your online accounts.

Thank you.
The BrickLink Team

This would have been a better announcement if it had been sent early enough for
me to read it before the change was made.
I didn't read the message board late last night, so when I tried to log on
today I was surprised and mystified about what the heck this was.

November 2023 wasn't early enough?

Did you read this?

https://www.bricklink.com/message.asp?ID=1459423

Because that was about today's change from opt-in to opt-out.

  Hi everyone,

One of the side effects of the variant merge project is that some of our more
advanced users began asking for Alternate Item IDs to be included in the catalog
download feature.

So we have added this field to the download - see attached images. Downloads
(as before) are available in either CSV or XML format.

By way of reminder, for the variant project we are adding all original item numbers
as alternates to make sure people are able to easily find parts where the number
has changed.

Thank you! I already implemented it into my software!

My intention is to open a Bricklink store in a new months, and I would like to
create my own business card that all of my buyers would receive when ordering
from my store. I would like to put the Bricklink logo next to the name of my
bricklink store on the business card, which would end up being physically printed.
Do I have a permission to use the Bricklink logo on the business card as a seller?

Thank you for replying in advance,

Hello there. I need to ask for some assistance because yesterday I placed an
order on Bricklink (Lego 75192 - Millennium Falcon), and unfortunately, an issue
arose. It appears that the seller's profile (https://store.bricklink.com/picasso2257?p=picasso2257#/terms)
has been compromised, and he is unable to contact me through Bricklink. He states
that he no longer has access to Bricklink and has not received any payment. Coincidentally,
the store was closed this morning, and its location has been relocated from France
to the US.
Upon discovering this, I promptly contacted PayPal and submitted a refund request.
Additionally, I reached out to my bank to block the payment, as one half of it
has been made using PayPal balance, while the other half had been processed through
my credit card, and the payment was not completed. Now, I would like to inquire
about the likelihood of receiving a refund. I am aware that if the seller fails
to ship the package, I can fill out a Non-Shipping Seller form. However, how
optimistic should I be about getting my money back?
Thank you, everyone, for your assistance.

The store is now suspended, contact the BL helpdesk/admins.

  Good Morning Forum,
I had a customer reach out asking if I could reduce my shipping before purchasing
a set. I only do instant check out and not invoices. I explained in the email
that the shipping cost is what I believe is a fair price and I don't reduce
shipping. I told him thank you for his interested.

He never wrote back but a day later they purchased the item he had emailed about
and in the comments "Hi. Can you please reduce shipping cost a few dollars
to reflect ups advantage which is cheaper? Thanks!" after I already told
him no and after he had paid.

I don't want to be petty but I'm annoyed that I told them no and ignored
it.

What would you do?

Thanks!

Nope, Stick to what you told him before.

Some people keep trying.
